Moving thru May - Week 1

Sooooo - the May movers are awfully quiet tonight. Hope everyone is doing well.

Watching the news tonight and thinking back to that awful day in September almost 10 years ago - I am just hoping that for everyone that lost loved ones that day, today will bring them some peace and a feeling of justice for what that evil creature (can't even call him a human being!) did to the United States. Went out and changed my flag to one that has the stars and stripes on it.

Well - off for a shower, a little tv and then hitting the hay so I can do it all over again tomorrow!

    Have a great evening everyone!

Moving thru May - Week 1

      Hi Jolie,

      I'm here
It is kind of quiet all around today. I had a call from a potential customer this morning, said she would call back this afternoon but didn't. hmmmm. I told her I can do a last minute monogramming job for her, no problem!

Even my chickens didn't do much today. I have 25 hens out there & got 15 eggs today. What were the other 10 doing all day? :H:H

Honestly - some days are like this

Hope everyone has a good evening!

Good evening all - logged on early this morning, but lost my post and then had to get going with a long day...glad to read what some of you are up to...Jolie and Lav - have you heard about the allergy relief that is supposed to come from eating a bit of local honey? I guess it has a minute amount of all the local allergens in it, just enough to make you immune.

Feeling kind of 'blah' today, maybe it is a planetary thing, or maybe staying up way too long last night watching the coverage, and then as always starting my day by 5:00 - I wish I could reset my dog's alarm clocks!

PMom - how did the weekend go? Star - are you ok? So sorry that you are going into this week tired - is some self-care called for? Chill - I LOVE being in a rental (like when there is something wrong, and I call the caretakers and they pay for everything...). Cassia - you hangin' in there?

Greetings to all for a great Tuesday - Cheers,
        to the light

Moving thru May - Week 1

          Good morning magic movers
Waking up here in my new bed in my new apartment for the 1st time, my stuff isn't here yet so I can't even make a cup of tea. When I closed the curtains last night it was so weird to see houses + street lights everywhere, I'm not used to being near people. Luckily its not noisy + I slept ok. This is all so strange but I have to keep putting one foot in front of the other + not look back.

I think it was Cyn who said about houses being free of AL memories and it does feel good that here there is no recall of empty wine bottles or horrendous hangovers. I will focus on that+ never have to worry about embarassing moments with my new neighbors. There is 6 apartments in my block and I'm on the top floor which is 2 storeys up.

I hope everyone is doing well, its hard to read back on this small phone and I'm not sure how long it will take to have internet connected. Sending you all my love.

                Good Morning Friends:

A quick morning check-in for me.

Chill - Glad to hear your are slowly getting adjusted to your new surrondings and sending you best wishes for strength and reassurance. You are going to be fine.

Jolie - Congratulations on 5 months - that is awesome! Doesn't it feel great?

Work is crazy busy for me right now. Trying to keep everything in perspective and not let it frustrate me too much. I am staying focused on my running - I have 3 more 5Ks that I'll be running between now and mid-June and then I'm planning to run a couple of half-marathons and a full marathon by November. I like the self-discipline that is required with training for the long runs and I truly believe it is one of the biggest 'tools' in my tool chest to stay focused on remaining AF.

Well, friends... hope you all have a great Tuesday. I will be heading out to St. Louis later today for most of this week... Will check in later.

                  5 months - big congratulations!

Just popping in to say hi - need to get in shower and get going - I am sleeping later as the days go on in my break!Final day of my holidays - I've really benefited from the time off - I feel properly relaxed.

I am vowing not to let work pressure get on top of me and to continue putting myself and my health first (exercise/switching off/eating well).

Moving thru May - Week 1

                    Good morning May movers...

PAguy, when do you find time to train for your runs....on the weekends? You sound as if you are determined to keep as balanced as you can in your work and personal life. Good for you.

Chill, culture shock for you for sure. It will take time but somehow you will get used to living in a more urban environment. Good thing you are balanced and have your coping skills in place. Imagine trying to do something like this while actively drinking. NO WAY. That is how I feel about myself. AF is a given, then good things follow. I know that you will create a peaceful loving environment within your new apartment. I am big into making whereever I spend time peaceful and comforting. A few bits and pieces, a good picture or two on the wall, some great books, a pet or two(in my case four) and you create your own world. It all just takes time....

Cyn, I am struggling right now, over the weekend I actually felt so stressed I was physically sick. I had to make a decision for health and wholeness...today my supervisor will probably tell me I have to....and I may just leave which I do not want to do. However, I want even less to be ill. She herself is not balanced in her life and has a sick work ethic and expects everyone else to sacrifice health and life to this job. I just plain will not do it. In a way I feel I have to make a statement for my fellow workers who are being treated with shame and fear....so unhealthy and unprofessional. I too start my day way to early and get burnt out by 8:00 p.m. That is one reason I do not have doggies right now, they loved to wake me up early. My cats could care less.

To all, have a great AF day:h

                      Good Morning May Movers,

                      Jolie-CONGRATULATIONS ON 5 MONTHS AF!!!

Chill-I know you'll adapt well to your new surroundings....especially since you are doing it AF. Good for you! I agree with Lav, my life was simpler when I had a 1-bedroom apartment. Smaller can be better.

Well, guys, I have decided to postpone taking my exam....I can take it as late as June 1. I am overwhelmed by the amount of material I must digest and feel next Tuesday is too soon. I've also been distracted by some business and personal concerns that have left me anxiety-ridden and have affected my concentration. On a positive note, I remain AF.

Paguy-good luck in St. Louis. I have spent a huge amount of time there as several college classmates were from there.

Star-you must be so anxious to leave. Sorry your supervisor is making your life miserable.

Lav-sorry your potential customer was a naughty no-show.

I'm off to the gym. I need to blow off some steam.

To everyone else, have a great AF Tuesday.

Not raining at the moment - nice!

Jolie - CONGRATS ON YOUR 5 AF MONTHS NEIGHBOR!!!!! :wd::yay:
Bet you thought it wasn't possible :H
Keep it going, it's the best

Chill, when will your things arrive? I can't live without my coffee maker!!!

Star, don't let those idiots make you sick. Just leave, screw them - you sure as hell can't control them. Take care of yourself first :l

Rusty, glad you can postpone the exam. That should take a lot of pressure off!

I need to get out & lecture my hens after yesterday's poor performance
                        They need to do better!

                        Have a good Tuesday all!

Moving thru May - Week 1

                          Morning all -
Lav, I would love a YouTube video of you lecturing the hens! What fun that would be...

PA - bon voyage, and glad to hear about your running discipline, a great model.

Jolie - CONGRATS, hope the weather cooperates for a nice celebratory ice tea out on your deck.

Rusty - sounds like you really needed a breather, I'm so glad you can take some time. Good luck with whatever all the other stuff is...

Star - you come first, your health, your mind, your spirit. You are right, you could be a great catalyst for that workplace...good luck...

Chill - I was positively undone the first morning in my new place, as I had forgotten where I put my tea, pot, and water heater. I get it! Ditto Star's comment on major culture shock...but you've been led here, and it is the right place, and it all will turn out fine. I say take it slowly, and be extra gentle to yourself. Maybe buy some nice tea today, and essential oils? (PS - do you know about the Bach flower remedies? Some Rescue Remedy cream might be just the ticket - you too, Star, and maybe Rusty?)

Greetings to all to come -

                            Hi everyone

Just a quick hello from me and huge congratulations to Jolie. Spent the day in the city looking for stuff for my daughters art exam. She is making a puppet. Exhausted from walking around the streets, much harder than hill walking!!! Will catch up on all the news tomorrow.

                              Hi again all,

Rusty - That's great news that you can postpone your exam until 1st of June. At least it will take some of the pressure off and you have done so much work so far in preparation which will stand you in good stead.

Star - I am curious to know how you got on at work today. No one has the right to make you physically ill! You are leaving there shortly I believe. Don't put up with any crap! I hope it all went ok today.

Cyn - good to see you! are you feeling less blah today?

Rustop61 - wow - your daughter's art exam sounds so cool! Puppets are just awesome!! What kind of puppet is it going to be?

PAguy - totally agree with you about running discipline. It is so important to run consistently. When I did a 10k a couple of years ago, I followed a running programme which really help me.

Lav - how many eggs have the hens laid today? Have they done better?

Jolie - many congrats on 5 months! Well done!

P3 - how did Friday go? any news from tuesday yet?

Dew - your weekend sounds amazing - good food, good company and good weather! Bliss!

A big hello to anyone else I might have missed.

So - the big thing for me right now is trying to organise a car. I have been in contact with two firms and I hoping one can meet my requirements. We will see though. It could be that I have unreasonable expectations. Hopefully they will just tell me. Anyway - wanted to type more but apparently that doesn't suit the cat so off I go.
