    Good evening my fellow Abbers,
Today was my first (again) day in Absville since July. The day is almost over and I am sipping Perrier. Had only 2 glasses of Champagne with hubby and then went to bed before midnight (I felt safer in bed). So I am looking forward to a much better year and tomorrow I will go and burn all the 2006 calendars in the furnace.
Happy 2007 and thanks for being there.

      Happy New Year All!!!!!

I for one am so glad that it is Jan 1st and the rush is over!! I did have a few slips over the holidays but managed to stay AF last night even though I hosted a New Years Eve party. It was a bit odd to be serving wine and not drinking but I think that if I started drinking I wouldn't put out the desserts and coffee and that wouldn't be responsible. After only sleeping a few hours last night I feel pretty good. If I'd been drinking I would be a complete mess.
I'm ready to take on 2007 and I too will start to track my drinks here. I hope to remain AF for Jan.

Lisa, I want to congratulate you on your 60(and now more) days AF. You have really come so far. By the way...your cat is looking very slim in your avatar.Has kitty been on a diet??????

I look foward to getting reacquainted with you all again. Let's have a great January.

I'm going to finish Alan Carr's book tonight. Despite my slips over the holidays I'm finding it very helpful.

Have a good night and Happy 2007.

        Hi Janet-
I'm so happy you are here. Thanks for the pat on the back too - positive reinforcement does wonders for me

Oh, and no, kitty has not been on a diet...this is actually a different kitty ( the slightly slimmer daughter of the other napping kitty) they look so much alike though!

lori....I'm happy to be moving on to a new year too. 2007 has a nice feel to it already.

            Happy New Year from Canada!

Hello all! Happy, happy New Year from me here in Canada.

New Years was a quiet one! Woke up with no hang over - first in probably a dozen years. I was completely bored to tears however!!!!!! Christmas was a different story - but don't want to get into it, because now I want to focus on the positive. One thing I did discover, however, is that I need to work on my WILL POWER!!!:H

Here is to wishing all of us a WONDERFUL 2007! I am excited about being sober - and today is a brand new start for all!

Hi newgirl....so sorry you are having a hard time tonight. Do you have alcohol in your house? Can you get rid of it if you do?
Can you make some tea? chocolate? hot bath? all of those at once?
Can you try getting in bed and watching tv? Think about waking up tomorrow and feeling good. Just have to not give in tonight.
