DG, ick - that's sort of sad to have to find home for little doggie. I'm sure it'll work out.

This is one reason why I have intentionally not gotten attached to this dog. That, and it would not be appropriate for me to be uber close to Mr. Doggy's competition dog. It's funny that with dogs, it seems that so many people have a really hard time with the idea of selling them, but with other competition animals (i.e. horses) it is very common for ownership to change as people's needs change, etc. And the animals can have a very good life and the goal is always for them to have a good home after retirement. (at least that was always the goal in my horse circles...)

Mr. Doggy started working today with Cooper differently - more on pet type obedience work. Hopefully Coopers manners will be slightly better by the time he moves on! He really does have a fun personality and will be great in the right home. (someone who can handle his current youthful wildness!)

The new pup is already chosen. It's another pup his trainer has. So when Cooper is sold they will basically do a trade.

P3 - I'm glad you understand this is the doggy world. I know it seems odd to someone who has only had pure pet dogs. Sounds like you had more excitement than planned on your outing! How fun that you and your Dad and sis will have this to do in your Dad's twilight years! Will DD get to go sailing one day????

DG-probably no sailing in DD's future. He's not very bomb proof and also tends to get very posessive very quickly whereever he is. Remember his AKC name: Devil Dog Its All Mine? He is now the parking lot nitemare dog, the drive thru nitemare dog-you get the picture. Being the boat nitemare dog would NOT be acceptable to the Cap't I can say with 100% sureity :H

I would love however to convince my dad to let me take Mickey on board one day. He's very laid back and loves everyone. We saw a couple of boat dogs today.

I can't believe this-everytime I sit down the room starts bobbing again! I'm fine laying down-standing is a little wierd. I've never had this last so long! It sucks being 30.

Boy, it's damp out there

DG, I live about 15 minutes away from this place:

A friend of ours used to buy his dogs from her, train them for all sorts of things & sell them. It was big bucks for him back in the late 70's. I've owned two German Shepherds & they were both difficult so I switched to Golden & had two great dogs. now I have a chicken herding Piggy Swissy & a mutt.

Marshy, I get a blue egg every day. Soon I will be getting 5/day as these young amerucanas mature.
I am jealous - I want to go to a cottage too

Greenie, I have paint samples for most of the rooms in my house. Now I'm looking for the motivation to actually do the painting.......

papmom, better yuo than me on the sailboat lady!!! Amazing that your dad still has the ambition - good for him!

No ice cream or ETOH for me tonight - just chips & decaf

I'm so bored I just calculated my 1,000 AF days is the day after Christmas - looking forward to my next goal.

In anf out of helicopter from 730 Am to 5 pm, out onto the tundra to collect plants, then meetings and lab stuff and long march though tunnel, to cafeteria, then processing photos. Knackered. oh goodness I'm beat too. just now home from the range and be lucky to get to sleep by 1:30am then up at 6:30 to do it again for day 2 (last day). I feel like I have a tiny taste of what it must be like fighting in Afghanistan. yikes. sorry to be so brief. zzzzzzzzzzz
