I just wanted to say thanks for a great laugh! I admit to being a lurker on this thread, trying to get the AF bit ingrained so I can feel like I can really join in and be a member - and as i am doing that I am reading everywhere and learning, but as we get to year end and I seem to be overwhelmed with meetings around goal setting, years progress etc I read this and loved it! We just had a management meeting with my new boss and he started every agenda item with "well this will be more work, but...." - I was ready to run screaming. This was a perfect Monday put in perspective message!!
Mick;1405893 wrote: As for the team meeting..mmmm I would give that a miss..now that I am no longer part of that..used to hate them..especially at Senior Manager level..what we have achieved, last action plans etc..at the end in most cases , change the dates on the meetings and the minutes would cover all the meetings.

Used to hate those away days too..go away for 2 days...some consultancy being vastly overpaid..would "analyse" the management team using Myers Briggs or Belbin..bloddy good licence to print money..then Day 2 after a nightful of ale all trying to survive and be intelligent with a mouth like the Sahara and a head banging like mad..smelling of mints thinking your doing a great job of kidding everyone you are fresh as a daisy.. trouble is everyone one was the same!!Cant wait to jump in the car and do one!...but I digress..a grand way to spend public funding!!

What you do Mick is be creative. When is the anniversary of you meeting? On THAT day you overwhelm her with the most amazing surprise .....then tell her that THIS is the most important day, the day she changed your life forever!!!!!

BINGO......you are godlike and she will feel stink for making such a fuss about a piece of paper :H

                          thanks for the coffee Mick!

                          hooray for YAH! wooooo!

Ronnie, good to see you back mate

Shue, last night's dinner was a wilted spinach/chicken salad with additional veggies in the mix. the hot dressing was a browned butter/caper/garlic/lemon/caramelized onion and it was yummo!

managed to avoid a trip on the road this week so far I get to stay home. weeeee!

yikes, I just got a memory/taste in my mouth of alcohol. weird. made me shudder. my brain must be sorting things out. at any rate no cravings happy to say.

be well everyone! off to chop garlic for dinner

Congrats to YAH! 3 months is awesome!

Mick....you forgot your anniversary At least she gave you a card early to remind you. Just a bit of one on one time.....is all a gal really needs....and not the kind you are thinking of

A good cold.....means you know you are in it for the long haul. A bad one means you want to die.....but, know it will be over quickly. I am in for the long haul on this one.

I went to work....got another award for performance.....and won a significant gift card to boot! Pissed off co-workers who got to sit next to me

Nobody does my job when I am away. So missing days.....means making up for much missed work.

I saw what you said.....but, I work for a really great company. It is by far the best I have ever worked for. But, I have worked for companies like you described.

Det....I caved....I did not pack a lunch and ended up eating pizza! But, I only ate one slice and came home to a great dinner. I am curling up with my huge 4 Hour Body book.....at first it seemed a bit overwhelming.....but, my co-worker said you read it in increments....and not the whole book applies to you. I now wish I got it on my kindle....and still may And I do have the "Paleo Solution"....just have not cracked it open.

Changes do take time. It took time for my body to stop craving AL on a daily basis.....why not the same with complex carbs? Except for the pizza today....I am not caving!

Everyone have a great day and night....and quite frankly a little jealous of all you guys on the otherside of the world.....getting Summer. Although I do enjoy the winter months....now that I live somewhere that does not bury me under 4 feet of snow
