I just thought I'd tell you that my son called & will be here shortly to pick up his furkids :yay:

jenny, I hope your foray into moderation is a safe one for you.

      DG - about lactose intolerance......
It started with me shortly after my son was born when I really was 29 :H
Back then I found I could get away with a ltlle dairy but if I went overboard then I suffered. Several years ago I broke down & tried the lactase enzymes tablets which helped a little....sometimes. I purchased any lactose free products I could find but eventually all of it became intolerable. A few weeks ago I put myself on a dairy free routine thinking I'd give it one week & see what happens. In 2 days my gut was smiling No more rumbles & grumbles or running to the bathroom or any of that ;confused: So now I know, I just can't handle any dairy in any way shape or form! Hmmm.
Keep using that Zanfel - it will work!!!

      Marshy, stay safe

Greenie, I will be trying your recipe - thanks!

OK, going to pack up the remaining dog food & have the Twins ready for pick up!

        Hello Fabbie Abbies,

Late check in here. Beautiful day here in the Washington, DC...the coolest it has been for weeks. I've been busy, busy tying up loose ends so I will be ready to leave for our family vacation to NH on Thursday.

Marshy, Happy to hear you're safe. Please get out of dodge if things get worse.:l

Ah, Lactose intolerance. Yup, I have it too. The combination of milk and sugar as in the milk shake your husband had was the worst. I didn't figure it out until I was in my twenties. I can get away with eating greek yogurt and some hard cheese but that's about it. I don't think humans were made to drink cow's milk anyway. DG, you might want to have hubby try out almond milk if he needs his milk fix. Very healthy and tasty. I use it to make my protein smoothies and the girls use it on their cereal.

Jenny, good to hear from you. Sorry to hear that life is challenging for you right now and I know that you know it certainly won't get easier with alcohol. I recall that you found yourself in some very dangerous situations when you were drinking before so I hope that you and your family stay safe.

A close friend of mine whom I grew up with called the other day. Her son hit a woman on a bicycle last month and left the scene. Cops later caught up with him and he was drunk, dazed, and confused. After a long struggle, the woman died at the hospital yesterday. So very sad for everyone. She was married and had children. This one senseless and completely avoidable act resulted in someone's death and has devastated the lives of her and his family.

IJM, I am going to come by your house at 5:30 am (which is the time that I go to bootcamp) and to drag you out of the house for a run. :H

DG, I hope that poison ivy clear up. You must be miserable with the heat. I had bad cases of poison ivy when I was younger and still remember how awful it was.

DEt, I don't know if I could stomach salmon in the morning for breakfast but I do admire how you are eating in such a healthy way.

AFM, It is good to hear from you. HOw are you feeling and when do you go in for your surgery?

        Greenie, How is the mojo?

Kas, Wow, you certainly do alot of traveling.

Lav, I'm happy you will be getting rid of the insanity twins soon. Does your son know that you call them that?

        Off to bed:h

 Lav is so happy

The Insanity Twins have gone home

Yes M3, my son knows I call them that!
He actually calls them something I won't post on this thread :H :H

Looking forward to that cool air tomorrow. I guess that's what the thunderstorms & torrential rain was all about today.

yea Lav!! Will your Son take DD too? :H JK but boy has he been a PIA tonite!!

Jenny-I think you're playing with fire. that is all.

M3-you should probably pick me up on your way to get IJM. I need a kick in the arse these days. Glad to hear the cool weather is heading north east.

DG-i feel for ya with the PI. I've had a few really severe episodes in my life and now avoid it like the plague (good thing I kind of have foo foo dogs!!) and if I even suspect I've been infected I go running and screaming to the doc for the medipac of pred. What is Leptin reistance?
Interesting thoughts about your hubby's tummy problems. Makes perfect sense now that you mention it. I've been caving to the sugar beast a lot lately and klondike bars are my poison. Not pretty being lactose intolerant. and I've noticed my GERD is much worse again. But nothing as severe as your hubby. Robb Wolfe is pretty adamant on kicking dairy out of our diets completely. Probably time to listen to him.

Deter-really enjoying Robb's podcasts but they are a little heavy on the power lifting discourse. Sometimes makes me wonder if this Paleo lifestyle is only for the fit and famous. wonder if dumpy old 54 yo's can have success on it.

Greenie-recipe looks delish!! Will defo try it!!

            Marshy-please be safe!

Treya-congrats on 30 days! that is awesome!!

Got a phone interview for the position at my current place of employment. this is the position that will pay 65K at the very least but requires day travel. so wierd they are doing the phone interview with me and they won't call my office phone-only my cell. gotta love the state with the way they conduct searches!! I am not taking anything for granted with this one. We are going to call this Job #3. Job 2a-nada yet.

Also got approved for the refi-had some questions re: the settlement papers and some of the stuff in there didn't match up with what I was told on Friday. I PM'd Cass for her opinion. Of course this all hinges on the appraisal coming in at or above what I owe and in this market it's a crap shoot. I'll keep you all posted.

            Hi Mario!!

Another late nite. shite. I have such good intentions of getting to bed early!! Oh, forgot! The pillow case for my nephew has turned into a Monster Truck blankie/quilt. I'm going to back in muslin since he is 6 after all and if he really likes it it won't stay on his bed I'm sure! :H I don't have the time or money to send it out to be machine quilted so i'm going to hand tie it instead. I've already got the two panels pieced together and 2 sides of the border pinned. I definitely have to work on this at home if I'm going to have it finished by the 28th.

            Ok really-good nite!!

Just alate check in to shout out to y'all. In my hotel room and have a biatch of a wake up 410 AM...ouch. I think they serve breakie on this charter plane. I might skip the breakie and ask for a blankie. Pap you are so talented. I wish I could make things for people. I used to sew...maybe I could take that up if I am ever home again.

M3 that is very sad about your friends son, so many awful things can be chalked up to alcohol. Its not a defense either. But its still very sad.

Lav, glad youve had a twinectomy and now have relative peace, but crazed dogs can be fun, and I miss them. Maybe IM lactose intolerant....that would give me a shot in the arse. It would also mean no CHOCOLATE.... hmmm.

Marshy I see the riots are spreading about the country. What is with that. I watched it on the news at the Vancouver Airport. People waving brooms. What the heck is going on?? In the vancovuer riots it was alcohol fueled there was no question about that. and a couple of people who came down with fuel and weapons to start it. Whether the Canucks won the hockey game or not. Its kind of quintessentially Canadian that our stupid riot was about a hockey game lost to the Americans (the team is a bunch of Canadians though) whereas the British ones seem to be about malcontent and racial stuff. Please somebody explain this to me.

Hi Dete! Hi Mario! Are you glad those folks dont have a lot of guns? Five will get you ten I start the thread tomorrow....

wow Mom3, what a sad and horrible story.

Papmom, you can go on the site Category: Podcasts
and read what the subject matter is, then pick the podcasts that most interest you.
they field a number of questions from total newbies as well as folks that are confused.

Kas, I've got to be up at 7 tomorrow and somehow I don't feel so bad about that

regarding weapons in the UK it seems that baseball bats have become the hottest selling item with sales up over 6,000%

London riots: Baseball bat sales rocket by 6,000% - mirror.co.uk

they don't have a functional 2nd amendment or right to arms or self defense even, so folks are resorting to whatever they can get their hands on quick.

why can't we all just get along and have some gazpacho?

LOL my presidential slogan would be 'peace through superior cuisine'
