Again Uni, well done and fair play, congrats on other thread but just to say I think its AMAZING what you have learned and I want to hear all about it.

Bear that whole thing about assertive women being viewed in a negative light is a very common discussion theme around here. One of the reasons I stick it out with Mr. Kaslo, is he is a feminist. :h

To whit, he related a story today about one of the senior managers in his company, bit of a dickhead saying it was ok for the female geoscientist to sample water, but the other soils and rock site would require a "boy". (for the record the female geo could kick serious butt if necessary). The office manager (also female, and 6 months pregnant) stormed into Mr DHs office and told him he was Outta Line. His response was to say: Oh, well I hope you did not take what I said the WRONG WAY. :bang Which immediately puts the female office manager and geoscientist on the defensive. They have to say...oh no, by all means, not at all, etc. Which is SO lame. Its typical though. If we speak up against discrimination, we are branded as strident, difficult women. Not nice. I just hate that side of working with discriminatory males. And not all males are discriminitory. (Case in point any of the guys on here, god love em). But an alarming number still are and what can we do with them except stare balefully at them??? Hmm? It makes me want to smack them. However, and perhaps fortunately I am too old now so people just expect me to be a pain in the arse. So when it comes to saying nooo thenk yew, delicately when I would prefer to roar at them 'NO I DONT F'ING DRINK!! So quit trying to make me feel guilty / stupid / unfriendly_______ fill in the blank (oops, I think that means something else here) I just dont give a rats ass if people dont like it thats just too bad. So there.

Right ON BEAR. Now I have said it, I can go to bed.

PS I got won ton soup, and a foot rub as my 6 months congratulatory prize. Im not complaining, either.
