    AF Daily Monday 8/8

Home at last! I feel like I have been drug through the cog wheels of hell……backwards! It’s nights like this when no one is at home and as brain dead as I am that me and Mr. Bacardi could really “get down”. But that ain’t gonna happen. I just made a big glass of peach tea and hopped on MWO to read some posts. I want 30 days AF so bad I can smell it!

M3 – Is there any way you could come to GA for a month or so just to motivate me to start running again? I’d put you up in the guest room and I would even feed you. I need a running buddy.

Uni – not sure about neutering making the puppy calm down. Try that on me and I would go psycho as well! Actually now that I think of it….after a visit to the urologist a few years ago…… never mind… let’s change subjects….

Lav – until I read your post today I thought “twins” were kids. I didn’t realize you were talking about dogs until you mentioned them out running today. Now that explains a lot from your posts this weekend! As far as the spouse thing… Well Mrs. IJM did a lot for the kids early on while I was working on my career. Now that the career is stabilized and I am pretty much where I want to be it’s her turn to take a well deserved break. Besides, I really get into helping out at the school and being a chaperone on field trips and outings. Plus I really enjoy the cooking and stuff so she can feel like the Queen that she is.

Kas – there is a lesson to be learned in your story. As sad as it is, it’s the poster for ‘don’t let this happen to you’.

Det – garlic for breakfast!?! Yuck!

Cinders – know what you mean by the “hairy alarm”! With 4 dogs in the house I actually cancelled my alarm monitoring contract a couple of years ago. Someone would come to the door, the idiot dogs would lose their minds, and their barking set off the glass break detectors which caused the alarm to go off and the sheriff to show up! It was counterproductive to have both!

Well, that’s all I have for now. I going to fix something healthy for dinner then go to bed with a good book. Jeez, I am a party animal!

    Take care all!
    IJM

LV, sorry about your trip home. Places with special meaning and expectations are hard to deal with sometimes.

Thanks to all who commented on Helen (my dads old gf) and her decline into liver failure. Even at 70 she talked a lot about how she liked to party... which is rediculous really. She sounded like a naughty teen ager. I just didnt understand how bad she was, and she was in denial about it.

I have talked before about how alcohol tends to set us in a retroactive state of arrested development. Turns us into kids really, now I am insulting all the perfectly smart and astute kids out there. But Im just sayin'

What am I going to do without MWO when I go away tomorrow?

Thanks Lav, if I have an internet connection I will try and post like I did when I was in the Yukon.

Hey Kas-safe travels! What will you do without us? You'll focus on your work, think about us when there is down time and keep the journal like Lav suggested. Brilliant idea!! Oh, and stay very strong. No idea if AL is even in the mix up there but know that we are always in he room with you so if you falter..... we'll be there so you stay strong.

IJM-hey don't worry about the running for now. Maybe start out just taking a walk with one of the dogs? You've got a big challenge ahead of you (30 days) and maybe it's OK just to focus on that for now. Once you get your 30 days under your belt you might have the energy and motivation to do something more strenous.

Lav-one last night with doggie breath then FREEDOM!!!

LV-big hugs for you. I can't even imagine how you got throught the visit but you did. You are such a strong woman. :h

Cindi-I think things might be clicking for you! You sound very calm and resolve. Keep up the good work!!

            Hey Mr. G!!

Deter-my nephew started telling me about the "Caveman" diet he's on right now. Sounded suspiciously like the Paleo diet but with some odd twists. I gave him Robb Wolf's website and told him to check it out. I've done the same and I'm inclined to try it for 30 days but I'm wicked scared about the total lack of traditional carbs-I almost ended up in the hospital after 2 weeks on the South Beach Diet which honestly doesn't look all that different. I read your thread in the health section and I pm you with questions.

Hey DG, M3, Greenie, Uni, and anyone else. Have a great rest of your nite!! ZZZZZ

Papmom, yes please pm if you have any questions about Paleo/Primal lifestyle. I'm no pro but I can point you in the right direction. that thread does indeed have a lot of info to sift through.

Cinders, there you are! money is one thing, but sanity and sobriety are golden. so happy for you.

Kas, what fun to catch you on chat tonight! bon voyage and happy photographing!

              LVT, extra hugs dear

Lavande, I think they are casting a new godzilla movie featuring your zucchinis. I can just see a 200 foot tall squash rolling it's way through Tokyo with residents shrieking in panic, buildings in flames, dogs and cats joining forces to repel this new invader. ??? I think I need some sleep.

IJM, garlic for breakfast is the perfect way to say "don't bug me" to the whole world!

              I'm ooooooot
