        Back again

I'm actually back in my shop hoping to finish off these shirts tonight because tomorrow is booked up with cooking, kiddies, etc.

Rusty, even as a kid I never got bored & I'll tell you why. The minute one of us would complain about being bored we were handed a dust rag or vacuum cleaner or something Worked like a charm every time I did the same thing with my kids too so they developed lots of interests. It's not too late for you to learn to sew, quilt, knit o something!! If you can get to a class everything is on Yuo Tube these days

Chill, you do sound like an anxious 16 yeard old :H Glad he got in touch wiithyou!

Hi Cassia - is it hot enough here for you? Phew!!

I haven't Googled papmom yet, hmmm.

Oh Chill-that is soooo cute!! You know, guys just don't think the way we do and for him I'm betting his noncommunicato wasn't an issue at all and he had every intention of calling you as soon as the neighbor's left. Enjoy being 16 again!!

Rusty-I'm with Lav! yes my dogs are definitely my main interest but I've dabbled in birdwatching, wood carving, knitting, crocheting, xcross stitch and now quilting and gardening. My fav so far is Quilting but gardening is a close second (can only do in the summer tho) and the birdwatching I was very involved with BD (before dogs). I still love my backyard birds and always have binos with me. Oh and let's not forget my newest interest in camping! Haven't done it yet but do remember fond times with family and frriends throughout my life. I'm also involved in a cool phone game of scrabble called Words with Friends. I had the app pick someone for me but you can choose whoever you want as long as they are signed up. I think the key is just try something, anything, once or twice. If you like it great, if not, move onto something else. You won't know what catches your interest until you try it. I bet your deck looks gorgeous!! have fun at your sis's tomorrow!!

Lav-YEA for the new grill!! That's awesome that YB stepped up to the plate like he did! Enjoy it while it lasts-maybe the light has gone on? Maybe not but the flash was nice!!

Cass-hope this Hot and Humid weather is a nice change for you!! How was the surprise party?

So I 'm just back from the BBQ at my sisters. Just her, my BIL, my niece and my dad. The older neph is dirtbiking it up in Maine and the younger neph had friends over and for some reason could wait for the meat to cook so they all went to 5Guys instead. When they got back they hit the pool while we ate. Nice and relaxing evening. I sat out by the pool before dinner chatting and reading (no swimming tonite-stepping on the scale before I left was a big mistake!!). I'm almost done with Wicked Appetite(a spin off of the Stephanie Plum series by janet evanovich) and it will be the first book i've finished in months!! except for the audio books of course. I have to say I sort of looked longingly at the bottle of wine sitting in front of me all evening. I think I was bored with plain water-no lemons in the house. However, in my minds eye I saw myself taking that bottle by the neck and swigging the whole thing right down!! Needless to say I didn't even reach for it! No moderation for this gal obviously!! :H Once we ate and I had my cranberry/seltzer to sip I was fine.

Before going to dinner I spent the morning mowing and trimming and banishing the ticks if there were any. Yard looks pretty darn good!! I didn't want to overdue it again so after lunch I did laundry and started switching out my clothes. I'm happy with the productivity this weekend even tho didn't get to everything on my list.
Tomorrow is house cleaning in the morning, my dad comeing by to look at the camper again-I'm convinced there is a battery in there somewhere but can't find it. Maybe he can. Tomorrow afternoon I'm going with my friend to pick up some agility equipement she bought off a club member. I think she's going to let me "borrow" the weave poles until I can afford to buy them.

When I got home tonite the willow fencing was pretty much down. Either the dog next door jumped on it or a good stiff breeze took it down. Back to the drawing board!!

              Good Monday Memorial Day Everyone:

I hope everyone has a fun day today.

Cassia-glad you got a run in. It must have felt great.

Lav and Papmom-I've tried taking art classes, knitting, crocheting....they are not things I'm interested in. Lav, I think you misunderstood me to say I'm bored....no, I'm not...just hoping some fun passion clicks for me.

I'm off. Have a great day everyone!

                Happy Memorial Day May Movers!

I have about a thousand things to do (mostly in the kitchen) so I will be busy for sure today.

Rusty, I have noticed as I've aged that the things that used to make me the happiest just don't work that way anymore. I don't know if it's a result of aging, leftover depressive feelings or what but I just don't feel the same way about the old things anymore. BUT I do have a brand new passion & that's the grandkiddies. They do spark real & true feelings of joy.

Wishing everyone a safe & sober Memorial Day!

                Lav

Hey Rusty-Nope, didn't think you were bored-just was able to get it with the passion thing. You will find it-I forgot to put in Agility as my number one I have a choice passion (my doggies are my everyday passion) and I never would have gotten into it and fell in love with it if I hadn't gotten into Rescue and ultimately adopted DD. All things happen for a reason. Knitting and crocheting don't do it for me either but for some reason quilting does. Maybe your passion will lie more in community service, like DG has found. Or not. again, just trying different things that seem remotely interesting will open up whole new worlds of passion for you!!

Cass-I didn't realize the surprise party was for you!!!!! YEA! Glad you had a good time and that your are enjoying the hot and humid weather!!

Raining here but not supposed to cool off any. Tstorms this afternoon-probably as we're transporting the agility equipment. :upset:

Moving thru May - Week 4

What a lovely weekend it’s been and we have been so lucky with the weather. Friday night I had my little grand daughter who is just back from visiting her grandparents in Poland who haven’t seen her for a year. They were so delighted to have her and their daughter home for a while, she is almost bi-lingual but is speaking more Polish after being there for a week and it’s just so funny being corrected by a 2 ? year old because my Polish is almost non-existent! Her Mum who is Polish is very good with languages she speaks fluent English, Russian and German and speaks communicative (that’s how she explains it which means she can communicate but isn’t fluent) Spanish and Italian, the only language she has trouble with is French which is the only language that I can speak!! My son and DIL don’t want her to learn Polish as they don’t think she will need the language but they do think that if she learns a few languages at an early age she will adapt and pick up other languages easily, it’s a skill that they want her to have, her Mum reckons that she can learn to have an ear for languages as she has and I have to agree.

Saturday I spent the night at my parents because on Sunday we had our Charity walk which was a great day out, Mum and I did the 13 mile walk along the coastal path to raise funds for local charities, I didn’t think Mum would make it because she is 76 and has arthritis in her knees and ankles but she was determined and we had raised a lot of money. I had planned to power walk it but there were over 160 people walking at different times and I stayed with Mum so that she had company and we talked the whole walk. Anyhow we did it in 3 and a half hour so I was very impressed that Mum was able to do it in that time. She did struggle a bit as we got to the last mile but when I asked her if she wanted to stay there and I’d come back and get her with the car she told me ‘I’ always finish what I start so I’m not giving up now – and don’t you give up on me neither’. So that was me told off!! It was a lovely morning and we were very lucky with the weather as the wind was in our back and the sun shone most of the morning. If you are interested just google ‘Fife Coastal Path Elie to Crail’, we did the longer walk which starts earlier and ends later than the basic walk.

Today has been a Bank Holiday Monday off work which is lovely but I can’t believe that we are looking at moving into June this week, where has the year gone? I have been in a bit of a flat mood today don’t know why but it’s hung around all day so I hope it passes quickly. I bought a bunch of red/pink roses on my way home yesterday as a treat and this morning they were all drooping in the vase and that sums up my day. However I know that an early night and good sleep can change things around.

I managed to get a lot done in the garden again today; the weather has been good for us on the east coast of Scotland so far I’m not sure what it’s been like in Troon but we are warm on this coast. I do love this time of year as we move into the summer with the garden, my garden is very much a summer garden so it is starting to blossom and I just love it. The roses are blooming around the door, the clematis and honeysuckle are all scrambling all over the place and it all looks good. The tumbling tomatoes are tumbling and the peas are zooming up the peasticks and the narstursums and sunflowers are growing like weeds in their pots for the grandkids.

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend to everyone,

                    Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Moving thru May - Week 4

Good Morning Movers and welcome to the final day of May!
Are we all happy to move into Joyful June tomorrow or have we any last minute entries?

Dewdrop - I know Pittenweem, my parents used to have a holiday cottage in Kingsbarns just outside St Andrews, a beautiful part of the world. Awesome that your Mum made 13 miles! My Mum is 74 and her knees so badly affected by arthritis she could never do that.

I love this conversation Rusty has started about our passions! I actually have always thought I lacked passion for anything in particular but she has got me thinking. I am very passionate about my exercise and about my healthy living. I am also passionate about healthy thoughts and work every day at what's going on inside my mind. I bet Rusty if you thought about it you will find you are passionate about lots of things, your passion for life itself spills out on these pages and we all feel it.

Well am afraid after my glimmer of hope the other night the Doc didn't come through :upset: he sent a couple of texts but never called and I didn't hear from him yesterday at all which was a holiday here. He is obviously not interested and I wish he'd just taken the "out" I gave him instead of letting me think otherwise. I know I didn't know him long but I really liked him, everything we did was fun and I'm feeling a bit despondent.

Anyway I shall dust myself down and get busy! The sun is actually out here so after spin I intend to have a huge long walk with Elle, I miss getting out in nature and fresh air and need that connection. This afternoon I shall do more job searches online and also have a May summary for you guys

                        Good morning everyone

Did not get near the computer at all yesterday. Hubby is going to Norway on a fishing trip and was getting his stuff together yesterday and its in the office where the computer is kept so I stayed out of his way!

Busy week again, oldest daughter having block classes and the younger one is doing work experience in a private hospital so lots of driving.

Speaking about what we are passionate about. I love my walks, I enjoy the ones with the doggies but what I really love is hill walking. I am looking forward to joining a local walking club when the girls leave home. Their walks take 4/5 hours so cant fit it in at the moment. I also love reading and am looking forward to getting back into going to the theatre, another love of mine. I also want to fit in more meditation and then there is gardening. I am actually looking forward to the next phase of my life when I can do the things I want to do again.

Dew - very impressed with your Mom. I would love to do that type of walk. Hope hubby will go fishing to Scotland one of these days. It's a bit too like Ireland for him but maybe one day.

Chill - Sorry it did not work out with the Doc but you never know what is around the next corner. good luck with the job search.

Everyone else big hello and have a great day.

                        Rustop

and Rustop has been running her girls all over the place!

We've had exams, interviews, birthdays and anniversaries.
F**kwit supervisors, financial woes, problem sons and YB's.
Many goodbyes, lots of hellos, dating and Buddhist retreats.
We have been to the dark side of the moon,
                          suffered fatigue and endless allergies.

We have been biking, gardening, removing wallpaper and
                          listening to HayHouse Radio.
Visiting the Harley Museum, making beautiful baby blankets
                          and got a new Paphut!

There have been Amish Ladies, birds nests, new pets,

Rusty's endless energy, humor and travels......

We've discussed our passions, AL urges and our choices,
                          our abandonment and our Mums,
dealt with extreme stresses and worked on our relaxation and our growth.

On a global scale we have had Obama in the UK & Ireland,
had erupting Volcanoes, hurricanes and extremely crappy weather.

All of this dealt with in our usual impressive way,
encouraging and supporting each other and being there when sometimes
the rest of the world seems so far away.

Chill - wonderful summary (as usual). You really have a gift for this!

I have missed you guys! Left work on Thursday afternoon and never got on the computer once! (my daughter was home most of the weekend and darn - those laptops are just too portable!)

Anywho, it was a nice weekend for me all in all. Didn't start out that way though. Went home Thursday night and stripped the bathroom in preparation for the much anticipated wallpaper removal event. So - let's just say it didn't go as planned. I rented the steamer and after 4 hours and only half the bathroom done, I gave up. I actually made myself almost sick as it was about 80+ degrees in my house - husband didn't think it was warm enough to turn the air on It didn't come off nearly as easily as I'd hoped.

Calling a professional to do it - I'm done with it and I will not waste any more of my time. Went to dinner with some friends of ours on Saturday night - non-drinkers and always a lot of fun to hang around with.

And now I will bore you guys with my final bird story of the season! I've been watching these 4 baby birds hatch from eggs into cute little birdies - This weekend I was waiting for them to leave the nest as they were running out of room in there! Went to let my cat out Saturday evening around 9:30 and he acted like he was afraid of something - turned the outside light on to make sure one of my little birdies hadn't fallen out of the nest (birds are very high on my cat's list of entree's) - climbing up my front door on its way to the birds nest was a 6' long black snake. Eeeeek! Hubby got rid of him - but would you believe the very next day there was another one out on my deck heading for nest as well? Hubby took care of that one as well as one more that he found around our back door. Now I tell you - I think I've had enough of snakes for one year. And long story short, was sitting out on my deck talking to my mom on the phone last night when the first little birdy hopped out of the nest onto my deck. It was the funniest thing - the rest just kind of followed! My little baby birdies are all grown up!

Well - this heat is just too much for my pre-menopausal body to deal the past few days. I want to go back to 70 degrees! Hope it cools down soon.

Hope all you guys had a great holiday weekend!
