Hmmmm, really Det? I did not know that!! I'll need to investigate because I think I should be able to own and use a weapon if I want to.

Thanks for all the good wishes today! I really have no idea how the interview went. For the most part the questions were great and I thought I did well. There were two I don't think I answered fully but one of them I didn't really understand. I couldn't ask them to clarify because I think I'm supposed to know what the word Metric means in terms of "What goals have you set for yourself, how did you accomplish them and what metric did you use". Huh????? The second one I immediately sent a Thank you emails and expanded on my answer.

One of the search committee members came by later to ask about one of her recent admits and also snuck in a "I think you did really good." remark. I'm not sure I'm going to be happy with that only because I know she had planned to apply for this position and they put her on the search committee instead, they've been treating her like crap lately, I'm pretty sure she's out of here soon and I don't think her opinion carries any weight. So, if I make it to the final 3 I'll be happy and will then think I have a fighting chance.

Time for din din and some R&R. TTYL.

P3 - it sounds like you did great!!! Sending you HUGE job getting vibes!!!

Does "metric" in that context mean how you went about measuring the achievement of your goals?

Det - OK, I will be DoggyPirate. Any chance of making a movies with GarlicMan? Hey !!! I forgot to mention. Earlier this week I heard on one of the local radio station that there is going to be a Garlic Festival somewhere in the Chicago area soon!!!! See what you started Det? Will you be making a guest appearance?

OK - off to scrub my skin off with some Zanfel.

Builders dust from sawing the grout. I wasn't expecting that and I didn't even try to stifle the cursewords.

Hey all, Marshy, thats rediculous, Dete thats even more rediculous, Pap I dont know how you do it. I think you should go into arctic biology myself. Treya, it IS unbelievably gross isnt it. Adaptations for flight have made them exceptionally efficient poosters. I have a parrot. Pooh is something birds seem to be very good at arranging for. Lav, some days I would trade my parrot for your chickens. Greenie too funny. DG it is officially time to harvest garlic. That is all.

my first day of flights was today. It was a slow start as some other folks are being moved out to sample lake sediments and they need to be picked up, or get boat motors or what ever the hell they are doing. We actually didnt leave until 1030 AM after getting up at 5 30 in order to get geared up, drag 40 pounds of camera gear up these undustrial height stairs....after trudging through a km long underground corridor unaptly named the Arctic Corridor, as it has heat ducts that make it 30 degrees, ie. very HOT. Not for the faint of heart this job. And because we may be left on the tundra for a while as the chopper takes people B to Lake C, brainwave mr safety here wants us to strap 150 pounds of survival gear on to the side of the air craft, which makes an inherently unstable machine even more likely to torque out on us. Just in case the weather goes on us, and we are stuck with no chopper till they can come looking for us. However. I should not complain. these landscapes are absolutely stunning. And the work is fun and easy, and the two women working with me are young, interested, keen even, and very good at what they do. Will post some pix as soon as I get my photos off various cards here.

Item of iterest: I was exactly 5 km south of the Nunavit boundary today. Not far from the Beaufort sea. Tomorrow is Yamba Lake. And points to the west.

I THOUGHT THE FECKING BATHROOM WAS FINISHED!!! obviously I'm not over the mess he made yet again. what I'm really not over is that I didn't think on my feet and direct him on how to prevent the mess in the first place which could have been accomplished.... on afterthought. So I'm really angry at myself too. feck.

That's funny. I was waiting for a horde of people to charge round the corner!

Greenie, om....... There's going to be mess. Even if every last inch is covered with dust sheets there's going to be mess. I'm still treading on little bits of grit from having the windows done, even though I've cleaned up at least three times. Maybe that says something about my cleaning ability...

I know , I get that. He shows up with no plastic/ tape / window fan for at least an attempt to dust minimization, no bucket to mix the thinset, returns MY brand new paint pan, roller that he used when he forgot his - caked with cement or something, nevermind no roller brush at all ..... that sort of thing.

Yeah, that's annoying. He should replace the paint pan and roller. My window men went off with my dustpan and brush but did leave an extremely sharp glass knife thing so I thought that was a fair swap.

A guy from the shop that fitted my wooden floors a few years ago was supposed to come round on Monday to have a look at a patch of floor my GF damaged while moving her stuff in (!) to see how easy it would be to repair but he never turned up. There was a riot going on at the time, but really! Can't trust 'em.
