Free and Fit - Week 3

      Good Morning-

Not much new with me either...just real, real happy for the long weekend! My son lost his game yesterday (haven't won one yet)...but he played great which he was pretty excited about since his dad was here. Tomorrow morning I have one last "test" I have go finish up with (health-wise)...which is totally nothing, it's more a follow up than anything. I've been feeling a lot better (sometimes I think it's just having the hope that I can see a light at the end of this tunnel.

Kas--WOW--your description of that mountain view sounded amazing!! I'm sure it was breath-taking to be there!

Chill--hope you are doing ok today...been thinkin about you. :l I've experienced those "body crashes" after a period of high stress or constant motion (if you know what I mean). Our body keeps us in "fight mode" as long as we need it, but as soon as it senses we are OK, it lets us rest. Take this weekend (and longer now) to do that....((HUGS))

Star--maybe I asked this already, I don't remember...but where in Florida are you going? My son and I are going the first part of March (for about 9 nine days)...we go to Fort Myers. My dad emailed last week and said he bought a boat (crazy???) and it just arrived, so that should be pretty fun....and of course, scary!!! :H I can only assume he took some kind of boating lessons...probably not the same as jumping into the boat at the lake!! Have fun and enjoy your trip!!

Dill--do you have a long weekend this weekend? I would think this would be a holiday for most schools??? Enjoy...and hope you aren't spending it ill.:l

Rustop--I'm so out of the loop...what was The Grey about?? I only get to see rated G and sometimes PG movies...LOL!!! Mu son and I went to The Journey which was in 3D...that was so cool!!! I'd never been to a 3D movie before...it was really neat!! The actual movie wasn't too bad either!! I actially jumped a couple times when things jumped out at you!:H

Pap3=Hope you get the answers you are looking for with your dog. Seemed like she knew what she was talking about...although her place would have kinda grossed me out a bit, I think! LOL!! I agree..if you know you are having a client come over...make sure you clean up the "stuff" on the floor.

Rusty--How's your weekend? Hang' at home? So......did you meet any hot, single fireman at your "thank you" party??? Heck, if you could have given me a couple days notice...road trip!! LOL!! Ah...I sometimes wish I were young again...I would have sooo done something like that!!! LOL!!

Lav--Enjoy your Sunday..I have a feeling something is bound to come your way!!

I better go get some laundry started and some cleaning done....fun, fun! I may even see a trip to Walmart in my future....noooooooo!!!
      Have a Super Sunday!!

Free and Fit - Week 3

          Good morning to all...

SD, I too am going to Fort Myers and my Dad bought a boat, with no lessons, just out on the high seas. I am worried about his safety, but he never listens and has made it to almost 80 years old. I hope I get nice weather, I need it. I woke up today andfelt depressed and cold, and it was about 18degrees, so no wonder I was freezing. I also am not fond of Mondays. Oh, well. I tried out a new coffee, with cinnamon and spices, and between the caffeine and the taste, my mood is improving.

My weekend was good, lots done, lots of rest, some reading, and two walks, indoors. Lent is on the way and I want to give up chocolate for the six weeks. I also have to figure out a positive activity, any ideas? Boy, this time of year is tough.

Chill, hope you were able to rest and regroup. Thinking of you.

Rustop, thanks for the greetings, have a wonderful week, too.

To all, greetings on this Monday.

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

            ~Buddha

That one is for you, Sped! Your comment about being "good to yourself" being "the most important thing" couldn't be more true. Of course it resonated with me right now because I am reading Buddha's Brain. The book talks about how so many of us are harder on ourselves than we would be on anyone else and that is simply not good for us.

Kaslo of the Frozen Snow, what is a redpoll? I loved your images and almost felt the coolness of the snow myself.

LBH, the Chopra challenge starts today! I'll be with you in the Universe today.:l

SD, "Ah...I sometimes wish I were young again..." Oh how you made me chuckle with that comment. :HYou ARE young!

Star, I admire you giving up chocolate for Lent. I can't even begin to take that on at this point. I believe I'll keep my focus on alcohol! In that regard, Sooty once gave me the idea to put away the money I would have spent each day on wine and save up to buy a treat for myself. It has been very motivating. It's amazing how it adds up day after day. I was thinking, you might do the same and then give your money to a charity as the positive activity for Lent? There are so many needs right now. Maybe you could donate to a food pantry? Find a family through your church that is struggling and simply donate anonymously to them?

Sorry I have been absent these last couple of days. It has been busy here. My son is separating from his wife and is getting himself set up in an apartment. I am actually glad about it. The marriage is a wreck and his wife is a destructive force. It will be far better for the children if they part and there is a chance for more peace in their world. He is only moving a short distance away and has every intention of being fully present in their lives. Anyway, he hasn't got a dime to spend on furnishings so we have been gathering up items donated by various friends. I'm so gratified by the generosity being shown to us/him. It's humbling.

Sooty, Lav, Papmom, Dew, Rustop, Rusty, Cass, and anyone I might have missed, peace, strength and love to you all.
            Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

              Good late morning Fit Ones

Super sluggish start to my day BUT I'm here now. Enjoying some sunshine & relatively mild temps so no complaints here.

Dill, I hope things settle down soon for your son. Wish we were closer, I have so many household things, furniture, etc I could give him.

I have no plans to give up chocolate any time soon. I swear my handful of dark chocolate M&Ms I treat myself to in the evenings helps keep me sane :H

Greetings to Star, Rustop, SD, LBH, Shelley, Rusty & everyone stopping in today
              Have a great AF Monday!

Free and Fit - Week 3

Good morning everyone, THANK YOU to everyone for all the kind, welcoming comments. Especially re photographics, its a passion of mine.

I dont know how far I can go with photos, here. Most of my photographs are of odd things that catch my eye. Just this morning a "friend" on my facebook page took issue with my comments about some cows in his photo. I was blithe, I admit it. I got to thinking about cows. I looked for my most recent pix... of a cow in Chinz and Co. This was done in order to distance myself from the progression of obsessing on his dislike of my comment, and therefore me, that is so common in people with AL problems, we obsess SO easily on things. We take EVERYTHING personally.

Now THIS particular cow has a price tag of some 3 thousand dollars (with tax), and is small compared to a real cow, and not edible or productive... you could buy a real cow for less, and yet this one has a lot of positive features. It doesnt go out there and trash the native vegetation, or smell bad, or need incessantly to be fed, watered, fenced, etc. It doesnt kick, or bite, or step on your bare feet. Can anyone here tell I grew UP with cows, as my constant companions, come from a long line of wranglers and punchers, and I also named my company for a plant that is poisonous to them?

Everyone have a fine week. Ima go downstairs and revise my work.

Free and Fit - Week 3

Good Monday Morning/Afternoon to My AF Friends Here!

Studying away here on this beautiful sunny late morning in Wisconsin. I am here, happy, unhung....just back from Physical Therapy where I got my neck stretched in traction. :H

Kaslo-you are our wonderful and talented photographer so I wondered if you do cartoons, too? You could do a line drawing of me with my head in traction, and my neck 2 feet long and my eyes popping out...with my terrorist (I mean therapist ) asking me...."Does that feel like a good stretch, Rusty?" :H I love your cow....it's beautiful and regal. I've never been to Chinz and Company but will look it up online. Ah, FB. Not my cup of tea. I get many "friend" requests, and I'll tell ya, I'm way more private than that. Am I on it? Yes, only as other people's friends....but I do not have my own page and don't want one...just because of situations like what happened with your "friend's" reaction to your comment on one of his cows. Is this junior high school or primary school here? We digress to putting a comment on someone's wall? I also can't stand to get e-mails that say, "Jane has updated her profile.....Mary has shared photos with John?..." Who gives a shit? Not me. Ok, I'm done venting. BTW, I have always been a wayyyy overly sensitive person here....even before I had AL problems. AL makes us much more impatient and intolerant, for sure. I'm glad you're with us.

Lav-congratulations on the 4 lb. weight loss! :goodjob:

SD-no, I did not snag a fireman, you goofball. What are you talking about with..."when WE were young..." you ARE still young! Hey, you've got lots of dating years left. Are you still thinking of having a baby?

Dill-so sorry about what your son is going through...wish we lived closer....like Lav, I have lots of stuff I could offer him.

Everyone else I didn't mention...big hello and happy AF Monday!

I am still battling Stink Bugs here. Why hasn't anyone figured it out yet? Researchers in my area from the University Of Delaware & Penn State University have been trying to figure out a solution. I am getting sick of removing these little bastards from my house

Thank you Rusty. I saw an interesting comparison....the developer of Facebook as a miner of personal details and recipient of millions of advertizing dollars: AND a hero, versus Julian Assange (sp?) the miner of corportate and national details and recipient of court dates and possible prison terms, and a villian.... I am not crazy about either of those dudes, but it is interesting how we villify one, but not the other.

I like being able to hear from people I care about on Facebook, but I dont like how people can use it as a weapon to lash out at others. Same is true for any e-media.

Lav, I know not what can be done with stink bugs, but there has to be a few nests and just what they like to live in, and if they and the habitiat can be removed...? Class Insecta... NOT my favorite biological group. Dont get me started on mosquitoes for example.

                        Lol!

No one know how to get rid of them Rusty ~ that's the problem.

I have gotten to the point where I just grab them with my bare hands & flush them :H
They apparently showed up in Pennsylvania several years ago - natives of Asia (or some place). I know they found their way here because of all the farms & even my half dozen fruit trees. They make a mess of the appples.....
Speaking of mosquitos - they have been pretty much absent since the stink bugs arrived a couple of years ago, hmmmm.
I just wish I could find out how the stink bugs get in the house. This place was built like a fortress by my brother-in-law (really). Somehow they find their way inside to spend the winter - yuck.

Facebook is pretty stupid but sometimes funny as hell!
I saw a picture posted today by one of my daughter's old high school friends. It was a sign (supposedly hanging in the men's room of a bar) that said:
                          Don't flush your cigarrette butts
It makes them soggy & hard to light

EEYUCK! Stink bugs! Do you burn wood? Could they come in on firewood or something you may be bringing in from outside?

Rusty, I'm picturing you with a giraffe neck! :H I've been through the traction for my neck too. Hang in there with it. It really helps.

Rusty I forgot to sympathize re traction. I once spent 5 months in traction on my back, and its no picnic. I am gathering this is a traction treatment and not a situation where you are in a hosp bed with a traction system in place 24 7. Either way, hope its releasing the compaction. I ended up with serious problems as a result of traction, but by now I am just keeping my head down, and grateful for what ever is thrown my way. I can walk, kayak, ski, swim, and ....write. NOT VERY FAST but I can do it all still. Is Chinz and Co a western Canadian company only? I have no idea. But I love thier stores. My husband, not so much.

Hello dear troops. I have not been here in a week or so and catching up is daunting. Most recently we had another lively house guest, and I just took sweet him and his array of clattering stuff to his plane. It is now so startlingly quiet here, I can hear the tiny dogs breathing and the old bird muttering in her sleep. I look forward, Dill, to starting the new meditation in a while and shall think of you. I like your quirky eye and take on things, Kaslo, and shall think of you also and our whole band of gentle souls who have kicked or are kicking the poop out of that monkey on our backs. Speaking of kicking the annoying, I saw those stink bugs, Lav, when on a visit to my cousin in the New Jersey woods last fall, they were banging relentlessly into the screens on my third floor bedroom windows, they seem to be an unusually determined and resourceful species. So are we, but we are cute and fragrant. Love, Ladybird.
                                may we be well
