    Jaunty July - Week 3

Good Morning Everyone From Sunny California!

I'm sitting here in my room in Huntington Beach, overlooking the water, contemplating going for a run along the Pacific Coast Highway....pretty cool here now...it only got up to the mid-seventies yesterday and not a cloud in the sky. A real break from 95 and up weather we've had in Wisconsin.

Congratulations Shelley and SD on 30 Days AF!!:goodjob::l:happy: I just admire you guys for never giving up. Shelley, I'm with you about staying out of the house is a really good thing. It's tough for us to develop new interests and hobbies, though, isn't it? It sounds like volunteering at a homeless shelter would be a wonderful idea. You mentioned AA but is there a Women For Sobriety group in your area? You have mentioned that the HP concept is something you don't usually buy into. I want to do more volunteer work, too, and I am going to look into that when I get home from California and Utah.

Papmom-I love your attitude regarding the engagement party at The Cape. I bet you'll have a great time. You are such a strong person and you are right...it's about your friend....not about you. I can also understand how you feel about being self-conscious about your weight. I am the same way. Nobody really cared about my weight at my niece's wedding....except me, of course. They will just be thrilled that you took the time to go. I envy you going to the Cape. I've never been but I've been to the Vineyard. One of my favorite places on earth. So sorry about your job disappointment...that is a real bummer.

Cassia-yes, I do travel internationally....France, Spain and Canada right now...but have spent a lot of time in Japan as well. I'm sorry your "friend" turned on you. It sounds like sour grapes to me. Petty jealousy....junior high kind of crap that is so annoying. And the co-worker at work....oh yeah, intimidated by your intelligence I'm sure. The PIA client I was trapped with in France is the same way. I wanted to tell him to go soak his head in the castle's bidet.

Lav-what are you making for dinner?

Hi to Rustop, Mario, Star, LBH, Chill, Dew and everyone else.

I have not heard from John. I hope he is ok. While we are on the subject of AF-ness....I have a question....does some kind of forum etiquette dictate that we can't post on this thread unless we have a certain amount of days AF? I hate to think that people stay away because they've been drinking. I was under the impression you just had to have a goal to be AF. I would never want people to be too embarrassed to post because they are struggling.

Well, here is what is on my agenda today: Running along Highway 1, working out at 24-hour Fitness, getting a pedicure and manicure in Huntington Beach, and finally, a soak in the jacuzzi if I can get the mobs of bikini-clad babes out of there so I can get in....which was the case last night. Huntington Beach is THE place to bring your dog, though. I petted more dogs than ever yesterday....cute ones, young and old. I do not fit in with this crowd, here though....I don't have a single piercing or tattoo!:H

Have a great AF Sunday, everyone!

:yay: Cassia on your 7 AF months
        Feels just awesome, doesn't it?

Still hot, humid & disgusting here today. Tomorrow we get a break ~ it's only going to 88 degrees - woo hoo, can't wait!

Rusty, you really should get something pierced, really :H

I just had a nice email from John & he's doing very well!
He's busy running, taking care of his garden & preparing for a full marathon!!!!
Running in this heat & humidty requires something that I just don't have.....that's for sure.

Well, I roasted a chicken for dinner (NO, not that one) :H
Even though I had most of the work done before everyone arrived it was still a bit chaotic
I somehow ended up sitting next to EB at the table.....that was interesting watching him drip applesause down inside the front of his shirt :H

9 pm, must go tuck in the chickens. Wishing everyone a good night!
        Lav
