Everyone:

I've been thinking about this for quite a while. I think I'm going to step down as "chair" of the Weekly AA Thread. I've been doing it for a long time, & I feel like I should "pass the torch" to someone else. Or, if it's time for the thread to dissolve, then so be it.

When I came into MWO in 2007, I was still drinking & was all over these forums. I got sober in 2009 after a horrendous bottom. That's when the Weekly AA Thread started, & I've pretty much stayed there exclusively, as my time is taken up w/other things, including AA meetings.

MWO was a huge help to me, especially in the beginning when I was in denial about my drinking. I was able to see kindred spirits here, & that really cracked open my denial about myself.

I'm certainly not divorsing myself from MWO. I plan on coming here, reading, & sharing. I just think I need to regroup & let someone else take charge.

I thank you all for being here & taking a part in my recovery. I certainly thank the founders of this site. I probably wouldn't be sober wo/it.

Thank you for "chairing" this thread for as long as you have.

I have only posted a couple of times but have read most of the posts.

I don't feel ready to take the torch but I think the thread will continue even if it takes a little break for now.

Mary thank you for giving of your time and experiences here at MWO. As I have said in the past I am not AA but have learned a lot from reading your tread.
I do know that if I ever felt a threat to my recovery I would head to AA based on what I have read here.

Hi Mary, I am another person who benefitted from your calm, thoughtful and thought provoking AA thread starter messages. While the concepts and rules of AA are not ones I adhere to, you always made sense. I also deeply admire you for your efforts to help others, to lead others, in such a kind and graceful way.

Just want to say Thank You for all your time and in put, it help me a lot x
Am so glad that in 2010 when i stop drinking that i had the AA thread MWO to go to. You and others on the AA thread help me in my recovery in my journey where i could relate to so much.
