          AF day Monday 23 Sept

Good evening (or perhaps good morning) to all.

Good work on 60 days, Mr.G. and CanToo! I am excited about your accomplishments and looking to join you in a little while. I'll never catch up, but no matter, it gives me something to keep working toward.

Hugs, Lilly. I'm so sorry that you had another slip. I'm sending some cyber hugs and hope that you feel back on track soon. I, too, look forward to hearing about your next date.

Ronnie, just reading your post made me feel more upbeat! Keep it up!

What a great poet you are, Mick. A big hello to Satz, Mollyka, KY, Lavande, Shue, and also to anyone I didn't mention by name.

I went to my first AA meeting in a while this morning. I imagine they thought I was out drinking and were very happy to know that I had 6 weeks under my belt. There were some very sad people at the meeting who had gotten into lots of trouble recently. It was a good reminder of where I could end up, even though I haven't been there YET. I also went to the lab to get my liver enzymes checked for my psychiatrist; they were up the last time I had a test. I am hoping they are back to normal by now. Fingers crossed!

Have a good night and tomorrow!

            AF day Monday 23 Sept

Hi all, I've survived the day. And Mick I noticed but didn't want to draw attention to it! Second time for you right?:H I only screwed up the Tuesday/Thursday thing...the double thread starting...etc....

Haven't heard a word from the lawyer. Don't know if the CO-POA was served today or not. Still not answering my phone if it's him. The homework I've been doing is coming up with questions for the deposition. Trying to shrink it down from an encyclopedia to a dictionary. Ended up playing Bridge (my most favorite card game, other than poker) with my Seniors this afternoon and had a really relaxing and enjoyable time. Will finish off the file tonight and send it in.

Lilly you take all the time you need. You know we're here and you know you can always PM us. Just keep in mind we'll be worried about you, so check in now and again ok?
Oh, and don't forget about the "Tail between my legs" thread. We'll all be bugging you on Friday for details of Thursday. I'm glad you asked about the "Army" thread. I was thinking the same thing as you. :l 's for you.

            Ronnie
ditto what YahYah said. Any grade yet?

I've got to run, just wanted to touch base first. Hi to all I missed by name, will see you in the morning.....PPQ

                  AF day Monday 23 Sept

All is good here. I don't read the Army Thread...I may wander around once in awhlle....but, then I find myself.....having to back up ten pages just to determine what anyone is talking about.....and then before I know it....an hour of my life has slipped by

I do feel like if I don't check in its a "high sign" that I am out there somewhere drinking. I am not.

I have decided to move my workouts to the PM.....with the crisp air in the morning....and I am finding that I just don't have the drive to get out of bed and do the workout. New shows are coming out......I can entertain myself and watch TV. God knows that after the last 30+ days....my house is freaking clean. Nothing left to clean....workout

I'll check in from time to time......But, for now....I am sweating it out. I so wish they did not turn the wireless off at work!

Lilly....you will work things out. Rest up....dust off....for me it was a goal of 72 hours. At the end of 72 hours I always felt so much better. Also....the ultimate detox is taking an epsom salt bath. Cleans the toxins out quickly. I don't know why it works, but it does. I had not been eating the best the last week.....and took one of these (first time not trying to detox booze).....and it worked again like magic. Be close to bathroom

epsom salts are a great idea. why they work is because they are composed of magnesium sulphate which is soothing to our nervous system.

Thanks Det....they are soothing to our nervous system......why? I know that you said why....but, they are in water and I am not ingesting them....so I don't understand still....can you shed light on that? And I never understood how taking a bath in them....utterly cleaned out my insides. Maybe I extra soaked yesterday But, they work!

no worries Sun, our bodies absorb as much mag as we need through our skin in the epsom bath. the actual physiology of why it's soothing is beyond me. maybe I'll study that next. Mag is also really healthy for cardio function and most of us don't get enough in our diets so it's one of the few supplements I continue to take. it helps me relax and get to sleep at night also. I take 800mg per day, but go slow at first as you can get the runs if you're not used to it.

                            BTW.... Unhung Mondays rock! yay!

Alcohol strips magnesium from the body,And magnesium is important for muscle and nerve health. It is absorbed through the skin but in an epsom salt bath the level is so high that we overdose and it causes diarrhea. So don't take baths too concentrated cos diarrhea causes more magnesium loss. Stress also cause magnesium loss and alcoholics suffer a double whammy cos they are already depleted then quitting alcohol stresses them.

Epsom salt baths once weekly are beneficial , but not too strong
