    Nouveau Novembre - week 4

    Good morning to all....

Woke up to beautiful sunrise, I love when my day starts this way. Already started baking, and will soon be putting the dressing ingredients together. Feeling relaxed and stress free.

Dew, what a great weekend, and I love your motivation to start a part-time business. I would love to do something online, but don't know what to start or how to. I agree that stress can be the source of all kinds of dis ease. But life gives us stress and we have to be careful not to blame ourselves. We are accountable but do what we know, when we no better, we do better. Enough of platitudes.

SD, I wish I had the money to just go out and buy whatever I want for people without worrying, but I have had bills after Christmas and that is no fun. I love the music, decorations, smells, and anticipation. I wish I had a little kid in my life to enjoy their excitement, but not right now. As for your job, it must be frustrating when the authorities are not trained and they revictimize the victims. Wow, what a system. I work in social services and have to keep a professional distance, or I will not be able to sleep. Most of the time I can but at other times I am profoundly impacted and have high anxiety levels. It is hard to make sense of the intense suffering in our world, especially with kids.

Hi Rusty, nicer weather is coming.

Lav, you are such a great mother and grandmother. You give all the time and are solid as a rock, you family is so lucky to have you.

Blonde, you are such a lovely addition to our thread, I love hearing about your world.

Rustop, how awesome to be able to climb mountains, I live in flat land and although beautiful, mountains are mind blowing.

To all, hello and have a great day.

      Lunch time greeting from Lav

Busy all morning, Curves, work now waiting for the arrival of the ever crazy EB :H

Nearly washed my eyes out with bleach last night after clicking on FaceBook for a moment to see that my husband (just minutes before) had 'friended' someone who looks like hooker :H :H
I got angry of course then decided he's just friggin crazy. He was here a little while ago to take the tractor in for service & I confronted him about his new friend. Turns out she is the wife of a new employee of his For the Love of God ~ I don't need this agravation.....

Plan to take EB out for lunch if he ever gets here!
      Have a wonderful AF Wednesday.

I just lost a long post and I hate when that happens!!!!!!!!

Sooty-it's great to see you here! Please don't leave us again...you add so much to our thread and I feel your absence....and I don't like it (insert pudgy pouting face here). I don't think anyone here would say, "If you have a slip/hiccup/relapse....then you get bounced off this thread until you have 30 days." To me, that's just bullshit. And, I wanted to tell you how much I love love love talking to people from the UK because I had such a positive experience there. Gosh, people were so nice to me. Whenever people say that the British are cool, cold, distant, I think "well, they aren't to me!"

Lav, I am horrified and sad to hear that YB is "friending" (I hate that word....pass me a 5-gallon pail, I have to throw up) the wife of one of his employees!! Wow, that takes b_lls of brass. He might end up like John Bobbitt....singing soprano because his you-know-what got hacked off. Why don't you say, "YB...if I were you, I wouldn't dip my wick in the company ink." Star-you sound like you have a peaceful Thanksgiving planned with all the fixings.

Dew-I am totally with you regarding the AL and cancer link. Oh yes, I feel like I am at risk...so both my mom and her parents had colon cancer. Given my previous AL and my current Zeppelin weight, I'm at risk.

Rustop- a 4.5 mile hike up a mountain? Wow, you rock....and belated Happy 50th!!:l I'm so glad the retreat went well.

Ok, I have to talk to a few clients. Some are actually still working today!:H

          I'll be back though!

Hi Rusty and thanks so much, it's good to be back and I'm planning on staying this time!

It was my own restriction that kept me away, coupled with some shame and despondency. I always knew that I would be welcome on here and I was right

I'm glad you had a positive experience in the uk - where did you visit?

Lav - YB on FB befriending certain "types" of ladies sounds like a mid-life crisis to me..... Im actually at a bit of a loss for words and it just adds to the confusion of the whole damn situation. I hope EB helps to take your mind off it. :l

              Shout out for Papmom.....

CHILL...OMG!! I have never seen you online before. :-) I bet you are ready to walk Elle and settle in with a good book. :-) (((HUGS)))

Lav, you know me well enough to know that I wasn't being insensitive....I am so sad for you to hear about his escapades....I'm with Ms. Chill-it is a mid-life crisis, and....it has NOTHING to do with you...you mentioned his PIA mother before......and all I can say is....he has a very low opinion of himself...always has...and he fancies the younger "lady" to boost his confidence. It's a pipe dream of his....probably.

I am so sorry Lav...and we are here for you always!

Sooty....our family had a business in Nottingham but I visited Leamington Spa (work), Birmingham (work) and Manchester (work). Do you feel comfortable enough to tell us where you live?

SHOUTOUT TO PAPMOM, BLONDIE....ANYONE???? CHECK IN, PLEASE. :-)

hey hey! I'm here-no worries. Just really tired lately and no energy to do much but work and read the posts.

Lav-YB leaves me scratching my head and I bet his FB behavior leaves his employee wanting to do more than that!!

Rusty-all ready for tomorrow? Do you have friday off too? I do and am psyched although I do have to work at the NH in the evening ****Last Friday Forever!!!****
What do you mean you've never seen Chill online before? Maybe it's an inside joke?

I bet Blonde is exhausted by now! I bet the store was uber busy!!

Dill-good on ya for starting the process of getting into business for yourself. The experts all say to start part time just in case it doesn't work out. Can't wait to hear what business it is and what the accountant says!!

Chill-Listening to NPR on the way home, all I could think of was THANK GOD our Chill Girl didn't go to Egypt last year!! It is horrifying what is happening there!

Star-sounds like you had today off-very nice! We got out at 4 instead of 5 so I'll take it. No traffic on the way home either. Of course I stayed away from all the major highways and took secondary roads as I did some errands on the way.

Sooty-so glad you're back with us. That is all.

Rustop-4.5 mi mountain hike? Wow!! You put a lot of us to shame! Glad you had the opportunity tho. We have one mountain in my area and believe me, I've NEVER climbed to the top :H!!'

SD-sorry to hear you had another bad case this week but you seem to be handling things well. those kids are so lucky to have you but don't let that stop you from doing what is right for you!

Shout out to LBH and Sped!

So yesterday I got a surprise check in the mail from my old mortgage company. Just short of $400. That and the check for the car repair from the Ins co (which I've decided not to repair the car-not worth it and it's only cosmetic) allowed me to buy a new laptop today. My old laptop was ancient by todays standards (3 yrs old ) and the moniter had blown and I'm missing a few keys on the keyboard. There was a great deal on an HP G series with a 17.3" screen and built in webcam PLUS it has a numeric keyboard!! That is key for when I work from home. It has a ton of memory, it's very fast and probably is way more computer than I need but it was time and the deal was super super good. For less than the non sale price of this laptop, I also was able to add a 500 GB external hard drive that will make transferring my stuff over a piece of cake as well as I will be able to set up weekly backups which I've never done before (bad Papmom). I'm too tired to set it up today so will tackle it either tomorrow or Friday. On one hand I hate the fact that my lifestyle revolves around technology which means shelling out constant $$, but on the other hand, technology is hopefully going to allow me to make some serious PT money that more than offsets the expense. I don't think I'll be able to write this purchase off as it will not be used as part of my business at whatever percentage it needs to be but that's OK.

So that's my exciting news for this week. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing my whole family. Saturday is the big dog show cluster with tons of vendors, agility, conformation and the best part of all, a free lunch after the papillons are judged. Sunday is the NH and then back to the grind on Monday.

See you all tomorrow before I commit gluttony!!

Hi Everyone! I'm Here, I'm Here!!!

Yes, store was super busy today Pap...glad to get this week behind me although I must say I enjoyed every minute and my team did a wonderful job keeping up with the pace. I am very proud of them and also my boss gave me a pat on the back tonight and thanked me for everything. I feel appreciated more at this little company than I ever did when I worked for larger ones and brought in sales numbers that were in the millions. What a difference a career makes in your life. I'll take the lower pay and better life, that's for sure. It's so funny how your priorities change over time.

Star-Sounds like you had a fun and relaxing time doing your cooking and baking. I'm sure it all turned out spectacular! Tomorrow morning I'll be baking cupcakes to bring for our TG dessert. We'll be taking the dog for a walk on the beach hopefully. Supposed to be sunny and cold tomorrow so we'll just bundle up.

Rusty, thanks for the Shout Out...makes me feel good. Love being a part of this thread. You are all so wonderful and caring.

Looking forward to my first sober TG in several decades. I had some anxiety about this earlier this week but now I am really resolved about not drinking at all, not even on holidays or special occasions. I just don't want to ever wake up hungover again...period.

Well, good night to everyone! Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow, thanksgiving or not, depending on where you are in the world!

                    Sweet dreams
Whatever you invest in the circle of LIFE is what comes back to you. Multiplied. What you give to people is what they eventually give back to you. Don't do the math. Just increase your LOVE.

                    BE HAPPY...BE CONNECTED...BE HEALTHY!

Good evening friends ~ what a day

YB ended up coming back when he found out I was getting EB for the day & planned to take him out for lunch. That all went OK except I noticed EB was not quite 'himself'. He crawled onto my lap in the restaurant & I noticed he felt 'warm'. Oh boy ~ sick kids during the holidays is so typical. Apparently he is brewing something...... He goes to his other grandparent's house in NJ tomorrow. I hope whatever he's coming down with isn't too bad.

                      About the FB incident......
YB claims that 'she' sent him the friend request (of course). I told him that her husband needs to know she has such a raunchy profile picture & is sending it to old men like YB :H
His mid-life crisis started when he turned 42. He just turned 59 last month. It's time to end the bullshit IMHO.
He left for a while after lunch then came back again for dinner. So the question is - what does he want???

Sooty, hope you are getting stronger sister. Love having you back

Rusty, enjoy a few days off, OK?

papmom, I bought myself a HP G72-B60US Notebook last winter - it's awesome!
                      Enjoy it!!!

Chill, hope you are sound asleep by now!

Blondie, just wait - sober holidays rock!!!!!!!

I'm getting caught up with some work tomorrow since TG is not until Saturday at my house!
                      Wishing everyone a great night.

                        Hi All!

Just quick shout out....Lav, this is just my two cents, take it or leave it...I'm guessing this gal probably did ask to be his friend...sounds like she's a real upstanding lady with that kind of profile. Chances are, her hubby either knows about her facebook "friends" and doesn't like it or doesn't care, either way it tells you something about their relationship. If YB doesn't have a bunch of young )or old) single (or married women that aren't you two mutual friends) I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much. That's just my thought on it....plus coming back today, kinda sounds like he wanted to make sure you weren't upset...I dunno??

Pap3--I hope you got an awesome deal...make sure you watch the Black Friday ads...if they go on sale, you can take the receipt back and they will refund your money the difference I believe!

Blondie--Enjoy your next couple of days off!! Sounds like you deserve it...you've worked hard!!

Rusty-I'll be thinking about you tomorrow while watchin' the Green and Gold!!:yay: Have a wonderful day with your family!!

Star--which part of Social Service did you work for?? Just curious...I didn't realize there were so many different dept. actually...I usually only call one certain dept (sadly)!!

Chill--I knew you wouldn't be too upset with me about liking Christmas! LOL! Hope your job outing having to look at homes went ok--did you have to wear rubber gloves?? LOL! Sometimes when I have to do home visits, I about gag walking into the homes where the kids have live...poor babies!! So disgusting!!

Alright....I better go get some rest so I can prepare to gorge tomorrow!!! This really is a lazy man holiday...eat and sit around and watch football!! LOVE IT!!!
                        Happy Turkey Day EVERYONE!!!! :l

Happy Thanksgiving folks, I hope you have a lovely day doing whatever takes your fancy.

I'm off to zumba this morning and I'm thankful I can still exercise.

Rusty I live in Wales now but I grew up in the Midlands, spent 5 years not far from Leamington and a year in Birmingham! Haven't been there for years.

Lav I'm feeling good thanks. I woke early this morning, full of dread, until I remembered I hadn't had a drink, I just woke early . Happy days!

I hope YB sorts himself out, sounds like he's concerned about your opinion of him, to bother to come back.

Off to make a cup of tea and start the day. Have a good day one and all

HAPPY THANKSGIVING MY FRIENDS! I give thanks for you guys every day and just to feel part of it I will break my strict food regime and pig out today with you all!! :H

Blondie - it's music to my ears hearing you say you never want another hangover. Waking up clear headed day after day is still awesome for me and the very though of a light hangover fills me with dread. Also on days like this, Christmas etc, I'd be numb with alcohol in no time instead of being fully present to enjoy what's going on. You sound in such a good place work wise and I'm glad you are appreciated. Enjoy your time off.

Lav - I think what SD said makes a lot of sense, she probably did make the request to YB and it maybe boosts her ego to have more male friends. I think poor YB is innocent and the amount of time he's around you shows where he wants to be, albeit confusing.

Papmom - I love technology! I'm lying in bed typing this on my iPad. It's my most fav possession. Rusty was referring to the green light that shows if I'm online, I changed the settings which were previously set as "hidden".

Sending cyber love to you all across the pond on your holiday and want to hear all your sober antics. Love to all on this side too, it's cold, dark and rainy in Troon but the day awaits me......
