    OK, carrot cake gets a nod for a good idea, but.... someone brought carrot cake cupcakes last year. It's jerk chicken thighs (boneless, skinnless chunks so no mess) and asparagus salad. I can't wait to tell you about the food and how much betting money I won. Too bad about the rain forecast though. Waterproof mascara. That is all.

    Some folks are on the fence due to the forecast - dogs with storm phobia & don't want to leave them home. I had one like that so I understand. I'm still going - Gotta do SOMETHING with this food!

      Happy Friday evening, Ablanders!

      Just got back from bringing crusty critters in, 2 dogs and one cat in tow. Had to turn around once I got home 'cause I was missing one dog (the visiting one). Found him still at the barn, blissfully unaware that everyone had left :H Sigh. He's got even less hearing than Shelby, so between the two of them they've got 1/2 working ear.

      Greenarse.. eat, win, and be merry. That is all.

            Love the photographs and reading about everyone's lives.:thanks:

            I spent the day listening to John Underwood speak on the Pure Performance-Life of an Athlete again today. Some of the statistics he used are so frightening. Like now the average age of addiction is 16-22. More people die from alcohol abuse than any other drug combined. (may be kids, my memory is so bad) I like the program, I hope it makes a difference. I talked to #1 son about it a bit this evening. He is just friends with almost anyone--doesn't judge them for what they do. He says he doesn't partake and I have zero evidence to think he does. One thing that LOA asks the kids to do is hold their team mate accountable and I think that will be hard for him--he is not a snitch--very loyal to his friends. I explained to him that the very least he should do is try to convince his friends to make better choices because what they are doing could be dangerous.

            At least we have pretty open communication. I hope he is not bullshitting me or I will be one unhappy mama.

            Our weather is fantabeautifulous! I'm going to finish up my tax stuff, the start spring cleaning and yard work this weekend. The boys are out of school until Friday so I have the list all ready for them! LOL

            Nothing much to add. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend the only way--the sober way!:h

            PS--wondering about Uni and AFM--who else are we missing lately?

              I hear ya on the geriatric, deaf dogs Sunni. Maxie still hears quite well, she just prefers to ignore me for the most part
