    Nouveau Novembre - Week 3

Coconut Cocoa Cuppa Chocolate Tea Bags??? Its Decaf!! Might have to order it tomorrow!

Chill-your new Meet up Group sounds fabulous! I wish there was one around me!

Dew-have a blast at your retreat! YOu are so lucky you have these things so close to you!

Cyn-welcome back! Glad the trip went well and safe. How great that your hubby will finally be home on Monday!!

Hi Lav, Star, Sooty, MG, Mr. G, Rusty (hope you're home by now!) and all the rest. Busy day tomorrow-craft fair and making party favors.

      Good morning guys

Cyn - welcome back, I'm glad you had a good trip. I love having Elle as company wherever I go, we are like Dastardly and Muttly :H. Hubby home on Monday! That will be lovely for you.

Blondie - A Course in Miracles! I love it! Yes I have the Course but I would love to attend a study group as it's pretty heavy stuff reading it on your own, that will be wonderful to be a part of. I tend to follow certain teachers of the course who I find interpret it in language I understand. I'm a huge fan of Marrianne Williamson and she does a great job at explaining it.

Right I'm off to my meeting, the down side is having to get up in the dark on a Saturday to get there on time, I would love a lazy day some time but it never seems to work that way! Papmom wish you could come too, I will be nervous walking into a room of strangers.
I will check in later, have a wonderful Saturday........

        Good morning everyone

Wow, this thread is busy. So good to see so many. Welcome back Cyn, glad your trip went ok. Will have to make a large coffee and catch up on all the posts. Just wanted to wish everyone a great AF week-end.

We have a work day in my daughters school and I am helping out for a few hours. Need to walk the doggies before I go. Catch you all later.

          Happy Sober Saturday everyone
PapMom-On the tea, yes it was STAR who said she liked the Candy Cane Lane CS tea...oops! So, Star, we have a favorite holiday tea in common! I really like that one and have it on breaks at work.
Pap, that Coconut one by Repbulic sounds awesome...we carry that brand at the store but I haven't seen that flavor...will have to check into that as it sounds yummy and decaf too boot!

Busy day ahead of me today so I'm off and runny and grateful for waking up without a hangover as I don't know how I managed before. I didn't manage well, that's for sure. But today, BRING IT ON!

Chill, yes, the Course of Miracles does seem pretty heavy. We are actually starting out first to take baby steps and are assigned to read The Gift of Change by Miriam Williamson, who I have heard so much great things about. I will keep you posted on how I do! Glad to know someone else has studied it before. Have a lovely meeting today, sounds great!

Hi Rustop! I'm having my large coffee right now too! Have a great day at that school.

I must dash to get ready for work. Have a super Saturday one and all!

            Good morning November friends!

Drinking my coffee & noticing how badly I need to dust & vacuum today. Dust, dog hair & cookie crumbs have taken over this week :H

              Good Saturday Morning everyone!

Decided NOT to go to the craft fair today. There is too much to do around here and next week is a bust with T-Day and the dog show.

Already did dishes, put laundry in (if that *&% dryer doesn't start working again it's getting kicked to the curb!!) and gave LM a much needed and overdue bath! I'm getting way too old to do this leaning over the bath tub so I think I have to save up for for one of those portable tubs I can stick in my tub and use my hand held shower. Now on to declutter what was once my Dining Room! Then friend is coming over to help me with party favors.

Whew! busy day already! See you all tonite!

Saturday evening hello to all --
Wow, the days really are getting shorter! The light just left the sky like a curtain coming down -- boom, it was dark. Glad I got the pup's evening walk in on time... At least we have just one more month, and then the days will get longer again.

Lav - I would love to have met with you! The AAA triptik routed me via I95, but I couldn't face getting past NYC, Newark and Philly, so I went I84 to I81 and down to Baltimore, where I stayed the first night. I had a little trouble with DC the next morning, but not too bad. I changed the route going back, and went through Stroudsburg (started by an ancestor of mine!) and the Delaware Gap, which was lots more fun than Scranton...

Chill - you brave girl, going to a new group. I so admire you. So already you did the thing they talked about - 'feel the fear and do it anyway'. I've been doing a lot of that lately. You are wonderful, how you are always growing and stretching. I also have gotten a lot out of Marianne Williamson - though I only listened to her tapes. She is so truthful and funny - I remember her saying the when we ask God to help us change our lives, we expect that we'll get re-decorating help, and in fact here comes a huge wrecking ball that shatters everything we were previously comfortable with. That was true in my case!

Hope all are well and cozy tonight - I've lit candles, a hold-over from the power outage - but I love the soft glow. Wishing you a happy AF night --

Hope everyone had a lovely Saturday.
I've been home most of the day, fighting a bit of a cold. Haven't been sick in so long, I'd forgotten that draggy, achey feeling. Did venture out to Trader Joe's (are they only in the West?) and it was a mad house. Then it occurred to me that it's the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Wrong time for a casual shopping trip.

I'm loving how spiritually oriented this thread has become. I actually went to a shaman yesterday in Santa Fe, a suggestion from my therapist. Working on changing some of the negative energy I've been dragging around for years. NM, especially Santa Fe tends to be very New Age. Right now I love exploring stuff like that without a load of expectations. Whatever happens, happens. For me spirituality is essential to my sobriety.
5 months yesterday folks. Where's SD?

Dew, you do the most wonderful things on the weekend. You too Chill. Are you both in Scotland?

Cyn, glad you had a good road trip. One of my son's went to Duke and I fell in love with North Carolina.

Blondie, welcome to the group. I too love the give and take of the posts. You really feel like you get to know people.

Pap, glad you're cutting back on the NH hours. They are hard places to work. I can only hope there are people out there who genuinely love work with that population.

Lav, are you hosting Thanksgiving? I'm going to an AA dinner. My husband is going to his brother's or staying home. He has never cared one way or the other whether or not we celebrate holidays (that goes for birthdays and anniversaries too) so I'm just going to do my own thing.

Hello to Star, Rustop, Rusty (are you home for turkey day?).

                    Good evening gang

Cyn - I can so relate to that wrecking ball! :H I guess we do have to be careful what we wish for. It's easy to say we wish things were different while staying in the comfort of not ever intending to change them. Stepping out that comfort zone is facing the fear and that wrecking ball.

Today was brilliant! I loved the group and I felt so at home, we were all versed on the same philosophies of life and the energy was very powerful. Everyone was encouraged to follow their heart and not be afraid to pursue things which seem impossible. It was an amazing boost to my confidence so much so that tonight I decided to message 3 business men I know in Portugal through Facebook and say I was thinking of returning next year and would be interested in any work that may be available. One already answered that he would probably be able to offer me some work next summer at a resort he has! It may come to nothing but it's a start.

Papmom - glad to see your having your usual relaxing Saturday

Lav - I have to spell the C-A-T word in front of Elle or her hackles are up!

Call out for SD, Speed and Rusty who must be home by now....

I'm interested in your Shaman experience, what exactly makes a Shaman? I recently found a retreat centre a couple of hours from me which I'd like to try which is run by Shamans and I don't really know anything about them.

                        Hey kids!

I started a war on dust, dog hair & cob webs today & I think I've won :H
Worked up a genuine sweat......ended up changing into a summer T shirt :H
My unused dining room is clean & shiney now because I plan to use it for the holidays this year

Shelley, I will be doing Thanksgiving next Saturday so everyone can be here........shift work for my son & in-law obligations for my daughter, etc. made changing TG from Thursday to Saturday. I'm really used to this so it's no big deal. My husband says he wants to join us ~ I just leave invitations open to him because only God knows where his head is at any given time
I started smudging the house a little over a year ago because I swear he leaves a trail of negativity behind him..........
Here's where I get my smudge sticks: Juniper Ridge - from the mountains and deserts of the West

Cyn, my DIL still has family in Stroudburg. I used to go to the Scranton area a lot as a kid too.
I don't blame you for statyimg off I 95, I avoid it at all costs myself. Lost a coworker on that nasty road years ago. Enjoy your candle light !

Chill, if you end up working in Portugal next summer we may just have to plan a filed trip for this group

Has anyone listened to the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers online ~ very cool!!!!

Guess I should think about feeding myself, it's 7 pm........I think there's soup in the fridge

                        Hi papmom!!

Oooooh, Lav, I love the field trip to Portugal idea...hook us up ChillGirl! Lav, you must be feeling great about your victory with the dust and cobwebs...I'll be tackling that next month in preparation for hosting Christmas this year. But no company for TG, so that buys me some time :H

Cyn-Glad to see another fan of M. Williams. I am currently reading her book, The Gift of Change. I love the spiritual nature of this group as well. I have been needing to reconnect in my spiritual life and look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Hi Spedtech! Thanks for the welcome... I love being here and look forward to participating every day. It's great therapy for me and instead of going to the "Nest" thread first, I now come here first. Glad to be settling in with you all.

PapMom-Sounds like you got a huge amount of work accomplished before noontime! Must feel great! So much better than nursing a hangover! That was the old me

Rustop, hope you had a good day working at your child's school! Have a relaxing evening I hope!

Hi to everyone else! I have another day of work lined up tomorrow but Sundays aren't typically too busy at the store...Saturday's the biggie and that's over with. Now to just get to Wed. night and then TG! At least I have more time on Sunday to have breakfast and coffee with my hubby and sleep in a bit longer. Store doesn't open till mid-morning and things are just more a bit relaxed on Sunday so that's nice after a day like today!

Bye for now and have a safe and peaceful night!:l

Sped - WOO HOO on 5 months!!! Fantastic, and the sound of your 'voice' is so clean and clear. So how did the experience with the Shaman go? I could have done a lot of that when I lived in the desert, but strangely I never got myself together to do it. Love your therapist for suggesting it. Thanks for posting, it's always so good to hear how you are.

Chill- how wonderful that your group was so powerful. And congrats on taking action! Things will unfold just as they should, I can feel it...

C-A-T, ha! My pups have done nothing but sleep since we returned home. They seem to handle everything so well when we do trips, etc. that I forget what a stressor it all is for them. What sweet beings, to hang in there with me even when they are exhausted and confused...

                            Wishing all sweet dreams --

                              Evening Everyone!

Sign me up for the Portugal trip!!

Well, I didn't totally declutter the DR but it does look a tad better! I did however finally switch my clothes around (summer to winter)-whoo hoo! I have a big bag filled with stuff that doesn't fit me anymore. You would think that would be motivation to lose at least 10 lbs but I have none right now. I'll keep the bag for a bit before dropping it off at GoodWill.
I also changed sheets, did one load of laundry, vacuumed, unclogged the bathroom sink AND got the favors done for the party with the help of my friend. So glad that is done!! They are cute.

Did a trip to Target before dinner and now I am wiped out!! Wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. Could use a down day I think!

                              Have a great nite everyone!
