Gorgeous day in MA! Still seeing horrible video on the news about the cleanup in Western/south Central MA. One guy in springfield rented a Uhaul and filled it with cat food to try to lure any of his cats out from under is flattened home in case they are still alive. Makes me wonder how many he had that he had to fill a Uhaul with food? also makes me want to go out there and help him look. Springfield is very large city and they didn't say on the news where he was. frustrating.

Will try to wash the Paphut today before it rains. Hope I have the tools needed to scrub away the dark streaks and make it shine again!

Wow Pap where is everyone? I need this thread, it is my inspiration. DG posted yesterday a very short post on the AA thread but that was it. I to wonder how many cats the poor guy had, a uhaul! Wow. Well I'm here working from home this weekend trying to get my $$ up, aren't we all. Also I have all my normal chores plus home work. Me and my mom went shopping for a swim suit for my 14 year old yesterday. 5 hours and 4 stores later we were all ready to kill each other but. . .we found her a swim suit. You couldn't pay me to be that age again.

I'll check in later, even if its just you and me pap we can hang on till the others get back!

Papmom: I usually don't share at this thread, but I happened into it. I too live MA...western MA. My area didn't see any damage, but just south of us, there was plenty. It's been awful to watch on TV.

I see that you just celebrated 1 year. How wonderful! I'm sure your life has changed in that year. I know my has:
-no hangovers
-no regret
-no dishonesty
-no wondering what I did/said
-no shame
-etc.

The list goes on & on.

Good morning all Abstinistas. I check this thread every morning now. If I am home and not off working in the weeds some where. Its something I do with my coffee and my latest photos on screen. I have learned a bit about the people on here, and found it very inspiring. P3 and Mary, what a disaster...hope you stay safe. Jenny, I remember well the search for suitable clothing for my two girls and how if I wanted something I thought was hideous to be rejected, for sure, all I had to do was suggest it might be suitable... ha ha. Last night was the fireworks display for our local summer festival and in previous years I was often passed out cold by then, so here are some fireworks, taken from my back porch.... have a great day out there, one thing is for sure.... kas

It's not dying - it's just a little nap!

The party was nice last night. It was for a friend's son's high school graduation. I know she was glad to have adult friends there, especially with ex husb there with wife in tow.

Been to the river already since it will be 98 today and it stays humid here. Good day for indoor things the rest of the day.

Mary-So nice to see you on this thread! Please do pop in as much as you want! My bro and his family live in Pelham. I was so frightened for them as at first no one knew what direction this thing was going in. I knew you lived in MA but wasn't sure whereabouts. I love W. MA and would love to live and work out there but UMass has worse salary ranges than where I work so I would be taking a huge cut whatever position I was interested in. Thanks for the encouragement on my 1 year. Yes, I would say overall life is sooooo much better but not everything that was wrong disappeared when I went AF . Oh well, some I have control over, some I don't.

Jenny-you stick with me girl! For some reason I totally remember clothes shopping with my mom at your daughter's age and I'm pretty sure I'm lucky to be alive!! Glad you made it through and there won't be anymore suit buying for another year!!

I'll be popping in with status updates. I've just come in from washing the Paphut, washing my car and bleaching the seat cover for the swing I got last nite from former neighbors. I've also hung laundry and read the Sunday paper and it isn't even noon yet!! This afternoon I think I might try painting the stripes on the Paphut. Pink of course! I was going to wirebrush the wheelwells and then paint them with metal primer and white paint but I'm thinking they need to be taken off and taken apart otherwise the 2 parts of the wheels will be painted shut. Probably the best thing is to have the RV place paint them when I take it to have brakes installed. The poor Paphut needs a total paint job. It looks a little cleaner than before but the aluminun has those spots on it I can't even bleach out. I wonder how hard it would be (and how messy) to spray paint it. Probably not something I can do in my driveway seeing as I share it with my neighber. Oh well, it will do for now.

OK, off to scrunge up a proper WW Simply Filling lunch and then more work.

I am af - ate lots too much this weekend but no booze - lazy nice times.
I am back from my first skate session in 8 weeks - loved it - knee a bit sore but good to be back on 8 wheels.

Edited to say Uni cant believe you have a hub who wont help you out, that just sucks. Wish I could help.

Re pets and fireworks... only a cat who is oblivious to most things, a budgie and a senegal parrot who seem to not notice but they are in bed by then and a bomb could go off.... (dont ask why I have two birds and a cat....teenage children is the short answ.) BUT it does scare the shizer out of the bears deer etc and they swim the river at high water to get away, and I suspect a few of them drown... I photo this from my back deck... hate crowds. Love to all. Back to the gdoon.
