Thanks for starting us off Chill. Just a quick check in from me. Going to a Craft Fair with a friend for the day. The stuff is amazing. Dont really need anything except two foodie type presents but enjoy looking around.

SD, So glad you are back at home, hopefully your life will be smooth for a time.

Chill, it is so hard to go back to work after time off, isn't it? The weather here is dark and gloomy too, good to work in.

Blonde, loved your slippers, I am definitely getting some pink slippers this weekend.

Rustop, have fun shopping, craft fairs are always fun. I have not been to any this year, I was out of town when our community had several.

Chill spoke of the year going fast, and the days seeming shorter....I wonder if winter is a good time to slow down, reflect, and ponder what is important in life. I read an article on MSN this morning about how life is mostly about the simple things, having good work to do and working hard giving satisfaction, giving to others is more rewarding than accumulating stuff for yourself, and making sure your partner is a good fit is key. I also think living fully in the moment is vital to a good life. We are encouraged to do more, buy more, and live our lives at the speed of light! I can't do that, never have been able to......

Hi all, I am new to this thread.:new:

I've been posting on the daily thread though. I quit cold turkey on feb 14th of this year. I've read the discussions here and I'm very impressed with how much you all seem to understand about the process of breaking free from dependancy. I am a Canadian in bc. I'm very glad to have made it to nine months....and a bit concerned about december for obvious reasons. I was very much a closet abuser with long periods of abstinence and was likely allergic, as it didn't take much to make me feel poisoned. Life is great now, and I'm wanting to keep it that way. Your wisdom will wash over me:H

Rustop - how was the craft fare? I did the little shopping I had to do online.

Lav - Indeed, 2 more in the family is a big change this year and I bet you cant imagine life without them, its so lovely hearing how much you enjoy them.

Star - As always I enjoy your thoughtful posts and agree that reflection is vital. I had a stressful day and as it went on, so did the negative monkey chatter in my mind. When I got home I wrapped up warm and headed out in the dark to walk Elle and listened to a spiritual podcast. That slowed me down and put me back on track. Im tired and thats not a good time to be trying to sort out lifes challenges, they can wait.....

Instead I will be joining Sooty of the sofa for.........

Evening all from London, I?m sitting in bed watching Question Time and eating a tray of strawberries and a bag of chocolate coated peanuts ? yum. Had the all clear at the hospital yesterday so I?m feeling very happy about that and so is my Consultant so I?m confident for the future and feeling positive. Wooohooo :happy::happy:

We have another busy thread so welcome all the newbies joining us and hello to the oldies dropping by. There?s something heartening about starting a new month, a fresh start and the chance to leave things behind and move forward. I also like the fact that this is the last month of the year and soon brings to a close all the year has brought us and the opportunity to put our house in order and prepare to face the New Year. I?ve been doing a lot of reflection myself recently and I plan on being very grateful this month for many things.

Better get a move on and get some sleep or I?ll be no use tomorrow and it?s going to be a busy one!

Hello Dazzling and Diligent December. That certainly covers a range of possibilities! I thought I should return given the challenges of the season which can leave me unsettled to say the least. Holidays aside, this morning in response to a major storm warning (it is currently awful with cross winds outside my front door between sixty and seventy mph), I went out to pick up groceries and actually briefly thought I should include ?a bottle of whiskey for emergencies?; what in the world was I expecting, that I would have to set a broken leg, pull a tooth, perhaps extract a bullet? Of all the excuses I have entertained, the ?Wild West? had not yet been among them:H.

I'll catch up carefully over time with each of you. I shall think of us as the diligencia.
