Just back from the party. The rain is picking up but not the wind yet. The quilt was a big hit and my SIL really loved it so that made it all worth while. she might actually machine quilt it herself to give it extra strength but she really liked the hand tying so maybe she'll just leave it be.

Cassia and Lav-I'll be praying and thinking about you two as the storm slowly moves up the coast. Please check in when you can.

I'll check in as much as possible tomorrow but I think I'm going to be just fine. It will be nice to just lay in and read or watch TV as long as possible with my boyz by my side and not feel guilty I'm not doing any work!!

Hi everyone

Just in so have not listened to sky news yet. Hope you are all safe and well.

Had a lovely evening at the birthday party. So good to see so many old faces
and remember those not with us.

Spent the morning with my oldest daughter at The Ultimate Girls day out show.
Geared more towards her age group but I still enjoyed it. We had lunch together and
then I came home. Going to put my feet up and read the Sunday papers.

Cass & Papmom - hope you guys have recovered from the worry of this storm which I understand has subsided.

Pap - loved the quilt! You clever girl, have the boys got ones too? Elle has a bed I'm almost jealous of, it's SO cosy and she has a pink fleecy baby blanket which she buries her head in.


I had a lovely afternoon today with my Sisters, boy did we laugh! Tomorrow is a bank holiday and I have the day off work. I have an appointment with a foot specialist to see if I can do more to get pain relief from my arthritis then I'm off to see a Lawyer regarding drawing up a formal agreement of separation with my husband. Yeah finally.....

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, a shout our for Speed, Star and Rusty!

Chill-so far so good. No loss of power and although they are saying not to get complacent I think the worst is over. I think they just want to keep on the air as long as possible :H.

Thanks for the kudos on the quilt. No, I would not waste all that money and effort on quilts for the boys. they would just pee and poop on it and tear it up making their den!! They get old blankets and towels and they have beds although not as nice as Elle's!!

Hoping Lav, the girls and Cass have survived with minimal damage.

No power yet but the generator kicked on around 2 am so at leat we have water, a few lights & can flush toilets :H
Cable was just restored so we have internet, TV & phone back. Attempted to log in on my phone earlier (not easy). We are fine, animals are fine. The sun popped out a little while ago

Haven't traveled too far but I did see a cornfield just down the road that looks like a small tornado went thru it All i need is a day to clean up some leaves & branches, no big deal.

Having Lily here has been such a pleasure. I hope to be around lomg enough to tell her all about our first hurricane together

Good afternoon, on this sunny Sunday!

I had a marvelous weekend, visiting relatives in northen Michigan, and it was beautiful warm and filled with sunshine. Odd when hurricane Irene was wreaking havoc to the east.

Hope everyone in the east is safe and has electricity. Let us know when you can.

Rusty, so sorry you are having health problems.

Cassia, your husband will be here soon, something to really look forward to.

AF August Angels - Week 4

:rays::rays:YEA!!! Sounds like so far everyone weathered the storm with minimal damage!! That's good!! Let's pray those left to check in came out just as well!!

Well...it's Sunday night and again the anxiety of going to work tomorrow has set in....ugh!! I'm trying so hard to distract myself....it just HAS TO get better there!! Just keep tweaking my resume right?? LOL!!!

I'll apologize right now for not addressing everyone and if I don't get here much this week...my son has a football game Monday night, practice Tuesday, I have appts Wednesday and Thursday...plus my sister is flying in to surprise my mom for her birthday on that day so I'm sure it will be a late night that night....going to be a very long week of running I'm afraid!! On a positive note...got the lawn mowed today!!!:H

AF August Angels - Week 4

Hi everyone

Hope power is soon restored Lav. Glad everyone weathered the storm ok. Busy day as usual. There was an information day at the university for my daughter, how to register, modules, electives etc. etc. She found it good and is moving out next Sunday. Orientation is that week and she starts the following week. Hard to believe.

Other daughter is back in school and is doing homework as I type. Back walking with friends every morning so things are slowly getting back to normal.

I?m glad everyone made it through the hurricane with few problems, what a relief! I?ve had a lovely long Bank Holiday Weekend so I too am contemplating work tomorrow ? and I?m working on not thinking about it until tomorrow when I wake up

Rusty I am so sorry to hear you are in such pain and I hope you can get to the bottom of it, I refuse to think that its age related you are only 29, like myself, after all Take it easy (as much as you can when you work for yourself) and I hope you are feeling better soon, I can so appreciate how frustrating it can be when we are laid low with health issues. Papmom how talented are you lady!! You never cease to surprise me with all your talents; you need to give yourself a huge pat on the back. I really hope that your finances turn around soon and I know that you are doing everything in your power to sort things out. I am sure, like the others, that with all the effort you are putting into finding a new and better job that it will work out for you, hang in there and know that we are all behind you :l

Lav I am glad you are safe and it must have been a comfort to have your family with you, I?m also glad the chickens survived to, I was thinking about them believe it or not! I am also really happy for you now that you have found Curves and are enjoying it, there is nothing like a bit of exercise and the opportunity to meet and socialise with people to give us back our mojo ! Chill so glad that the tenant problem turned out so well for you ? you definitely have the Universe on your side these days. I can understand your reflections on being single or in a relationship, maybe you and Ken can find a compromise so that you have enough of your own space and chilltime while still being in the relationship. Often when we get into relationships at our age it?s more about negotiation and compromise than simply jumping into things headfirst as we did when we were young. Not sure if that makes sense but with age and life experience we are often very much in tune with what we need from the relationship and less inclined to put up with what we don?t want/need.

I too have a fairly busy time this week so am going to have to curtail my online time but will be back never fear. Hi to Rustop, Star, SD, Cassia and Shelley and anyone else I?ve forgotten. Has anyone heard from Jolie recently?
