      Hey Lucky,

Do you mind me asking what you're paying for the campral... how much/ how many and what dosage? Where did you order it??

      Thanks, Olly

        Hi Olly,

It was $115 for 168 pills from 247-Pharmacy.com

You take 2 pills 3x per day.

I have not ordered from that pharmacy before so cannot vouch for it.

I hear it really does work. One member taking it said it made alcohol no more appealing than a piece of stale bread. I can hardly wait!

Hope this info is helpful. All the best-

        lucky

Hey Lucky...my Campral just arrived from same pharmacy as you. We both ordered on the 12th. Has your mail come yet?

Do I really have to wait a week you guys? I am on day three , no wine since Saturday night. Today I had to take my walk early because I am wanting....guess what? WINE, KETTLE CHIPS and STRING CHEESE! Ahhhh! I hate this. Sunday and Monday were almost easy.

On day 4 right now - congrats to Andy - the socializing temptation is what I have the hardest problems with. I continually find myself hoping I'll be good on the weekend, and then come back to today and realize I have to get through today. Let me know how the Campral works - I'm not taking anything yet. Just some evening primrose and kudzu and a good multi.

              Hi Maggie-

Thanks for letting me know. Mail has not come yet but I don't have the needed abs days anyway. Some say just to start taking it, and Andy says go abs for 5 days prior to starting. What are you doing? I am sooooo confused!

Be well. We will have to compare notes.

I've heard 0, 3 ,5 and 7 days. I cannot imagine there is any alcohol left in my system. Today is day three for me. I think I will start tomorrow AM. Others have thoughts? I want to give it the best chance to "work."

Doc told me five days, but I can't see how it could hurt to start it after two or three days. It (pharmacy directions) also say to take it the next morning, even if you have a slip up.

Thanks Andy. I was wondering, once you went the five days, did you think of not taking Campral? Already I am thinking, or telling myself I should just do it "cold turkey" since I am obviously capable of making it through a day or two without my wine. How long did it take and how has Campral helped you? Did you try Topa first? I did and way too much dopa for me. I tried it several times. Thanks.

Never tried topa, doc wouldn't prescribe it. I like Campral. I have no side effects. Cold turkey is tough, I think you need something (drugs, supps, exercise, etc) initially to get you going. But it's up to you. See how long you can go without the campral, waiting the five days is a good test.

Campral starts working after a week. It only helps when resisting the first drink. If you do drink on Campral, the effects are gone for the evening. However, it really does help with your initial craving for a drink. It's FDA approved, so it's pretty safe. Good luck.

                        Just saying Hi!
Been a little busy but have been here too.
Hi Maggie :welcome: I think you said you have been here for awhile though - or awhile ago? Anyway, hello and welcome and Good Job on the 3 days! First 10 were the hard ones for me. Hard to know what to do with yourself at first. It gets easier.

And Andy - you are doing so well. I read about how you passed up the office outing. I know it feels tempting at first but good for you for saying no thanks. great job!

Well- have a good night all. I'm committed to going to the gym every day this week thru Sat. so I'm getting to bed soon. You are so right Andy...that 'friend' of ours hates the gym.

                        Night all-
                        Lisa

Know what's better than drinking a bottle of wine?

playing with Christmas ribbons with my cats......best game ever

                          What about you??

                            Evening All,
It's nice to read that despite all the holiday rush we're still seeking our sober selves. Everyone seems quite focused.

Lisa, I'm so jealous of your substantial-sized cat. My cats are so skinny eveyone thinks they're wild and starving. No one sees the food I feed them; dry food, wet food, hairball-prevention food...you name it I feed it to them and they won't gain weight. I guess weight is truly determined by genetics.
                            Have a good night.
                            Janet

                              ...poor little starving kitties...

omg...made me laugh. I have one kitty (zooey) who will stare me down while I eat dinner until I give her some. Perhaps my kitties just have bad manners!
