    September Sanctuary - week 2

I am one tired gal today. No motivation to do anything but read the paper and lay around. Got home from MD around 1:30 am. Very very long day but luckily uneventful. Yes, my friend did get her new dog. He's a very handsome tri colored, smooth coated BC named "Brass". Very sweet too. We got to seem him work some sheep and it was pretty impressive. I just hope my friend does what she says she wants to do with this dog and he doesn't go the way of all her other "working" dogs. Time will tell. The farm Brass lived at is just gorgeous. Over 100 acres, mostly soybeans. I guess I thought soybeans were grown in the midwest? Judging by the thousands of acres we drove by, MD and DE seem to giants as well. Anyway, this farm, in addition to the soy fields had huge pastures and paddocks and a huge "outrun" (I think that's what it's called) where the herding trials are held. She holds the only trials in MD. She has about 7 BC and 2 Anatolyean (sp) Shepards who all live in the gorgeous climate controlled outbuilding. Each dog has free run to their own outside kennel and they have a big fenced in yard they are let into throughout the day to play and relax. This is on top of working the 100s of sheep at the farm. She also has 4 house dogs-2 Jack Russells and 2 Boston Terriers. The house is comfy cozy and spacious without being pretentious. Filled with country decor. lots of secret gardens too and a huge pool. Then there are the farming buildings one would expect to see. We spent about an hour and a half there. i wish I could have let my guys off leash but I just didn't want to take the chance even tho their road was very long leading up to the house.
I did fall in love with a small female BC who was just the sweetest and actually looked like my DD a lot. Oh would she make a good agility dog!! good thing she wasn't for sale!!
I'm very happy to report that I still have my youthful road trip stamina as I drove the whole way down and back. It was about an 18 hour day.

So i've had a chance to catch up on things.

Rusty-can you dump that client? Let your colleague deal with him? No wonder you have neck problems!! I too hope you had a great time at the wedding!!

Jolie-great job too! You can do this!!

Lav-keep doing the curves and zumba-you'll need the extra energy if you keep taking EB as much as you do!

Dew-:l :l :l Please know I am thinking about you and your family!

SPED and SD-Huge congrats on 90 days!! You guys rock!!

SD-how was the game? The Vikings used to be my favorite team when I was a teenager. My dad had told me that Tarkington was the only QB in the NFL to call his own plays and for some reason that really impressed me! I'm not sure I even knew what it meant to call plays!! :H Their purple unis didn't hurt either!!

I know I have to mow the lawn today at some point. Its very cool and windy-almost raw with grey clouds. Hopefully after lunch I'll have more energy. It's the only thing on my list so I really have no excuse.

Oh yes, when I got home this morning I went to the front door to get the mail and on my stoop was a pot of mums and a pumpkin!! My sis is absolutely the sweetest, isn't she??? I feel very loved right now as she knows I can't afford to buy those things myself and I miss them. :h

      September Sanctuary - week 2

      Good afternoon one & all!

Went to Lily's christenining & brunch today. Very nice time indeed - pictures later

Papmom, can I borrow your sister? My three brothers would step over me if I fell down in front of them sooner than they would bring me flowers & pumpkins :H :H
Now I'm wondering how close you were to me yesterday???? I'm living in the midst of corn & soybean fields....

Jolie, are you appreciating the cool weather as much as I am? :yay:

YB asked if he could come over for dinner
He'd better fix something while he's here :H

          Hey all....

Had a busy weekend, and just now have time to sit down and relax.

Rusty, 25 pounds, wow, I am jealous. What is your secret? Sorry about the PIA client, why are people so mean? I just don't understand.

Jolie, you sound good, very busy and determined to stay AF.

Papmom, it is good to have a day to just relax.....we don't get them much, do we. You are so lucky to have a thoughtful sister.

Lav, hope your dinner was OK. He always seems to let you down. I love the cooler weather, too.

Sped, it is so nice to have you back, hope things are going well for you. Are you still substitute teaching?

          See you in the morning.....

Ah papmom - you were about 60 miles south from me yesterday........figures.

Dinner was fine Star. My DIL wanted to come over with the kids after the christening since my son had to go right to work.
YB caught wind of that & decided to include himself. I think it's his way of trying to come out of hiding (just a little). But who knows really???

My DIL took 120 pics today & I have to sort through them but here is one of Lily & her Mom

              Good morning everyone

Glad you all had such a nice week-end. Well done Rusty and Jolie on your AF weddings. It's not easy with Al floating all around you. Wow congrats Rusty on the weight lsos, whats your secret? I am back to weight watchers tomorrow. I went way off track over the summer.

Lav - Glad the christening went ok. YB is probably best thought of as a misbehaving child. Ignore their bad behaviour and they gradually come out of the corner and want to be included.

Papmom - you are so lucky to have such a thoughtful sister. Hope you got some rest yesterday.

Star, Chill, Cassia, Dew, Shelly and anyone else I missed big hello and have a great AF week.

                  September Sanctuary - week 2

Hello Sanctuarions! I am alive, and still AF, and so sorry that I have not been able to spend more time here. I am constantly thinking of everyone, and wondering how your lives are...only 3 more weeks and I will have arrived in CT, and will have time to really sink back into the fold here. In the meantime, it is more packing and sorting and selling and donating, etc. But there is finally an end in sight.

Dew, I will read back to see what has happened in your family, but please know that I wrap my arms around you. So sorry to see you have to struggle.

And that goes for you too, Chill -- so sorry to hear of your breaking heart and fear of the financial situation. My lord what a year you've had...please feel the support...and breathe.

Welcome Bean, and Wahoo! to Sped and SD, congrats. I remember this last time that I re-started, I thought that 90 days would never come...you did it, and it's a great beginning. I can hardly believe that I have now passed 9 months -- we'll see what happens when I am no longer racing around 16 hours a day.

Lav, Rusty, Rustop, Star (let's talk about the hot flashes!) PapMom, Jolie, LBH, Sooty, everyone everyone (sorry if I missed anyone) thank you for being here when I checked back in. This is more home than you can possibly know.

Will try to read back and find out more, and will try to hop on every few days at least in the coming weeks. Take care all --
