    Joyful June - Week 3/4

Good morning Rustop, Star & all to come today

Clouds overhead & a T storm predicted this afternoon but that's not going to stop me from meeting my friends for lunch! I really need that lifeline - it's been a big part of my stay sane program
I am going to load up the trunk of my car with eggs & veggies & have them 'shop their hearts out' :H

Dewdrop, how are you doing today?
Chill, thinking about you as well & hope your week is going OK.
mylife, hope you are home safe & sound
    Jolie, where are you?

Have a wonderful AF Tuesday one & all!

      Joyful June - Week 3/4

      Good evening guys!

I made it home - felt a little ridiculous carrying my big wool sweater through the airport in Florida. The first thing I did when I got home was get rid of the heavy clothes - they won't be seen again until December here!

Ladybird - I remember when the airports in AK were small and full of adventurous spirits - now they're pretty big and full of tourists. I guess it's still tourists with a spirit of adventure. I grew up there, so it's always bittersweet for me to see the changes. My other home was in Colorado - so I can relate to the Rockies as well!

Lav, I swear I never thought of owning a Chicken until I've seen all your posts and pictures! You make it sound like so much fun! Love the pics.

Star - thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy I went - my Mom is getting pretty old and frail and I felt really happy that I did this.

Have a wonderful AF night all!

        Joyful June - Week 3/4

        Good evening all!

        Welcome home mylife!
I can just imagine the weather difference between AK & FL
Owning chickens is kind of a fun hobby but it can be a dirty one too :H
I get angry with myself when I forget to jump into my muck shoes before tending to them (then I have to hose off my good shoes & leave them out to dry - yuck). They are very friendly birds, very nosey too They love my grandson & some of them will let him pick them up & carry them around :H

I had a nice lunch out with 2 former work friends. We all retired the nursing profession & still laugh about some of the days we put in together!

Speaking of chickens, it's time to go close them up for the night. Don't want a fox in the hen house :H

          Hi everyone

Just zooming in to wish everyone a happy hump day.

Healing vibes to Dew, hope you are improving every day.

Chill - how is the new job going, also the romance?

Have to bring my daughter to one of the universities, she has an interview so will be on the road most of the morning. Will check back later.

            Joyful June - Week 3/4

I am working from home today which is good but the sun is shining and I really want to go outside never mind, if I get through some of my workload fast enough I might catch a few rays later. Things are well here and I am taking it as easy as possible thank you so much for all your lovely thoughts, still feeling a bit up and down to be honest but that?s probably to be expected. I start my radiotherapy treatment next week for the next 4/5 weeks and I?m a bit apprehensive but am told there is nothing to worry about, most people sail through it with few problems. I am doing a few healing visualisations and meditating to keep a balance and ensure that I don?t go into pity party mode which is hovering in the background All I can say is thank goodness I?m AF!

It?s lovely to read back all your posts and keep up with your lives, I don?t have time at the minute to respond individually but you are all in my thoughts. We seem to have a few missing these days so I hope that everyone is well. I also quite like Jaunty July.

            Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Jaunty July is fine with me also.

I wonder if some have left the thread as they are doing so well they don't feel the need to check in anymore? Could be.

Perfect weather again, I mean just lovely. June is just my favorite weather month.

Nothing new going on here, work and home.

To all, have a AF hump day.

                Joyful June - Week 3/4

                Good morning Junesters!

Sorry I've been MIA for a while - internet connection at home is acting up (still have dial up believe it or not), and not feeling totally comfortable about logging on at work. Doing fine otherwise - thanks Lav and all for asking.

Have to make this quick cause I'm at work - looks like it's going to be stinkin hot this weekend but hey - it's a holiday weekend and I'll have Monday off so that makes it okay! Looking forward to fireworks display that a camp puts off every year - they are awesome so I don't have to fight the crowds to view the display like I would if I went into town.

Trying to read back thru the posts and catch up - Dew - good luck with your radiotherapy - not sure what that means but I'm sure you will do just fine!

Star - I absolutely love riding my bike - I feel like a kid again! (probably look ridiculous riding but who cares!)

Rustop - happy travels with your daughter!

Mylife - glad your trip was nice - what a difference in environment it must be from Alaska to Florida!

LBH - hope they can get those fires under control soon - I agree with you on the strange weather everywhere this past year.

Gotta run - have a great day everyone

                  Joyful June - Week 3/4

I will check in later when I have more time but I just wanted to send some love to you Dewdrop, your attitude is wonderful and will carry you far. Please remember there are no prizes for being brave, if you need to vent and feel sorry for yourself it's allowed and can be hugely therapeutic, just know we are here :l

As usual the rest of you inspire me with all your lives, you have become such a part of me that I would be lost without you. When we have busy lives it's not always possible to catch up with friends and yet we can come to this thread and be in touch with a whole group of wonderful supportive and awesome friends all at once. Today I'm very grateful for that.....

Dewdrop, so glad you checked in
We are all thinking about you & I think you know that! Hope it helps just a little
Radiation treatments (as we call it here) usually don't cause people problems these days ~ they've made a lot of advancements & really fine-tuned the procedure. Stay well

Star, glad you are enjoying your weather, job & home these days!

Jolie, I'm on Armstrong Cable & I have to say they are pretty darn good. I need a good internet connection to help me stay in business Good to see you today!!!

Rustop, hope you are having a good day with your daughter.

Chill, good to see you as well & I hope being busy is working for you

SHELLEY....YOU'RE BACK!!!:l I missed you. Good for you for being on Day 11. I'm in your corner, always.

Dew-how are you holding up, dear one?

I haven't been on much because I am seriously trying to stay AWAY from the computer....it's very hard for me not to be chained to my work. I am going to force myself to stay off it and enjoy the next 9 days off before I leave for France. I plan on enjoying my new bike, the pool, the lake, and finally, my new, used car, which is now ready to be picked up tomorrow. Good thing because my current car does not have AC and it's supposed to be in the 90s the rest of the week. I leave for home in a bit so must get some work done.

A cheery and loving hello to everyone else! Have a great AF Humpday Evening.

                            Joyful June - Week 3/4

                            Evening guys.....

Speed - I was just thinking about you at the weekend! It's wonderful to see you back, use the Newbies and every damn thread you like but please stick with us too, we will huddle around you and give you plenty support, it's just great that you came back to us.

Rusty - I love the sound of your plans, I wish I could join you on a cycle by the lake. 90f sounds just my kinda temperature, we are down at 54f and it's supposed to be summer :upset:

Lav - keep yourself busy tomorrow, those damn dates stir back up so many emotions. Will YB acknowledge it at all?

Star - I so know that Sunday night feeling, mine began back in my school days probably because I'd never done the revision I was supposed to. Then later with work is was the dread knowing I would have over indulged on the weekend and would be feeling awful to start the new week.

Today was my 1st day on my own, the girl I replaced left yesterday and I was filled with anxiety this morning. I neednt have worried, the day went well and I was so busy it flew by. I think I'm going to really like this job.

Re the dating, I saw Mr Grouch last night and he is certainly a piece of work. He used to be a high flying lawyer but reached burn out 10 years ago. He then did locum work until it dried up in the recession. He was then unemployed for a few years and is now driving a cab. I'm trying to impart some of my spiritual knowledge to him as he constantly harps back to his dreadful upbringing as the reason for his demise. Maybe teaching him about giving up our personal history will help me put it to practice too. As for romance, I can't quite see it with him although he seems to have other ideas. He has a wonderful mind and is very well read which is what attracts me to him but he could do with an overhaul on his thinking! I'm just loving all the different characters that are coming into my life and I'm learning so much from them.

SHELLEY! Oh my goodness, gypsy neighbor, I am so glad you are back. I hope you continue to post also on this thread where people know you and can meaningfully share earned hope and kick your butt at the same time. I know that many if not most people on this thread have long term abstinence but others have slipped/relapsed after weeks or months (repeatedly like me), or many, many months (like dear you). For me it seems to be a process of learning to be alcohol free over time rather than a line I crossed one day. For a reason, this thread is part of ?monthly goals?, it has to be manageable when things go wrong. Don?t disappear again no matter what is going on. Nobody gets out of here when in distress, it really is an all for one and one for all bus that found us. Love, Ladybird.
                              may we be well

Screw him - pardon my French You mentioned something about overhauling Mr Grouch's thinking - :bang:no: can't be done!!!! Don't waste a minute of your time thinking in those terms. These grouchy old men are depressed & prefer it thay way
