    NOW Jan.3!!

    Good morning Absville!

Today is Wednesday Jan. 3 2007! Wow that feel funny to write!

Just thought I would start the day off.
All is well here on the funny farm and starting to get back to "normal"....what ever that is!

I have another thing to add to my 2007 goal list....
I'm taking as much white sugar and white flour out of my diet as possible.
That means that I won't use processed food and eat more whole foods and live foods.
Live foods are fruit and veggies and anything that has been alive and miminally processed.

    What do you guys think?
    Want to join me?

XOXO to all and I hope you have a joy-full day.
    Nancy

    Happy Abs Day to All-

I try to eat that way too Nancy and have found it easier when not drinking. All my resolve would go out the window with alcohol and I would crave terrible things like Dorritos. I am feeling very good about my diet now. Have you tried Ezekial bread? Or spelt pasta? Good healthy substitutes.

Abs is a pure delight for my body, mind, and spirit. And the shock of it is wearing off now and it just seems like my natural way of being in the world.

      Hello and good morning,

That sounds like a good idea Southern, I'm only on day 5 of AF a little cranky this morning but otherwise good. I think that is a wonderful idea to get rid of anything processed. along with any thing from the chips isle of the grocery.

I try to eat healthy for the most part lots of salads, I enjoy juicing which helps to detox my body alot faster.
Stuff like carrots and beets and so forth. I'm planning to do a juice fast in a couple of weeks.

I hear you lucky about the Dorritos I like those to but I'm sure they don't like me. And I can't wait to join you in that feeling.

      Happy day 3 to all!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I've tried Ezekial bread! I have to drive to a mojor city to get it though. Do you get it fresh or frozen?
I used to have a recipe for it. I'll try to find it and post it on recipies.

There are muti-grain Sun chips and Tostitos now. Not bad with our salsa.

I'm also looking for some fun exercize thing to do. Helping cut wood the other day was a workout but not much fun....my arms really got a burn!

        XOXO Nancy

          Nancy,

I get the Ezekial bread from the refridgerated section in the healthy food area of the store. It is easy to find in many stores in CA. I have just discovered their english muffins too. They also make a pasta so keep your eyes open for it.

I got a Reebok exercise weight vest. It has like maybe 10 lbs of weight in it balanced from front to back. I love it and wear it around often just to burn more calories when I am doing something as simple as cleaning the house just to burn a few more calories. It also keeps me warmer now that it is winter. I have worn it to the grocery store and get funny looks. People think it is a bullet- proof vest, especially since it is black.

          Take care-

              Yes, Happy New Year All!

Finally back to work today, after the flu. So grateful to feel better. Major - Yuck! Healthier foods is a definate for 2007. Plus, I want to do more meatless meals. I'm sure I will hear protests from the masses!

Day 7 for me! It just occurred to me that it's a whole week. Awsome! Good for me! Oh yes, another goal for 2007 is to give myself credit when I deserve it. I don't need to wait for other's approval and praise.

              Hugs, :l

                    Hi to all of you,
As I have already posted in another tread, this is my 3rd. day AF and so far so good. Well, actually, I feel really good and have a stupid grin on my face all day.
Have been cooking some high fibre stir frys etc. We really love barley in many shapes and forms. We put it in soup, make a salad with it or substitute it for rice. MMMMMMMM........it is so good. I make a lot of broth, that only has veggie as a base. It is really low cal and I can make it in the oven and forget about it. Then I strain our the veggies and voila, I have a clear broth, which I can freeze and rethaw in a hurry.
Well, anyway, I just thought you might want to know. Have a good sober day and enjoy yourself.

Hi Nancy and everyone! I'm with most of you..starting the new year with fresh fruit and veggies for a while. I'd love to drop 12 pounds and know that I will by Valentines Day...I know it because I've been here before with this mindset, and it feels really good.

Week 13, or maybe it's 14 of Abs for me. I'm cutting out the white stuff too for a while. After having a flu bug over the holiday, I just really want to do a whole body cleansing. I've done fast for years..at least once a year, so it's about time to do something similar, but I don't like to fast in the winter..soo, mostly just eating fruit and veggies..a little protein from time to time.

I got back on the treadmill this morning, did some yoga and went back to work after being off since Dec. 21. The holiday was filled with sick grandkids, husband and then me..so coming back to work was actually a relief (unfortunately).

I'm feeling very positive about the new year..I've been systematically clearing my plate of extraneous activities with the goal of having a simpler, zen like daily life...visions of my garden have been dancing in my head..which is great...I love to garden but the last couple of years it has felt more like a chore because I was drinking...the good in the garden is calling me. I'm glad that I can hear the call!
                        Namaste everyone...and Happy New Year.
