    Nouveau Novembre - Week 3

    Good morning everyone

Very quite around here. Hope all ok?

Feeling exhausted. Our goldie has started wanting to go out at night. I got up let her out and then half an hour later she wanted in again. Usually I just fall back to sleep but for some reason could not last night and ended up reading at 3 am trying to tire myself out.

Like you Chill we have had lovely weather here the past week. Going swimming and then a nice walk before school pick up. Hubby is away so will have a lazy evening.

Happy hump day to one and all.

      Nouveau Novembre - Week 3

I'm here Novemberettes!! Just very busy! Gave notice to the NH for the weeknights for now as my bro offered me a part time virtual assist job at $25/hour! I'll stay on Sundays through the holidays and then reassess. I can't believe my bro has enough work that he can't do himself fro 5 hours a week but if he says so then I'll happily take his money!!:H I need to come up with a name for my business. I was thinking of Mariposa Virtual Assist Services with a butterfly for a logo but there is a disconnect between the name and what I do. Then I was thinking Ruff and Ready Virtual Assist Services with a black and white papillon with a computer mouse or pen in his mouth. I still have to check for availability on anything I think of but what do you all think for now? Any other suggestions? Then I have to file as a sole proprietorship and get my tax info in order and trademark my name. Whew!!

Welcome to the weekly thread Blonde!! You'll love it here too-totally different vibe. Don't you love Chill's visualization? I use it all the time and it really works!!

Dew-how you coming on the franchise decision?

Chill-You will get back to Portugal my dear but in due time. IT's not right yet. You need to be stronger financially and with a clear direction of what you will accomplish over there. So sorry to hear of Elle's continuing skin problem. Hope this latest round of antibiotics will do the trick and then you can figure out where she got it.

Cyn-hope you travels are safe-great weather for it!!

Rustop-enjoy the nice weather and evening to yourself-doesn't happen often together does it?

right, off to work now. 9 more years until retirement!! Whoo hoo!!

        Good morning November friends!

Cloudy & damp around here today, oh well! But it is Hump Day already

Papmom, in addition to all the other stuff I do I also have a Medical Legal Certification. We were advised to avoid 'cute' names & names/pictures of pets when choosing names for our consulting businesses Potential clients may may think you're not serious about business.......
Perhaps just using your name and/or location in your business name would work

Hello to Rustop, Chill, Star, Blondie & everyone!
        Where is Jolie??

        Got to run for now,

          Good morning all....

Wow, I have been so busy this week. To answer questions about the 11-11-11 weddings...I flew to Las Vegas, Nevada, as we had a close relative getting married on this date. There were tons of couples getting married, so I was able to enjoy all the lovely wedding dresses and sense of celebration. That part was fun. The numerous drunks and pervading cigarette smoke irritated me and I would not pick Vegas as a destination again.

Chill, my daughter's dog had skin rash and had to have medicine and a special food as he was allergic to something in his old food. Finally, he is OK, hope your baby heals quickly.

Pap, finally a bit of a break for you!! Yay!! It will be fun to work for your brother and well worth it.

Welcome Blonde, the more the merrier. It feels good to live healthy and AF.

Rustop, Lav, Rusty, Cyn, Sped, and everyone else, have a great day.

Hi Gang and thanks for the welomes Stargazer and PapMom! It's great to be onboard with the weekly abber thread.

Thank you for that powerful visualization exercise ChillGirl, I shall use it wisely. In addition to that, I have been picking up some other very valuable exercises on some of the other threads, like in Newbies Nest, Bryd Lady posted about going down 2 different types of Rabbit Holes, which I have been using since I read it last week...she has a very good one about the scenario of Thanksgiving, if you are teetering on the idea of drinking or not. Then this morning, in the Anchor phrase link in the newbie forum, someone posted this simple sentence: "Fast Forward to Hungover" and that just hit me as so real and powerful. Yeah, right, fast forward to feeling like crap and starting all over again, not remembering what you did the night before and all the guilt and shame along with it. No thanks. I will remember this "Fast Forward" phrase next time I am tempted. I think it will help me stop myself in my own tracks!

Have a super day all, I'm off to have some breakfast and then housework...today is my day off and I have lots to do to fill it!

              Good morning all,
It is good to be back on line with this group and thread. My challenge at the time is to recover from knee surgery. A week ago Monday I had medial meniscus of left knee repaired and trimmed. It was so painful before surgery that I really could not walk and pretty much had to sit and ice it. I feel much better already and have received good reports from doctor and physcial therapist about recovery. I keep a very active life style with yoga, biking, hiking, golf and tennis. Tennis is the one activity that looks like I will not be able to continue because of lost cartlidge. It have four more weeks of P.T. and need to fill my time constructlvely that I usually spend in some sort of exercise. Booze does not have a role in filling my time!
Have a great day and sorry if I bore you with this. It is on my mind and I need to express it.

Blondie-that fast forward visualization is exactly what I have been using since I started this journey. It works wonders and I actually get nauseous now thinking about being hungover. Keep up the great work!!

                  Evening folks

:welcome: back mg72! Good to see you and wishing you a speedy recovery. I love my exercise soo much and often get concerned at the thought of not being able to. My arthritis gets so painful at times but luckily for now I can continue to cycle and for that I'm very grateful.

BlondeAF - fast forward was a fav of mine too. Whenever I thought I could just have a couple as a civilized way to relax, I'd FF 4 hours and oooh it wouldn't be so pretty and was far from civilized! FF to the morning and it would be self recrimination, regret and deep depression. I'd start the day swearing not to drink that day but by lunchtime I'd be already planning the "relaxing civilized" few drinks for that evening! NEVER again!

I spent the day inspecting grotty rental houses, I know I'm a neat freak but honestly how Some people live is disgusting. The most heart warming inspection though was of a little apartment with affirmations stuck all over the place, the Tenant is a young junior school teacher. On the front door was "Carp diem" and on the wardrobes it said "I am strong!" "shine" and "I want to be the BEST teacher in the world!" the fridge had an entire fun children's language stuck on it, I wish I could have met her!

I should be writing a book about the houses I see, it's amazing the stories they tell. One tiny place which was obviously occupied by a single guy had photos of two beautiful girls who must have been his daughters, it's sad to see how lives have turned out. Every one is just doing their best with what they have. Another tenant was trying to pretend his cat wasn't his :H I didn't find the litter tray so reported back that no cat lived at the premises

I'm off to bed, 60 pages left to go of Michael J Fox's "lucky man" which I'm finally reading and enjoying.

                        Hi everyone!

I'm only stopping by my house to pick up a change of clothes and just had to quick jump online and see how you all are doing!!! I miss everyone soooooo much!! It seems like forever since I've been here--although it's only been about a week. :H

I'm staying over at my mom's house right now, watching the dogs and her foreign exchange student while they are out visiting my sister and her family in Denver...so to answer the question you might be wondering...my mom is feeling much better! Doesn't slow down too long!! Although they have internet at their house, I don't feel comfortable getting on their computer, and logging onto this site...I hope that isn't offensive to anyone, that certainly isn't my intention.

I will be at my parents until Sunday but will try to stop back home and catch up frequently to check the mail and log on here to catch up with you all!! I promise...one of these week...things WILL BE back to "normal"!!! Still sober tho....5 months right around the corner!!
                        :welcome: MG72 and Blondie!!

Chill--hope your pup gets better soon!:l

Okay....I really need to get movin'...more later!!!!

                          Hi Weekly abbers!

Lots of good vibes circulating 'round here today! Love being a part of the team!

ChillGirl-I can tell already that I will be getting great advice and tools from you along the way! And from everyone else who has been sober for a long time too!

Tomorrow will mark 100 days so far this year of being sober (not all in a row obviously but I do feel progress was made with racking up 100 days since I discovered MWO in January)...glad I reached that goal and wish I had stuck to my AF guns back in January as I would have almost a year but the past is the past and I am building slowly but surely!

Listening to a beautiful new Christmas CD (yes, I'm one of those early birds!) tonight that came in from Amazon.com. It's called Scottish Christmas and I have already listened to it 2x since I got it today. I am mostly of Scottish heritage and although I have yet to visit, I would love if Hubby and I could go soon. He is mostly of Irish heritage and me of Scotland so it would be great to see both countries together as neither of us has been there. I have been to England a few times in my life but never North of that. Anyway, right now, the music will have to do!:H

PapMom-Congrats on your new job with the great hourly rate! Sounds like a good deal to me!

I hope everyone had a lovely day today. Can't believe turkey day is next week. I will be straight out next week prior to the holiday since I work in a natural food market. 100 organic fresh turkeys are being delivered tomorrow...yikes. Glad I have the day off :H

Hi to everyone and thank you for the warm welcomes to this thread! Have a peaceful night all.

mg, best wishes on healing your knee!
My daughter had just turned 14 when she hurt her knee skiing but by the time she was 16/17 she was playing tennis. Kids heal much better than the rest of us

                            Hi papmom & G!!!!

Chill, inspecting rental properties does not sound like fun

SD, glad to hear you are OK & your Mom as well

Blondie - what do the organic fresh turkeys go for up in your area? I heard a woman moaning at Curves this morning about paying $3/lb. I have no idea what a good price is for them

Chill-go for the book!! Just do it ala Nike!!

Hey Mr. G-looks like our Prez is somewhere in your neck of the woods this week. Even trying to speak a little Aussie-not sure it's going over very well! :H Keep up the good fight-you are one of my idols!

SD-so great to see you! Hope all is peaceful at your moms but probably not with the dog sitting!

Blonde-I didn't even bother to check out the Organic Turkeys at Wegmans-didn't want to know the price! I don't have to buy one this year anyhow. Just responsible for my annual green bean casserole. Yahoo!

MG-welcome back! I'm sure your knee will respond great to PT. You'll be doing yoga again in no time!

Pseudo nite off for me but I did have to do an errand on the way home. A load of laundry in and email read-off to snuggle with the kids for a while before I get them their dinner. Up early tomorrow for PT and then work, meetings, work and then more work at the NH. I can't wait to quit that! But, I do know that I have to fill those hours with work for my brother. I won't be getting paid to surf the net or read MWO posts or watch TV!! Discipline will be my best friend!!

Papmom you move so fast once you see an opportunity!! I?m impressed there you are setting up your business in no time, looking at marketing yourself etc and here am I still researching away! I?m still undecided about sole ownership or limited company at the moment but meeting an accountant next week to go through a few things and to let them look at the projections of my potential business to get a realistic assessment. I appreciate that our situations are different but you do inspire me

Star I was in Vagas a few years ago after doing a 10 day trek for charity in the Grand Canyon and the contrast between the two places couldn?t have been more striking, while I enjoyed the few days we had there I really have no desire to return. Your weekend sounded like fun though and Vagas is great for that. SD hope you are well and coping without your lifeline, even though I don?t post as much as I?d like I often pop in for a quick lurk and it keeps me on track so I understand how you must be missing the contact.

Anyhooo must get into the day ? lots to do and the weekend is looming. Big hi to everyone and Welcome to mg72
