I will be watching my grandsons again all day tomorrow. My son's work schedule changed unexpectedly & my DIL had not arranged for the sitter so.........Mi Mom will step in! I guess my weekend will be devoted to catching up on my work - oh well, not a problem.

A quick late check in,
LBH is right, 60 to 70 mph winds here tonight with snow and cold weather to come.

Yea, good news sons #2 and #3 are both coming home for Xmas. Son #1 is defending his PhD dissertation on Dec. 16th so he is too preoccupied with academia to think about going anywhere I guess.

Good to see all those newcomers as well as all the regulars.

Sorry, Chill...I like our December name...it's very fitting for our dazzling and diligent group of gals (and guys)!! We all sure have had some ups and downs throughout the year but through it all, we've been there for each other...it's been awesome to be a part of such a wonderful group!!

With that, welcome to all our new people and welcome to everyone who has just popped in to say hello!! Always nice to see new faces!! Looking forward to getting to know each of you!

Sped--Yea!!! At least you are going to have some of your kids home for the holidays!!! And maybe Son #1 will surprise you...I'm guessing once everything settles down with the dissertation, he may change his mind....maybe just too much on his plate right now to even think about Christmas.

Sooty--like you and Chill, I had a lazy night tonight watching some TV...mostly football...no teams I really cared about, mainly just background noise while my son and I ate dinner and did homework!!

Dew--YEA to you too!!!! I'm so glad your appointment went well!!! And you bed night snack sounded wonderful!! (My son always called his snack before bed his bed night snack). LOL!!

Rusty?? Where are you today....traveling??? Just curious....hope you're doing ok!!

You too Pap3....I read some of your posts on another thread...I normally only have time to get on this one but tonight I read a couple others....I really should respond to some others...I just sometimes feel like I probably don't have much to add??? I don't know.

Star--Has the weather where you are taken a turn?? It's gotten so cold here in the past two days...no snow, but so cold...and of course I have recess duty (twice) tomorrow!!! UGH!!! I come back in from outside and my fingernails are blue!!! Stay warm!!

It's rained all week and has turned very cold here. I have a day of more house inspections. *sigh* I'm getting fed up spending all my time in dirty cold rentals although I managed a chuckle at the contrast I am experiencing. I used to sell villas worth millions on the golf course in one of the most exclusive resorts in Europe and here I am inspecting unmade beds in a grotty corner of Scotland. :H

Had a nice time at the craft fair, some beautiful stuff but with prices to go with it! Got two mini hampers (my last two presents) and bought a jacket for my daughter. For myself I bought a rejuvinating peat facemask!! Us over 29's need a bit more help.

GOOD MORNING DOUBLE Ds!!!!!:H (Thank you, SD...love it!)

TGIF here in Rustyland....where I am working with a company close to my mom. She cracks me up. My sister, SIL and I have been planning for a week to get together and put up my mom's pre-lit Xmas tree, Nativity, and other decorations. So yesterday afternoon we did, and....we were all excited to plug in the white lights of the Nativity, tree, and the fireplace decoration I had made for her, etc. and then my mom proceeds to unplug all of the above and exclaim..."I'm not ready for Christmas yet!":H Ah, my mom is 84 and tired.

LBH-good to see you! I've missed you....and man, GREAT job on not giving into the whiskey in order to "deal" with a Wild West disaster. Back on your horse, woman!

Sped-I am so thrilled that #1 and 3 sons are coming home for Christmas! Now, I can see why Son #2 said he didn't know if he wanted to come home....he's putting his dissertation together and right now he's focusing on the most important thing....good for him. You probably just caught him at a weak moment, where he was feeling overwhelmed and vulnerable and couldn't even fathom discussing the details of flying home.

Welcome all newcomers! It's great to see new people on our thread who are either staying for a while or are just popping in to say hello.

Big hello to everyone else....I've been here at work since 5:30 a.m. and must get back to work.

Oh boy, lots of good happenings on here...I just hit my 30 yesterday and you are paving the way with 5 months...awesome job, you are inspiring to me :l I read that it may not be 5 days or might be...hmmm, in either case, you are wonderful and deserve a pat on the back!

Hi Chill, sorry about the weather forecast. That is usually our weather here but for whatever reason, the sun god hasn't want to disappear for the winter as it has been very mild and beautiful for us here in temperamental New England. Sending sunny thoughts your way anyways.

Well, gotta get back into the swing at work. Although, yesterday, I ended up going in on my day off for about 3 hours to assist in getting some food trays ready for a special holiday shopping event which took place last night. It's called "Ladies Night" and is held the first Thursday in December since the beginning of time in our town :H. All the Main Street shops put on a 20% off sale and serve food and beverages. We don't serve AL since we are a health food store, but many of the gift stores do (lordy, when I had a shop on Main Street several years ago, I served Champagne punch!). It's interesting to see the women get more and more buzzed as the evening wears on and they go from store to store in a shopping frenzy. I bet there are women today waking up with a hangover! Anyway, I stayed far away from the actual event and spent a lovely evening at home with hubs. But I did go in to work yesterday morning after my book club meeting and whipped up 3 georgeous cheese platters. I should have taken a picture to show you all. My bosses were really pleased with the extra time (unpaid on my part as I am salaried) but it was my way of giving a little extra without having to participate in the actual evening event, which goes till about 10PM. No thanks!

Sounds like a few of us are advocates for the low carb diet! I have a new breakfast dish that I have discovered which is super easy. It's called Baked Eggs. You just butter the bottom of a small baking dish or loaf pan and crack a few eggs in the bottom. Pour a little whole cream over the top (or not) and dot with butter and bake for about 15 minutes till the eggs are set...I find that I can pop it in and catch up on MWO while it is baking and then it is done. Not an original recipe but for those who love their eggs for breakie, it is easy and quick. And I find it stays with me until I get to eat again which is around 1PM.

Rustop-I enjoy craft fairs too, especially the holiday ones. Haven't been to one yet this season though. Hope your facial mask left you glowing!
