Hi RE how many meetings do you attend a week? I can only really make two at the moment, I was a bit upset at mine tonight as someone shared they had tried to commit suicide on Wednesday and that is how I lost my dad 18 years ago

Weekly AA Thread - July 9 - 15

One gal shared today that she is sober 30 days. 30 days ago her Dad slipped and fell while drunk and died.

Because of where my work is located I go to a meeting where it is very high income. This one black man....shares that he was coming from outpatient....and was passing this meeting....and never got hang out with "rich white people"....so he came in to check out "rich white people".....and found out they were just as desperate as a "poor black man"....he has been going to that meeting for 3 years now.

This disease leaves us all feeling the same way....desperate and sick.....regardless of race, career or income. And for that WE can all fight this together.

Maur...you may have been put there for a reason. If you shared your heartbreak.....that person may realize what they put their loved ones through. If you did not share....maybe you can next time.
