Bon soir - its evening here in NZ. Its 9pm - am back at the hotel room. Didn't have the energy or desire to go out to dinner tonight (am still at my conference and have been awake since 5am). TDN - you wake up early too don't you? Its easier to get up here because its summer.
Ahh but I did go shopping!!!!

Kuya - I agree with you about the pointlessness of comparing units etc. The impact of alcohol on the body depends on a heap of variables.
Thanks Porquoi for the congrats. I know there will be more and more challenges - so being ever vigilent. I can't drink again - its not a question of moderation for me.
Shelby - don't dread the teenage years with your daughter. It is hard and my girl is 14 (nearly 15) and I suspect the trials are yet to come. But we still have great times together and share a lot. I know she is very happy about me being sober and she knows its not been easy - and that it takes lots of work. I recall her saying some time this year 'Mum, I don't want you to die'.
this will make you guys laugh. I am to be responsible for the 'toasts' at the conference dinner tomorrow. I will make sure I have my own carafe of tap water. Anyone else here find AF drinks at functions boring??? Especially when you can't order something a bit more fancy and AF.

Hi TT, glad you are having an OK trip. Doing toasts.....how ironic

Just got back from my daughter's piano concert, so sweet all the kids playing their Christmas pieces. BUT UG now full of sugar cos it was a bring dessert evening. I have quit sugar and now I feel so flat and sickly, no wonder my last quit was doomed! Give me a rare steak anytime!

Still shite at work....depressing, but nowt I can do really.

You have said it in your post..accepted that I cannot drink again...once you do that things do get easier..well for me they did ..forget all the rest of the stuff..just one only drink 3 days a week..thatll soon turn into everyday with a "y" in it

Good morning, all.

Quick post, as I didn't get up until 6:20, and have to make my trifle before work, so it can sit all day in the fridge. Had a minor fiasco with the red velevet madeleines last night. I forgot to mix in the dry ingredients and didn't notice until the pans were ready to come out of the oven!!!! Maybe all that AL has affected my brain! But--usually I would have a huge meltdown over this, but instead, I just laughed. And started over and got them done. Then I made the banoffee pie that somebody on another thread wrote about, and that as so easy. BUT--the graham crust uses way too much butter and sugar, and of course I had to taste it this a.m. and am like you, KY--sugar coma after the tasting last night and this a.m. My slight a.m. headache seems worse today--go figure:H

Did not hear back from the probation officer, and I am really unhappy today. I will call yet again, and will simply ask if I need to speak with her supervisor. I don't want to push too hard, because she screwed things up and didn't reveal my NH DUI, which could make more trouble. But after months of consistently filling out a very detailed report, ahs eleft me a message on July 30 to say that I needed to appear in court (2 1/2 hrs away) the next day or a warrant for my arrest could be issued, as I would be in contempt of court!!! I had to appear on August 1, and evn go before the judge, and they extended my probation for 6 months. I had not finished the counseling I was supposed to do, which I had honestly misunderstood, and the PO admitted that she never reads the reports, as she is too busy!!!! Hoinestly, she looks and speaks and acts like one of her parolees, IMO, and is incompetent, to say the least. I am no thinking I won't be getting my license back on time. Okay, rant is over!

I hope you all have a great AF day! Party tonight, and I'll have my diet sparkling cranberry with a wedge of lime , which looks festive. The others will have their one or to drinks, and I'll be in awe over that!

Kuya, my kids were in band & orchestra when they were in school. I loved their concerts, very heart warming

Guzzling that coffee this morning Mick, thanks! No kids on my schedule today but that doesn't mean much. Plans change pretty quickly around here.

TDN, I sure hope you get things sorted today! Please stay calm & centered, it help's our aging brains. I use the guided meditations to help out in that department. Even just spending 10 minutes focusing on your breathing really calms me down

PQ, I heard on the news last night that 90 some % of Canada has snow on the ground
Maybe you should think about moving a little South???
