Is it us or just coincidence? :H Very happy to see you here everyday as well!
Thanks Lav, and Cyn for your encouraging comments, and Dill, glad you liked the music.

I've got no idea why there aren't more blokes here. It's not the company that's for sure.

      Have a great week everyone.

January Jewels - week one 2012!

        Good morning jewels

Boy is this a busy thread! So great to see so many of us here.

Cass - it will be good if you can drop by regularly, I get to see what you are up to from FB but here we can be so much more "ourselves".

Lav - I'm reading a great book at the moment by Neale Donald Walsch called "When Everything Changes, Change Everything". Quite honestly I could do without more changes but I have to propel myself forward again into the unknown to find some peace.

Kaslo - beautiful photo indeed, looks magical. Wally, I was a slug too yesterday and hung about most of the day. It's ok once in a blue moon but I prefer to be active and today I intend to get busy again.

Papmom - I loved my bouncing Doggy congrats, brilliant! :H

During my quiet day yesterday I did a lot of thinking although I still have no clue what I'm going to do. I have to renew or terminate my lease by end of Jan so I have 4 weeks to decide. The most important thing is to stay centred and calm as in my previous spiral I could see nothing but blackness and in that it's impossible to make desicions, it's like being in a tight box being unable to move.

Dill and Lav mentioned the Power of Now and it is such an important teaching. I'm currently being drawn to The Couse In Miracles although the dialogue is quite heavy. I just know that if I go inside and get really still, I will find my answers.

It's cold and damp here and after my walk I intend to get my ass into the gym and try and deal with the holiday chocolate binge I have been on! Have a great day gems.......

January Jewels - week one 2012!

Lots of posts to catch up with, I slept like a baby last night for 8 hours woke up let the cat out and then went back to bed for another 2 – lazy bizim I have no plans for today just reading, pottering and a long walk to get out into the fresh air which is something I must get back into doing regularly. It looks very cold out today but the sun is shining so as long as I wrap up and keep my ears cosy I’ll be fine. The rug rats all have furry earmuffs and I’m thinking of buying a pair for my beach walks - maybe pink

It’s great to see new peeps joining us and I’m so glad you decided to come back and join us Kaslo, I guess to many we may seem like a very close bunch (which we are) but we welcome new friends with open arms – the more the merrier. You can all share as little or as much as you want it’s up to you, all I know is there is a ton of support and people are very non judgemental and very diverse. At the same time if a kick up the arse is what’s needed then that’s what you get. Our goal is to remain AF and a daily or weekly check in anchors that goal and keeps us accountable.

I’m off into the day mindfully doing the very best I can – one foot in front of the other.

          Dewdrop :h

forgot to say - love the music Mr G what a wonderful gift.
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

            Good morning everyone

:welcome: all the new people and lovely to see some old faces back. Thanks for checking in Cassia, it is great to hear that everything has turned out so well for you.

Dont have much time these days to get online so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Got a kindle for Christmas and was looking for something to download. I think the first thing I will get is Dill recommendation of The Power of Now.

After a very mild few weeks it is now turning cold here. Going to wrap up well and take the goldie for a walk.

Hope 2012 is a good one.

              Good morning to all.....

Dill, so glad to have you back. Moderation is a myth for most of us, what is the point of one or two drinks anyway? It was so wonderful to wake up January 1st feeling healthy and clear headed. I will work on doing this everyday for 2012. PM me anytime.

Chill, two years, you are so determined and such an inspiration to all of us. I know you are in a scary place right now, and I am sending you thoughts of calm and peace.

Welcome back Cassia, so great to hear that you are loving the US and your hubby has found a job.

Kaslo, I have followed you on the daily thread and welcome any info about you......you have alot of good and important things to say that are helpful, and I love your photos.

It is snowing here, woke up to at least 6-7 inches of snow andit is supposed to snow till Tuesday!!! Wow, we are making up for all that beautiful weather in December. Out with the boots, scarves, and mittens. To all, have a great AF day.

January Jewels - week one 2012!

                  Good Monday morning Jewels

Turning cold here too Star but no snow yet
I really could do without it all winter but I don't get that choice, do i?
                  Stay warm & toasty!!!

Chill, stay calm & listen.......the answer will come to you
Spiraling out of control does not serve us in any way, does it?? I know that from personal experience as well. I think it's funny that EB (at the sage old age of 3) has started asking me what I'm going to plant in the garden in Spring. He's seen the seed catalogs arriving & sitting in a pile here. It's a nice reminder that the winter will soon be gone & we can start planning for Spring activities now

Rustop, I have The Power of Now on my Kindle ~ you'll love it!!!!

Dewdrop, so glad you are feeling more like yourself! Enjoy your day & stay healthy!

G, what are you up to today??

I'm off to Curves now - must work off those cookies, etc, etc.
Have a great AF Monday one & all.

January Jewels - week one 2012!

What a cheery collection of gems this morning! Dew, so glad to hear that you are feeling better, and able to get out a bit. Rustop, how are you doing with just the goldie? So glad that you have another 4 paws to be with. OK Lav, the Power of Now I will try - started it years ago, but just couldn't stay with it - too much monkey brain, probably. Maybe now. Star - you lucky duck! Snow! There is none on the horizon for us, just rain, boo hoo, I'd much prefer some dry snow to the mucky mud - oh, I may regret saying that at some point. Anyway, enjoy - go make a snow angel for me.

P3 or Dill or Lav or whoever, could you post the Photobucket instructions (again, hmmmm - this time I promise to print them out). I'd love to post a pic of the felted mittens. (PS - did I say that on Xmas Eve day I treated StepD to picking out alpaca yarn for a cowl that I am now to make for her? I'm such a push-over. Well, some goals for me this year are to read more and to knit more, so maybe this project will help...)

Wishing all a beautiful day...(PS Chill, your plan sounds exactly right - sending you lots of light to help see)

                      Photobucket instructions

                      1. Upload photo to photobucket (most smart phones have an app that will automatically do this for you)
                      2. Find pic and click on "Share"-this located under the pic
                      3. Click on the 3rd tab: "Get Link Code"
                      4. Copy code under "IMG for Bulletin Boards and Forums"-you can choose either full size or thumbnail. If you choose thumbnail, we can click on it on MWO and get to the full size
                      5. Past code into your MWO post. You can use the Preview mode before sending to make sure the pics came through and look OK. I don't think there is a size limit.

                      Have fun!

Still feeling like crap today which means between yesterday and today I didn't get done what I wanted to. Not sure I'm going to keep my appt with my niece today. Guess I will decide after lunch. I'm very fatigued with all the other symptoms of a full blown cold. These next 2 weeks are my busiest at work so I definitely can't afford bronchitis or pneumonia!! Bah.

January Jewels - week one 2012!

                        Hey all,
I'm cat sitting in Indiana. Snowing lightly here.
I relapsed briefly after all my kids had left after Christmas. Know relapse is a common symptom of this disease but it does get damn tiring. My 6 months was not for naught. I learned a lot, found some peace. One thing I know for sure is that I will never stop trying.
Hope you don't mind if this once again newbie stays on this thread. It's where all my friends are.

                        Love and pax, Shelley

Sped, please, you must always feel welcome here. :lSo sorry to hear about the relapse. You are doing so well, though. I hope you don't find it too difficult to get back on board. I have been struggling a bit with it, but am determined.

Lav and R59, how do you like your kindles? Do you still read old-fashioned books? I also wonder if books that require illustrations can be on the kindle. For instance, I like knitting and crochet books with pictures and illustrations.

For me, reading the Power of Now did not work out the first time I tried. I must be an auditory learner, because the book came alive for me when read by its author. Cyn, I do recommend the audio if the written doesn't hold your attention.

Papmom, thanks for the Photobucket steps. I haven't done it in so many months, I had forgotten how. Also, thanks for the link to your blog.

Star, so good to be back, and thank you for your offer to PM. I'm hanging in for now, but I may take you up on that in the future! Also, glad to hear your son is doing so well. (I've done some reading before I started back to posting.)

SD, I hate it when the local stations black out the footbal games. Apparently it is a league rule that if the game is not sold out, it gets blacked out. Bad rule if you ask me!!

I wish a wonderful and AF day to all!:h
