    Joyful June - Week 3/4

Here ya go Chill: Burn Notice - TV Series, Spy Show, Characters, Schedule, Videos & Photos - USA NETWORK -Burn Notice - USA Network

I'm confused as to why your parents have to keep Elle overnight? Isn't your new job in the town you are currently living in? Sorry if I got things mixed up. It will all work out-I promise you!

Dew-glad to hear from you. I can only imagine all the thoughts running through your head after what you have been through. Give yourself some time to heal. Things will look better and answers will be had in due time.

Cyn-so good to hear from you too! Sounds like you are being VERY productive at your mom's. You are handling all memories and emotions well. Keep up the good work and think how nice it will be to have your mom in a low maintenance living space, all pared down and simplified.

Busy busy day today! Cleaned one half of the house so I feel much better on that front. Also had someone from freecycle come by and dig up a bunch of plants to take back to her rental house on the lake. She and I dug up a ton but it barely made a dent. I had some dug up ones left over that she didn't want so put them out on the sidewalk. Almost immediately a woman stopped and picked through. I offered her some shade plants too which we then proceeded to dig up for her. I think I can give myself 10 WW activity points for today! I'm beat!! Luckily there was no rain and it was fairly cool, high 70's so it wasn't unbearable to do this type of work. Still didn't get the back tundra mowed tho. Sigh. It's not going anywhere but up that's for sure :H

Think I'll eat early and get to bed early for once.

      Joyful June - Week 3/4

      Good Evening June Friends,

Dew-sending you healing vibes. Is there anything we/I can do to help you? Are you in pain? If I'm not invading your privacy, what was the outcome of your surgery? Please feel free to PM me if needed/wanted.:l:h

Chill-Have you tried giving Elle the pink Benadryls? I give my 24-pound-dog just one when there are thunderstorms and it quiets him right away. Great to hear that Mr. Grouch turned out to be ok.

Cyn-thanks for checking in....wow, what an emotional rollercoaster you must be on. Bravo for being AF.

Mylife-My mom wanted to take an Alaskan Winter Cruise years ago but my dad was such a stick-in-the-mud that she never got to go. :upset: Good for you for doing it. I will Google the places you mentioned in your post.

Papmom-I am going to check out Freecycle. You are a fund of information and I am so glad.

Lav-Lily is such a beauty. Lots of broken hearts when she grows up.

I tried out my bike today and rode 5.5 miles. I am sunburned, sore and happy. I felt so free and alive. I have a boatload of paperwork to do before I leave for Tennessee tomorrow.

Shoutout to Paguy, Cassia, Jolie, LBH, Sooty, Shelley, Dill, Mr. G, hope you're having a peaceful Sunday evening.

Chill like P3 I?m sure everything will work itself out and you will find a way to juggle working, going to the gym and walking Ellie and I am confident that you will not only find your soulmate but enjoy the search. Life has been good to you so far.

        P3
what a productive day you had and how generous to use freecycle to share your garden plants you really are a kind hearted person :l I don?t think we have anything like that in Scotland but I?m going to check the internet and find out. I laughed at your description of the uncut grass ? it?s not going anywhere but up that?s for sure! that describes me and my grass today

Well it?s getting late and I am wide awake just as I expected, however I?m off to make a cuppa hot chocolate and read a book. I?ve decided I am going to work reduced hours tomorrow I have the option of working from home, reducing my working hours, being signed off etc and our sick policy is good (6 months full pay) but I really don?t want to hang about feeling sorry for myself. Also if I don?t feel up to it I can always come home and do admin, there?s a few things in my diary this week that I really don?t want to cancel so I am going to try and work around them. I?ll try and pace myself. We will soon be into July - any ideas of a name for the thread?

        Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Dew-6 months FULL pay? OMG! If we could only have it here in the States. I'm glad you have it in case you need it.

I'm still thinking of July names-but they've been used before-Jubilant, etc.

Dewdrop, I think when we hit 'granny age' we automatically begin to reassess everything. It's in our programming :H Hope you are getting some rest tonight.

                Good Morning June Friends,

I am leaving for the airport in just a few minutes and thought I would say hello....Nashville, TN is my destination this week.

Lav-I do not have the new car yet....ran to a few glitches with the "haggle-free" Enterprise people. GRRRRRR! Hopefully I will pick it up Thursday.

A wonderful AF Monday to all. Gotta run!

                  Joyful June - Week 3/4

                  Good morning everyone

It is hard to believe that we are into the last few days of June. Jubilant July sounds good or Jolly, Jump start (anyone struggling?), Jiggly (applies to some of us), jaunty, like this one as it signifies cheerful and energetic.

Dew - Sending you lots of healing vibes. It is good that you have the option of 6 months full pay, play it by ear and see how you feel.

Chill - Glad that you had good night with Mr Grouch, hope you get to arrange something for your doggie

Lav - What a beauty, Lily must have you all wrapped around her little finger. Good luck with trying to talk to YB.

P3 - What a productive day. You made me tired just reading about it. My Mom always said whatever you gave with a good heart, you always had given back tenfold. Bet there is something nice waiting for you around the corner.

Cyn - good to hear from you. Hang in there, its an emotional job.

Rusty - Are you tired after your long bike ride? Safe travels to Nashville.

Had a long, long day yesterday. We left for the show at 8 a.m. and did not get back until 8.30 p.m. She came second in the jumping and qualified for a big Connemara show at the end of the summer so she was pleased. We have had so much rain the last week, the field was a mess so I and lots others had to be pulled out of it by tractor. It was ok, I had been dreading having to have that done but the guy towing knew where everything was and it only took minutes. It was a 2 hour drive there and back plus I had two very late nights, 3.30 Friday and 2 am Saturday so I am a tired camper this morning. I would have liked to have had a lie in but my friend is going away today and wanted to walk at 9 a.m. I wont see her for two weeks, plus doggies got nothing yesterday so I said yes.

Star, Mylife, Jolie, Cassia, LBH, Sooty, John and everyone else I did not mention big hello and have a great week.

                    Joyful June - Week 3/4

                    Good morning Junesters....

Busy weekend for me around the house, we had the most beautiful warm sunny weather. Gardening, reading, bike riding, and just enjoying the summer.

Rusty, so glad you love bikeriding, it is a blast. I am so happy I have a bike too. It is something you can do easily and is a good workout, but not crazy hard.

Dewdrop, so smart of you to pace yourself at work and leave all your options open. It would be so nice to have a six-month paid leave if needed. Kind of a security blanket, but I understand not wanting to stay home unless you absolutely have to. I think it is normal to do a life review after a surgery, or othrs major life event. Taking stock is a sign of a life well lived. Healing energy to you.

Lav, Lily is a doll, what a lucky grandma you are. Hope your talk is productive.

Chill, I too have been questioning all kinds of things, especially on Sunday nights into Monday. I noticed a pattern and have been trying to focus on positive affirming thoughts. Both of us were in situations that cried out for change, we made the changes, now have to have confidence that with hard work and optimism, we are recreating our lives, guided by Divine Wisdom. It is hard to be 100% all the time though. What is it about Sunday nights? I think for me, mindfulness is the key. I tend to worry about the future, a useless endeavor, and very anxiety producing. Today, everything I do goes amazingly well, I am led by spirit to accomplish great things.

Rustop, how fun but exhausting!!! Get some time to yourself this week. Could you imagine doing what you do hungover? No way!

Papmom, you are in a good place right now, making progress in all life areas. Keep that optimism going. Such wonderful weather to enjoy the outdoors. I love June.

To all, have a great AF day.

                      Joyful June - Week 3/4

                      Good Monday Morning June friends,

What? No sun this morning!!! Oh well.

Rusty, sorry Enterprise gave you some crap. Hope it works out to your satisfaction this week.
                      Safe travels to you today

Rustop, congrats to your daughter again! She must be feeling great!!
Glad your tractor rescue went smoothely too. Isn't it amazing what we go through for our kids

Star, keeping myself in the present is the only way I can keep myself together. When my thoughts do wander to the past or the future I am now able to STOP, refocus myself with a few deep breaths & relax! Phew!!

Well, I did manage to get YB to stay for dinner yesterday. Got him to sit down when I knew he was ready to run & got him into some 'normal' conversation. Of course I didn't get him talking about things i really want to discuss. But at least this was a start. Now I have to figure out how to keep him in a more social frame of mind & not go crawling back under his rock

Wishing everyone a great AF Monday!

                        Joyful June - Week 3/4

                        Hello Junes,

I am up early for my last day in Alaska with my Mom. I've got a list of things to get done for her before I leave tonight - my flight (like most of the flights out of here) leaves around midnight - not looking forward to that, but just part of the trip I guess!

Cyn, I can very much relate to all the emotions you're feeling. Although I've enjoyed the trip it's also a "checking in" trip to help out my ageing Mom. I can definitely relate to seeing hoarding tendancies! I've brought bags of old papers etc. to the garbage and I barely made a dent. I did find some real gems however, including a diary of my great grandmother!

Chill - thanks so much for the kind words. Hang in there with your new job. As you get used to it you will feel more stability in your life and feel less vulnerable. And I agree it certainly sounds like you have a soul mate right around the corner in your future!

Lav, I would love some of your veggies and fresh eggs! Must be nice to have all that out your back door. I picked rhubarb here at my Moms and made a couple of pies. She used to have fantastic vegtable gardens, but now mostly just flowers.

Dew - I agree with Rusty. 6 Months full pay!! We can only fantasize about something like that here in the US! And even then it won't happen. :H

Rusty - sorry to hear your Mom never got to come here. It's a gorgeous place, I recommend it highly for a visit - just plan it in the summer!

Jolie, Cass, Rustop, and any others I've missed have a fantastic day.

                          Joyful June - Week 3/4

Sending you healing thoughts, Dew, sometimes it helps me to visualize in an anthropomorphic way everything gently weaving back together, it is natural to heal and thrive. I am still keeping a low profile these days, it is not our usual glorious June given all of the wildfires in every direction. The weather has been extreme here with a record nine below zero (-28C) last Winter and now 100 or more (38+). Many communities are breaking heat records not by a degree or two but by eight. It so astonishingly dry and windy, however, as long as one is not out in the sun or the greater path of fire and smoke, the temperature doesn?t really feel bad and loses 30 or 40 degrees at night. Yet another fire broke out north of here yesterday afternoon and has already reached forty-four thousand acres, all the loss of precious wildlife in the past two months is beyond my emotional grasp. My own little oasis is safe and beautiful but it is hard not to get caught up in the overall sense of anxiety and sadness that is relentlessly in the wind. Enough of this, I shall get back later with something more pragmatic and within my sphere of influence. In the meantime I shall be thinking of all of you and taking care of the things that I can. By the way, mylife, I recall the odd flights out of Alaska and the tiny airports filled hardy adventurers and at least one person in a wedding dress who had been waiting for a couple of days. At least in my case the planes never seemed to go where I needed; over shooting my destination by hours so that I had to then work my way back, I always looked down forlornly as we blasted over the Rockies. Love, Ladybird.
                          may we be well

mylife, have a safe trip home.
I'm sure you will handle whatever awaits you at home with ease! You've shown much strength on your journey so far

LBH, hard to believe those fires are still burning! Two of them have popped up in a forrested area of NJ ~ both likely to have been started ny lightning. Not much you can do to prevent that I suppose. Glad you are OK,

I posted this pic of my Araucana - the blue egg laying hen on another thread but wanted to post it here as well. She's very pretty

                              Good morning everyone

Bright and beautiful morning here so off in a few minutes to walk the doggies. So sorry to hear about the fires still burning LBH. Glad that you are safe in your little oasis though. What a pretty chicken Lav, very unusual.

Had a busy day yesterday, its amazing how much you get done when you actually get to stay at home! Very much going with the flow this summer, taking it one day at a time. Got lots done in the house and phone calls, paperwork etc. Still have not heard from the US regarding my daughters citizenship so cant plan a holiday. Looks like it will be a short few days at this stage but not to worry. Last year we dealt with a really lovely girl and everything was processed so quick for us. Just as well as my daughter was nearly 18. Unfortunately she seems to have left that department. Luckily we dont have the same pressure with this daughter as she is just 17 and we have a year.

Hope everyone has a great AF day.

                                Joyful June - Week 3/4

Good morning to all on this lovely June day. Perfect weather today, too bad I will be working and unable to enjoy the outdoors. I plan on going for a bike ride early, then a few chores, then work.

I had a really slow day yesterday, hopefully today will be busier. I am working on flowing with what happens, and being in the present.

Lav, love your chicken. How great to be out in the country and so close to nature. I love fresh eggs and veggies, too. I agree about focusing on the present and being mindful, it is the only way to keep your mind and have peace.

Rustop, enjoy your day, it is great to have a stay at home day to catch up and get things done.

LBH, I understand about laying low, so sorry about the continued wild fires. Hope you are spending some time in your lovely garden/yard. I love early mornings and evenings for time outdoors.

Dewdrop, continued positive healing thoughts and energy sent your way.

Chill, take care of yourself this week, it is exciting but stressful to start new employment. They are so lucky to have hired you.

Mylife, safe trip and what a wonderful healing time for you. You have helped your mother so much and created great memories during this trip.

To all, have a great AF day.
