    May Flowers - Week 3

Helloooo! Just trying to catch up; I missed a lot there, going back to last week. Thanks for the Photobucket recommendation, PapMom. I'll check it out. My girls were too busy helping with our guests to give me a hand with my avatar, but I'm glad they were here. Mrs. B tries so hard to take care of her parents and siblings that she sometimes gets overwhelmed.

I hope you're on that call back list. Best wishes.

And thanks for the Serenity Prayer suggestion - that's a great idea.

If I can re-visit the question by StarGazerLily and others about evening activities, in the evening, I admit that I love to follow our Phillies (baseball) on TV. Otherwise, we don't care to turn it on, and keep busy with other things until we collapse into bed. Mrs. B is a merchandiser, carrying boxes of handbags, watches, belts and other fashion stuff in department stores. She works hard!

We try to take walks in the neighborhood, and quiet stuff. A little baking or cooking - I enjoy making cookies to take to work, or hummus (it's so easy!). I love a card game called Free Cell. You can play it with loose cards, or on any computer or smart phone. I also enjoy Sudoko and reading - mostly inspiring non-fiction (Mountains Beyond Mountains about Paul Farmer is amazing) , but also fiction by John Grisham, John Irving, and others. I want to start exercising, but hey, one thing at a time. :H

Hi, Janice. You're doing great! Good for you.

Rustop, sorry to hear about losing your JR. It's never easy.

Lav, I hope you've turned the corner on that poison ivy. Ouch! I love the Matilda photos.

Sausage, you come up with some of the best quotes.

LBH, that champagne story is a classic.

And to Fly, Chill, Dill, Blondie, Sunni, SD, Rusty, Cyntree, Jolie, G-Bloke, TDN and anyone I missed, Happy Thursday. A nice stretch of weather here (I sure hope those chickens dried out).

    Cruising toward the weekend...

    Love, B

      May Flowers - Week 3

Hi to all you beautiful flowers!

So sorry I've been MIA for the past week - hubby and I went away for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Had a wonderful time - very relaxing and peaceful - just what we both needed. Does anyone ever dread going back to work after being off because they know it's going to be absolutely crazy? That's my life at work these days. The 4-day break was much needed and helped me reconnect with nature and a blessed feeling of calmness

Papmom - good luck on the job - sounds like you presented yourself in a very self-confident way (even if you weren't feeling it on the inside). I'll be saying a little prayer that you hear good news.

LBH - I'm still laughing at your story! Thanks for sharing that and I'm betting that you'll still be chuckling about it in the weeks/months to come.

Lav and Bouv - are we not just having the best weather? Today was gorgeous and I splurged by taking off a half day to get my hair done. Turning 50 in less than a month and there WILL BE NO GRAYS on this head!

Rustop - I know for me, my daughter turning 18 was a turning point in our relationship - seems like I wasn't as "annoying" and she really seemed to mature overnight!

Rusty - you keep your head held high! You are a beautiful person and don't ever forget it! Hope your trip goes well.

Hi to Sunni, Star, Janice, Beck, Cyn, Blondie, Chill (hope you get some rest), Sooty, Dill - hope I didn't miss anyone!

      Have a great evening everyone!

        May Flowers - Week 3

        Hello May Blossoms!

My goodness... how did we get to week 3 already!? Time sure flies when you're having fun. Or work. Or both. :H

All is well here... I made my annual pilgrimage to the only decent but horridly overpriced nursery on the island. Ouch. Didn't get nearly enough and spent a small fortune. I'm sure I own stocks by now :H

Bouv.. fingers crossed for the surgery. And, I hope that life in general will settle down for you. Congrats on pushing through week one!

Lav.. you are awe inspiring. I'm not sure I could baby sit as much as you do.
LBH.. too funny! Those out of the blue giggles turn to belly laughs are the best, aren't they?
Cyn.. here's to your heart and head getting on the same wave length. You ought to ditch the numbers, though. They screw with stuff every time :H

And now I should go rattle some pots 'n pans or something. The wind has calmed down a bit and I think we'll be burning brush tonight. I'll leave you with May flowers for now:

Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

          Lover the planter Sunni
I think the handful of vitamins & minerals (and of course being healthier, hangover-free, etc) help me keep up with the grandkids, animals, business & everything else that I have to do!
I don't waste a second thinking about returning to my former life :H

Bouv & Jolie, today certainly was picture perfect weather wise. We enjoyed the day by riding up to the Lancaster outlets to do a little shopping
Glad to see you back Jolie - was wondering where you were.

PI update - my arms still look like hell but I'm not itching so that in itself is a big improvement!!!

Have a great night one & all!

            Evening Lovelies!!

Bouv-thanks for the vote of confidence. Your evening activities sound heavenly! I wish I had the time to do some of them!!

Sunni-great pic!! You're doing such a nice job on the landscaping and gardens.

Lav-glad to hear you are feeling better! Nice you had such great weather to hang out with Lily!

Jolie-welcome back. So happy to hear you were able to take a much needed break with Mr. J.

            Rusty-thinking of you!!

Outdid myself today with the evals. Doubled my output and then some. Hope to make a repeat performance tomorrow. All this work and staying late is to ensure a work free long weekend next week!!
Now I must hit the hay. G'nite all!

                    May Flowers - Week 3

You and me, Lav. I was up at 3:30 to drive my wife's sister and her parents to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania for stomach surgery. She was in recovery by 12:30, and I'll pick the parents up after work. SIL will be in the hospital until Tuesday or so.
Mrs. B and I will take care of her 6 year old bundle of energy for most of the weekend. As she falls asleep at the end of a busy day, I want to say, "Ha! We win!" Real mature, I know.

Tomorrow, I'm going with my daughter to pick up her new Honda Civic. Her old car is newer than either of the cars Mrs B. and I drive. How did that happen? Oh, right - two kids in college. :H

Sooty, how is Mr. B? Been thinking about you guys.

Enjoy the Amish market, Lav. Glad the PI is receding. Yes, we are enjoying some glorious weather, Lav and Jolie.

Papmom, nice work on the production; you seem to raise the bar for others.

Hi, Janice. Nice job on 10 days - I'm thinking it's 9 pm in the UK and that you're home free.

                    Love your garden photos, Sunni.

Hi to Beck, Cyn, Sausage, G-Bloke, Dill, Chill, Blondie, LBH, SD, Rusty, Rustop, Star, Fly and everyone who has made these 10 days seem to pass quickly.

                    Love :l,

                    B

Sorry, Sooty. It's Mrs B. and Mr S. Not sure how I made that mistake.

Oh, and by the way, how come no one told me that self-esteem (something I have always struggled with) seems to go way up when you stop drinking? What a nice surprise!

                          Yawn.......
I must be completely NUTZ :H

We changed our plans & ended up taking a hike in Elk Neck State Park, taking the trail to the lighouse overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Jolie knows exactly where I'm talking about - in her BACKYARD :H
It was a beautiful morning for a walk although pushing Lily in the stroller was a bit of a pain. We saw 2 eagles, a blue heron & a bluebird
Maxie was up early with an upset stomach for no particular reason. I have read this is very commom with Swissys. Of course snacking on the occasional baby ground hog probably doesn't help a lot

SD, congrats on making it thru the end of another school year! Have fun with your flowers.

Bouv, enjoy the energy of your 6 year old house guest!
Kids are tons of fun (especially when you can send them home after a couple of days!)
My daughter & almost 15 month old grandaughter were here for two days & have gone home. My 3 1/2 yr old grandson is here now for the night!!!!!! They just keep taking turns & I love the company
Hope your SIL gets better very soon.

Hi Janice & Rustop, hope you had a great day!
Hello to all the MIA ~ yuo know who you are.

Just a quick check in. Bouv, you did get me thinking (thanks). I think my own self esteem improvements early on have been related to the fact that even mild alcohol withdrawal created in me a physiological state of stress, reactivity, and anxiety so that whatever I experienced after a night with a buzz was interpreted as threatening. Those evening drinks ensured that I felt apprehensive, uneasy, uncertain, ?less than? throughout the day because I actually was all of those things physiologically. Since I drank every evening that became the undercurrent of my identity. Each of those things that our sparkly SD has discovered are there for us all if we keep at it. It's just natural. Love to everybody, here, missing, lurking, and just hoping for relief. Ladybird.
                            may we be well

                              Good morning everyone

Well Lav, I have joined you in the Granny world. My daughter got her new puppy
from her boyfriend last night. A minature Jack Russell named Layla. I will take
some photos later if I can slow her down long enough!! I tried last night and she
was all over the place. It's like having a baby again. The Goldie seems ok, she
wants to play but the puppy is about the size of her head so dont know how that
                              will work out.

Need to get some cleaning done. Have a great week-end everyone.
