Free and Fit - Week 3

    Hello all -

Back from my trip - just read this week -

Chill - fantastic! One just never knows what's around the corner...

Sooty - so sorry for your loss, that is one of the hardest things...

Lav - you deserve, and I'm sure you will receive, all good things for everything you do for all of us, your family, and you-know-who...

More later when I can catch up --
    to the light

Free and Fit - Week 3

      Morning folks,
Sorry my posts are so infrequent but know that I do visit MWO daily. Plugging along here, 16 days sober. I always say don't count the days but always end up doing it anyway.

Chill, what good news for you. I thought of the word serendipitous!

Sooty, so sorry about your dog. I read E,P, L a couple of years ago. Also went to hear the author speak. She was so witty, engaging.

Star, I joined the Unitarian church when I was 14 because they were so opened minded and were strong advocates for civil rights, but like Dill said, I guess it varies from congregation to congregation. My church these days is AA, plenty of spirituality there.

Lav, I had to laugh about the sweater. His offering when I guess he just can't find the words.

Rustop, your swimming is inspiring me to get back in a pool someday soon.

Rusty, know I've been out of the loop, but what are you studying for??

I ran before dawn this morning, lovely and quiet. Plan to spend the day working at the homeless shelter I've been volunteering at for about 8 months now. Yesterday I went cross country skiing for the first time in about 20 years. Folks, it wasn't pretty but I'm trying it again tomorrow.

Somebody (Star?) said they hated February. Hey, at least it's short!

      Love to all.

Thank you so much for your kind words, they have helped me a great deal.

Chill many congrats on the job offer, I hope it all works out for you.

Lav I'm sure the universe has something very special planned for you, you certainly deserve it!

Off to do some jobs now and take the young dog for a walk, brr it's looking very cold and bleak out there.

Have a good day everyone :l

          Good morning Fit friends,

Rushing around to get some things done before heading out to meet friends for lunch

Think I'll wear my new sweater :H
It's a gray, zip up cardigan style & I do like it.

Shelley, cross country sounds like brutal exercise, good for you
Great to see you as always!

Great to see everyone & wishing us all a fabulous AF Thursday.

              Evening guys

Thank you Sid and everyone else for your wonderful sentiments.

I'm exhausted with over thinking everything that I have to do in the next few weeks and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed.
Im also trying to work out how I can afford the move on the little savings I have but I'm willing to sell what I can to raise a bit more cash. When I get scared I have been watching this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TBX7Ks5UBs&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/video]]Tavira, Algarve, Portugal - YouTube

This is of the beautiful town I will be living close to and when I see it, my heart hurts to be there and that's when I know everything will be ok :h

                Nice chill
But that sounds like some serious drinkin music going on - are you OK with that? I wish you the best of course

Had a nice lunch out with friends, got my hair cut & picked up a new coffeemaker from good old Walmart (such excitement :H)

Dark & damp all day today, hoping for some sun tomorrow. Heard the weekend may be problematic - weatherwise. Oh well.

Nothing else happening in Lav world.

                  Good Evening AF Friends,

I have just landed in Chicago and it will be soooo nice to spend the weekend at home.

It's been a while since I've checked in....but I just wanted to say...

CONGRATULATIONS, CHILL!:yougo::rockon: I am sooo happy for you! What a beautiful scene of the town.....it's not a town, it's a BEACH!!!:H Lucky woman! Is that you jumping??? Who was the photographer? Ummmm....is that your blouse or are you blessed with some "endowment?"

Sooty-so sorry about your beloved dog's passing. Our pets love us unconditionally, don't they. I hope time heals your sad heart.

Sped-I am studying for my recertification exam. We have to take this 6-hour exam every 3 years. I didn't get a full pass last year so I am retaking it. Good for you for running and X-C skiing. Congratulations on your AF time!:goodjob:

I must get back to studying. My apologies for not addressing everyone.

Have a wonderful AF Thursday night.

Chill-deep breaths my dear and one step at a time. Make your lists and don't worry about the $$. It will work out and you will get there. The video was gorgeous but why was he yelling? Wasn't he happy to be there? :H Now I totally get why your heart is in Portugal.

Lav-Glad you were able to to some retail therapy on this gray day!

Rusty- you are too funny about Chill's new avatar!! happy to hear you are back home at least for a while. Study on.

Sped-good to hear from you. you are so active! You should come to MA and kick my butt sometime!!

Hey sooty, dill, rustip. Where is our Dew?

Nice night at the NH. Residents were pretty mellow. It must have been the full moon last week that turned them into maniacs!!

Had to take my sewing machine to the "hospital" last nite. It kept breaking the thread and my instructor couldn't figure out what was wrong. Turns out I had a Singer bobbin in a Viking machine!! Do I feel like a dope!! I could have sworn I got rid of all those Singer bobbins!! I sure hope they aren't going to charge me $85 just to tell me that! I'll find out tomorrow nite.

Big plans for the weekend. Hair and color Sat morn then behaviourist app't for DD. Sunday is NH and Monday is a holiday. I was going to clean the house top to bottom but I have a craving to really dig into getting the Dining Room turned into a Sewing Room. I've got to pack up the rest of my dishes, clean out the sideboard and start putting things away and organizing. By using my DR pieces as well as the built in china cabinet, I may be able to get away with not purchasing anything but a couple of those plastic storage units you can get at Walmart. The dining room table will become my sewing and cutting table once I get the 2 leaves in. The china cabinet and sideboard will hold fabric and supplies. I may put up a pegboard over the sideboard to hold scissors, cutters and other tools. I have extra boards in the basement. Once I get it all organized (which won't happen in just one day I'm sure) I'll take pics and post. I'd rather try to fit the sewing station in my office but I can't take the chance of DD getting into things since thats his room during the day and I'd have to get rid of "his" loveseat! :H

time for tea and poptarts and then bed. :l

                      Good morning everyone

Just a quick check in to wish everyone a happy week-end.

Papmom - good luck with the re-organising. It is time consuming but there is such a sense of achievement when you get it all done. I did a job on our filing cabinet and office this winter and am very pleased with myself.

Off for a walk with the goldie and then picking my daughter up from her friends and going to the horse.

                      Have a great week-end everyone.

Chill, thanks for the link and what a beautiful place!

Papmom, You have my stamp of approval for your plans for the dining area make-over. I sew every now and then and the dining room table has always been my preferred location for laying out fabrics and patterns.

Lav, the sun is shining here, too and driving between worksites I couldn't help but feel hopeful about the coming spring. I think Mr. D and I will have to plan a road trip for Spring break.

I spent a very unrestful night last night with coughing and chills but I decided to come to work anyway. I am taking it as easy as I can and will go home if I get too tired, but I just had too much to do today to stay home.
                            Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                              Hey everybody,
Rustop, thanks for the inspiration. Just got back from the pool; swam half a mile.

Pap, your cleaning plans made me exhausted. I'd rather run around the block 50 times. Of course my house shows it. I am determined to get some household chores done today though.

Dill, feel better and have a restorative weekend.

Got an invitation to my nephew's wedding yesterday. It's in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Anybody ever been there. Looked at the resort's web site, lots and lots of drinking promoted.

I've never been to St Thomas but have been to Nassau, Bahamas several times & yes - they are all about the jungle juice there. I remember bringing home super cheap, local made rum.....
When is the wedding? Would it be possible to excuse yourself if you think you're not ready?

Dill, everyone is sporting some sort of cold or something. Hope you feel better soon. My youngest grandson has an ear infection, his Mother has a sinus infection (yuck) & my grandaughter has a cold. All of them sneezed & coughed on me repeatedly last week :H

Hi Star! Hope you had a good day. You too Rusty (give that neck a rest).

papmom, Sunday afternoon snow predicted
Think I'll just refuse it :H
