    AF Daily ~ Monday! 10/3

    All right, all right,,, I'll do it. :H

    MONDAY!! NEW WEEK! NEW MONTH! YAY!!

    A former lover from long long ago is coming into town. Oh what to do, what to do.....
    Do I want to see him? Eh.... doesn't matter. What's with me lately? Am I becoming the queen of ambivalence? Or is this what peace and calm feels like?

    About the former lover.....
    no comment primarily because I am quite ambivalent myself these days. I am just now really starting to enjoy the peacefulness & overall calmness of quality aloneness

      I am sick of myself, actually. But never mind. Hope everyone is well, and no doubt off on Monday things.

      I seem to have lost 5 pounds! Hopefully I wont find it again. I made a concious effort to stop gorging myself on everything in sight. I was pretty well letting myself eat what ever when ever, since I quit drinking last Feb, but after the blood test and the somewhat elevated blood sugar and cholesterol, I resolved to substiture, alter, and reduce. I have tried to eat fresh fruit with yoghurt or just yoghurt instead of the cookies, etc. So I am starting to see some results... Very happy with that.

      Y'all have a great day. One thing is for sure.

        Hummm.... maybe it's just anti-social behavior. No, that's not it. It's in a group setting. Maybe if someone went with me.... FH! (kidding of course)

        Lave we are having spectacular days here lately. Sorry you're outside the scope of that.

            Greenie, I hear you as I am sitting here eating a piece of pumpkin cheesecake just cause i don't want it in my fridge anymore! Seriously alcoholic thinking there.

            I had my therapy appt this morning which went well. I have something funny to share though from my daughter. So I write on my white board in the kitchen: Kennedy's chores - load and unload the dishwasher. She (the everloving 10 year old monkey that she is) writes beneath it. Mommy's chores: Everything else!

            On that note, have an awesome AF day everyone!
            Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

              Hey Kaslo, congrats on the weight loss - I need to try just a little harder myself. Of course having leftover harvest grains buns from yesterday is not really my fault

              Greenie, I don't know about you but for me I'm just damn tired of pushing myself to be everything for everyone. Maybe I'm tired, I'm not depressed - I know that. Maybe I'm just accpeting life as it is & not expecting it to be more than it is (if that makes sense). I just received an invitation to my 40th High School Reunion & I have no desire to go. Besides, it must be a mistake since I am only 29

              Uni, daughters can be very challenging - intellectually

                Hello FABbiosos!

                I'm good, I'm busy, no chocolates or pumkin cheese cake (yummm) in the house and I did lose about 10lbs which I also hope will not ever be found again!

                Gotta run again! Take care everyone and One thing is for sure...
                Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

                    Kas, be careful your not losing muscle instead of body fat. it's so tricky I know. my dear Dx came back from burning man and had lost a LOT of weight because she was so busy working on the temple project and was not eating. also it was very hot. unfortunately all the weight she lost was muscle and now she's extremely unhappy with her physique.

                    the very same thing happened to a friend of ours that was a beginning fitness instructor. she embarked on a heavy cardio fitness routine and eliminated animal products and animal fat from her diet and instead ate the low-fat vegan diet. big mistake. this induced a catabolic spiral wherein she lost 18lbs and it was ALL muscle. she was so weak and sickly she thought she was going to die. thankfully she's learned a ton about nutrition since then and now she looks/feels awesome.

                    ok, enough nutrition ranting, it's a glorious un-hung Monday and the chirds are burping.

                    had a lovely spicy stir-fry for breakfast and looking forward to tonights workout.

                    gotta be on the road tomorrow, so must sleep well tonight. no Starbucks after lunch (self reminder)

                      Ha ha. If I had any muscle to lose, Det darlin' Thanks for your concern though, and I know what you mean. I also think quick losses can be due to dehydration, and not necessarily muscle wasting. Even though I turned a blind eye to too much AL consumption, I am also pretty careful. I have had a lot of experience with muscle wasting, I spent almost two years in and out of traction, casts and wheelchair and canes/ crutches, then a lot of time in the field 30 years or more trying to build it up again. Plus I am a toxicology person, so I have studied human nutrition, the biochemistry of it for years and years, both academically and as a hobby. Since the hip replacments I have gained weight due to inactivity. And getting active again with arthritis is a major challenge, because, ....it hurts. (well, like, duh!).

                      What I need to do is get used to eating less. Its just that simple. I dont need as much as I age, and I dont metabolize very quickly at the best of times. So more water and less food, and NO booze, less fats, few sugars, thats what I am getting into now. Plus what I can in terms of exercise. I am not running, but I am walking and gardening...and kayaking!! YAY! Exercise and less food (very simply put) is probably the best way to actually lose weight, but its putting theory into practice that is sticky as heck!

                            I've noticed a ramping up of my appetite the last few days - damn
                            It's been dark for soooo long I think I want to eat my way back to the sunshine :H

                            Moving even a pound off at this age is ridiculously difficult!!!
