Hi everyone

Have not had much computer time the last few days so have a lot of catching up to do. Just thought I would start us off on our second week.

Hope all of you in the US are safe, what a year weather wise. LBH wish I could send some of our rain to you to help out with the fires.

Chill - I take it you are off for an interview so good luck. I am sure it will all work out for you.

Papmom - you too, loved the photos of the papmobile.

Daughter has English over and it did not go well so the humour isnt great. Paper I in maths today. She is such a perfectionist and puts such pressure on herself. All I can do is be there and let her vent.

Off for my walk in a few minutes. Hope everyone has a great AF week-end.

Hi all, wishing you all well. I have not been around much, under the weather with flu but feeling much better today. Looking forward to catching up.

Rustop being there for your daughter is wonderful. The shoulder to cry on and the hug so dear. I hope the rest of her exams go well.

Belated Happy Birthday to Cyn. What a lot you have going on in your life and doing it AF. Way to go :h:h Yourself and Lav prove that it is never too late to change lifestyle and habits.

Sun is out this morning so am about to take the doggies for their walk. The weather like elsewhere has been very up and down the past few weeks. Am making the most of it while it is nice.

Evening Guys

You wouldnt believe what happened today?! I was contacted by someone who has a 30 villa resort in Portugal asking me if I would consider going back to live there and manage the resort, free accomodation would be provided....!!! If I had received that offer 3 months ago, i would have taken it. Whatever is going on, the Universe has obviously decided its time to spice up my life! I cant believe the amount of options im attracting, its blowing my mind. Not that I cant handle it, I say bring it on world, Chill is ready

Lav-still awake? I get soooo tired just reading about you and EB :H

Went to my neice's dance recital this afternoon and it was great-too long as always but the custumes were stunning. My neice did so well-nailed the hip hop dance. not so much the jazz dance. She really does get into the hip hop. I think it's perfect for her coordination problems and hip/gait problems. Watching her up there you'd never know she had any problems at all!!

It's so cold and rainy here and I have no motivation to do anything but make dinner and snuggle with the boys. Tomorrow I had planned to finally clean my house top to bottom but I got roped into flower/veggie shopping with my dad and sis for his dad's day gift. Not sure I'm even included on this but I guess it's nice she asked me to go. Hope I get done early enough to put some kind of dent in the pigsty!! Had also planned a pedi today with sis but recital got out too late.

No lunch for me today-almond joy bar and string cheese when I got home. Not very WW friendly but I'll have a good dinner.

I also finished off the curtains for my daughter-in-law this morning. She's going to owe me big someday

Still hot & humid here - no rain!
I sat outside a little while ago & used the Furninator on Maxie. Dear God that dog has soooo much hair
I came back inside just before dark to wash my hands, looked out the kitchen window & saw a deer munching on the grass dangeroulsy near my garden. Max never even noticed ~ nice watch dog! I'll have to dock her pay :H

Joyful June - Week 2

Good morning guys

Lav - how lovely to see a dear so close! I miss the goats that frequented my hedge for part of their dinner and falling asleep to the sound of owls and crickets. I miss all the spiders, gekos and lizards I shared my space with too....

I'm quite cross with myself this morning. I ate the crapiest diet all last week, getting worse as it went on and topping it off last night with a dinner that consisted of crackers and cheese (dairy never agrees with me) a large family bag of crisps (potato chips) and a tub of chocolate alsortments. I woke up at 4am with extreme stomach pains, a sugar hangover and I swear every cell in my body was throbbing. Why oh why do we do things when we already know the consequences of our actions will be unpleasant?! It's like a repeat of the whole AL thing! Are we wrongly wired in some way? I always eat badly when I'm anxious, when I'm calm and peaceful I'm the most disciplined person but give me an ounce of stress and I'm off to the cookie jar!

Joyful June - Week 2

Good morning everyone

Dreadful morning here but this rain and wind was promised. Oh well, no walk but like you Pap, I need to clean my pigsty of a house!! You seem to have had a nice day with your family, you are lucky to have them so close.

Wow, Chill you certainly are attracting all sorts of positive things, I am so happy for you. You are probably right about the stress. I have had exactly the same sort of week as you. Have been doing so well at weight watchers and eating right. This week I went completely off the rails, 4 bags of crisps in one day, chocolate, junk you name it! It probably is the stress of the exams, I had not thought of that.

Hope you get some rest Lav. Luckily the deer dont come as close as our garden but we meet them all the time in the woods and the sight and scent of them drives the dogs wild.

Have nothing major planned for today. Hubby is back from his fishing trip so I have to pick him up at the airport this evening. Going to read the papers, cook a nice dinner and of course clean, ugh!

Joyful June - Week 2

Good morning to all....

Hope everyone got their cleaning done, it is the one thing in life that shows instant results!! It never stays that way, but I always get satisfaction right after I clean up. Had a good day yesterday, worked hard to finish laundry, cleaning, and oil change, plus did yard work in the afternoon, pulling tons of weeds from various areas in my yard. My hands hurt today, but it looks good. The weather here cooled off, it is actually cold, in the high 50s, with a brisk wind, but sunny. I love it, I will be outside today as much as possible.

Chill and Rustop, interesting to hear that with stress you made questionable food choices and after the immediate reward, felt lousy. I do that too, and it is never worth it for me. I was talking to a friend who is in really good shape, who was telling me that she is reallly working on not only making good choices, but looking at portion control. She said her husband pointed out (in the nicest way I am sure) that she was eating as much as he was. I know I do that too, only I am much smaller than he is and need less food. The ongoing battle for all of us.

Rustop, sorry to hear your daughter is so hard on herself, but in a way that is good too. What a great family you have. Enjoy the good weather while you can.

Chill, isn't that amazing, to be offered a job in Portugal, now, after you have moved and all. Well, that is the way it goes while job hunting, replies come weeks to months later. Timing is such a big part of any major life decision. How wonderful to be offered such a responsible position. I know the agony of trying to decide on what job to take as it affects so much....I am liking my new job in every way except for the money part, but that should be coming in soon. I guess one makes a choice and tries not to look back. There are always what ifs, because there are so many paths we can choose. The great part is that we have choices. For a long time I was not getting responses to job openings and it made me question my worth. You are a great interviewee, look at how people want you!!! What is going on for the rest of your weekend?

Lav, it is next to impossible to change husbands, I have discovered. Or anyone else for that matter. Has the weather cooled off there yet? It should be coming, I believe.

Papmom, it is good to have a cozy rainy day to just chill. We all need that sometimes.

Joyful June - Week 2

Chill-did I mention to you guys my twinkie and frito binge on Thursday after I got the news about what it would cost to retrofit the paphut with brakes? Talk about repeat of AL behavior!! I felt so horrible by the time i went to bed and the funny thing was, all day long, the more I consumed the junk, the more deep into the dark hole of depression I fell. by the time we were all in the basement riding out the storm, I was seriously hoping for a tornado to come by and take everything with it!! Just my house of course, not me or the paps!! I just wanted to start over I guess.
I've decided that one of my goals is to get to my goal weight at WW and then become a lifetime member. Once do that I can apply for a receptionist position. So, everytime I'm about to eat or drink anything I ask myself, will this help move me towards my goal? If it is no, then I don't put it in my mouth.I hope this tact will really help me this time.

Lav-glad you survived another EB onslaught!!

Had a nightmare of a drinking dream last nite. Not sure where it was coming from. I was with friends and family I think, hanging out on a lounge chair talking very busily. I got handed a beer and before I knew it I had downed the whole thing. Right as I finished it I realized what I had done and realized I had just thrown away a whole year of hard work. I was beside myself and of course all of you were on my mind then. At that precise moment, an expert in addiction had just gotten hired at whatever place I was at and before she even had a chance to unpack I begged to have a session with her. I of course was very distraught. I must have woken up because I don't remember any words of wisdom that she might have told me and I don't know what I decided to do. I was pretty shaken up when I did finally awake. Mostly because I could see how mindless an action that could be in a comfortable setting. I do know that I had no intentions of going on a drinking binge-one was quite enough to scare the shite out of me. Oh, and I haven't had a beer in years!!
So on this gray and rainy day, I will sign off for a while. Not sure my dad wants to still go plant shopping in this weather but we'll see.
