    af day Saturday 4 Aug

Hi everyone, quck late check in, we went down to the land of satan to kayak buy gas and groceries. Third degree at the border going in, hi how are ye coming back. Its no wonder we are keeping up the rumour that this country of mine is a vast frozen wilderness. Over run by personal water craft and jet boats, watched guy in old glory t shirt drinking beer in his convertable caddy, yeah. Not that Canucks with their sneaking drink are any better.

I stayed out of the copious wine isle. I used to just marvel at all the booze I could get my hands on for so cheap in the states. Dont know how yall stay sober.

Life change well done for being truthful. You are so obviously committed to leaving AL behind. I am sure with better preparation and making sure you are not blind sided like that again you will succeed. Every time you are going to be around AL of any description you have to have some idea of what you are going to do with yourself to prevent a relapse. Bring your own drinks, have a talk with yourself. Prepare your mind. Understand your weakness. Dont go hungry or thirsty, that weakens your resolve. Your subconcious is trying to tell you something.

Well Im by the pool, having a pleasant read of a book by Lucy Worsley called If Walls Could Talk. I had such a nice trip today. Not the greatest paddle, dumped myself in the drink and found out my dry bag actually does work, thank goodness. Also the gun shots were a bit much. But thats north eastern Washington backwoods for yez. They put a special effort into upholding the 2nd Amendment.

      Hey Kaslo,

I have my brother-in-law shooting & my neighbor's son shooting here all the time :H
Makes me crazy but I think I'm kinda getting used to it after 9 years :H
I can walk out to my mailbox on the road & find beer cans tossed out by passing cars/drivers? almost anytime. Not much else to do here in cow country I guess
Glad yuo had a pretty interesting day

      Greetings Sausage & TheSunFlower!

Not sure if storms are on the way or not tonight but I'm unplugging my most important computers & embroidery machines, etc. The electric grid is just bizarre around here. Better safe than sorry!

Have a peaceful night one & all!

Its illegal to discharge a firearm in a public place or within the boundaries of a village or town or city in Canada, and you almost NEVER hear gunfire here. In the fall during hunting season in the back country yes, but never in suburban and seldom in agricultural land. If I was to discharge my shotgun here, there would be a visit from at least two police cars. (I must have a special permit to carry it, and it must be transported with the ammunition in one case and the gun in the other, never loaded. I would not even think of trying to display it in public, It must be completely hidden. We used to hear gunfire all the time in down town Spokane when we visited my daughter. Seattle now as well. We dont care for it that much, I use bear bangers to scare bears off my deck sometimes. Even that causes a big kerfuffle here. None of us care for the amount of gun violence in Vancouver these days.... gangs.

Have you ever thought of moving to a more hospitable, cooler climate? Or do your GKs keep you where you are?

          Kas,
I think I am serving a purpose being here - for now.
There really is no where else for me to go

I have very strong feelings about guns. I never let YB keep his is in the house. His guns were locked up elsewhere. Too damn many guns in the wrong hands in this country, that's for sure
          Philadelphia probably has 4-5 shootings/weekend.
I used to live right outside of Philly.
