Hi everyone

Just back from Spain so a very quick check in. I just wanted to give my deepest condolences to Dewdrop. I cannot imagine what you and your family are going through. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Had a lovely sober time at both weddings but absolutely exhausted. The storm is blowing this way so I may not be able to check in again if we lose internet connection.

Morning everyone,
Have been missing you all. Still sober, almost 90 days.
Haven't posted much cause you all are so positive and I'm in a heap of trouble.
Got a DWI in May and am dealing with the fallout of that. I would read your cheerful posts and just think, oh lordy I just can't unload my stuff on this site.
On a positive note, it has gotten me back to a twelve step program and am feeling more in touch with my spiritual side than I ever have before.
And I can still talk about my bumper tomato crop and the NM drought and my amazing progress in yoga.

Sped, so good to hear from you. It is hard to talk about certain difficult things when we seem to be in such good places, but believe me, we struggle all the time. Twelve step sounds hopeful do whatever it takes to get to where you need to be.

I am at work and slow this afternoon so thought I would check in.

So sorry about your troubles but fantastic on your AF time!!!!
Please don't stay away - it makes us worry. We need to share the bad stuff as well as the good stuff My garden was turned over to the weed gods ages ago The weeds were prolific due to record rainfall in these parts & plenty of hot weather. Enjoy your tomatoes! I joined a Curves club last month & can already feel myself loosening up a bit (joint-wise). I hope to be able to move into some Yoga at some point.

Star, a quiet Monday afternoon is cool & something that doesn't happen often

I watched Lily this afternoon while her parents were home packing up for their move.......I will miss seeing her a few times/week.

Still humid enough around here to be running the AC......my poor electric bill.

A sanctuary is exactly the place I've been seeking lately and of course I was looking in all the wrong places for a while there...but I'm back on the AF train with new resolve and very thankful for all the wisdom and encouragement to be found at MWO. And ESPECIALLY for the fact that I have bounced in and out, between abs and mods, off again, on again and no-one has ever given me sh*t for it - just been endlessly welcoming. Thank you for that. It feels genuine and is in itself a sanctuary from all the other places where we have to crawl back, tail between our legs, apologizing for yet another mess up or bender.

Dew - I was so shocked and saddened to read about your grandchild passing away so soon. Thinking of you and your family at this painful time.

Shout out to Chill girl - thanks for your messages to me on other threads. I am taking note of your wise words.

You too Lav - you are just all over these boards! I don't know how you keep up. Amazing how much a sober mind can accomplish.

Today I floated down the river with two friends. It was so peaceful and beautiful and I was full of gratitude that I was unhung and enjoyed every minute. Let the new journey towards peace and sobriety begin.

Chill--WOW!! That youtube video was incredible!!! I was bawling!!! Talk about a swift reality kick in the a$$ of how many things I have to be thankful for and need to gain some perspective on how "bad" I "think" things truly are....probably not really at all (or minor to most). Thank you for that!!:l

Sped--I'm so happy to hear from you!! Just in time for a couple big celebrations!!:yay: I know I don't know what you are going through but you're doing so many positive things now to move forward and in a positive direction...try not to let what happen in May consume to many negative thoughts in your mind...that could have happened to me, you or probably any of us, a number of times...it's really just a matter of luck when you think about it (I think...I can't explain it any other way). Looking forward to our special day(S) together this month!:l

Lav--It was 90 degrees or something like that this weekend....70's today and suppose to be 50 tomorrow....what the heck??? 70's again by the weekend!! I tell you what...I don't know what to wear from one day to the next...sandals one day...a big coat the next!!

:welcome: Bear, this is a great thread with lots of wonderful people on it.

Shelly - I second what Lav says, we do worry about people when they stay away. It's always nice to be able to share the good news but none of us go through life without up's and downs. Please come and vent and share the bad times as well as the good. Lots of good advice on this thread and no judgement.

Dew - Huge hug to you in this most difficult week. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Rusty - You were asking why I changed my username. I think it might be my computer but I could not log onto MWO for a few days. Eventually I got fed up and just started a new account and got in that way.

Just back from a walk with the doggies in the woods. It is so good to be getting back to normal. There is just myself and younger daughter home this week and I am being totally lazy.

Well, I'm having lunch with my former neighbors today - they both turn 80 this year! In the 25+ years I have known them I have never seen either one of them consume a drop of AL.
