Just lost my whole long post about this strange and disturbing day, and will jsut summarize. Found out that the wife of the guy whom I called the other day to ask about the breathalyzer for my car called my former colleague and friend (drinking buddy, I guess) and said she kne I'd called him to arrange a meeting between the friend and him:upset: She thinks the two of them are having or have had an affair, which is not my business. Guess she checks his cell phone. This is a woman I have known for a long time--even had the son in school when I taught here. Called her and left a message while at the flower shop with my friend who owns the shop listening in. She had heard rumors from the woman over the summer, too.

And after I'd been home awhile, the guy whose wife posted on FB the other day that she was filing for divorce Told a hol different version of the story she told when she came to the shop the other day. I went to another room, and he as here oer an hour. Wife claims he is an alcoholic.

Anyway, I am determined to stay AF. AL has caused problems for all of us and it will continue to do so unless we stay AF.

Just had to write this out to try to make sense of it.

                Hi again,

Sunday morning and sitting in bed with a coffee and feeling great after a good night's sleep.

Mick I think how one describes oneself changes over time. Also for me I prefer to continue to use the word alcoholic to describe how alcohol affects me.......it is not a definition of WHO I am. In that respect I will ALWAYS be an alcoholic. If I ever forget that or allow the impact of that word to soften I may drink.

I used to have a problem with alcohol.....I have COMPLETELY recovered from that.

TDN.... This problem is going to be sorted soon and, in a sense, the freedom you will regain will be a double reward for being sober.

CatB ..... I hope your fears are unfounded but sober you will be fine. You are such a together person IMO :h
Keep meaning to ask tho.......why am I the bouncer ?

Thanks SL. It's good to know that you all understand and I understand being without heat. Sending you warm thoughts. I hope you get heat soon, it's miserable without.

                        Hi guys,

I love the name "aw crap." Sounds good to me. But we still come here too, whether strong or fragile, right? I want everyone to know and (feel) that I'm here for them whatever their state may be.

PPQ, thank you for all the inspirational images and translations. I found my printout of the peeled orange in my brierfcase during my trip yesterday. It brought a huge smile to my face, and I showed it to my colleague who chuckled too. Now, what does AGM mean (from your post to me)?

Kuya, you are the bouncer because you tell it like it is, sniff out insincerity towards ourselves or others and bring the hammer down. I think of a bouncer as the person who keeps everyone in line. It's a compliment!

It was a beautiful day here, and I went for a hike on a grassy, muddy ridge. It made me wonder if it's like Scotland, that wee spot of land.

Nurdl, are you feeling better? Hopefully no two bad days in a row.

Cantoo, what wonderful adventure did you have today?

Det, I'm making ribeye with sauteed garlic and mushrooms, smoked paprika roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli for dinner. OY, I'm hungry.

Oh, SL, your heater problems are crazy! Do you at least have a fire place? Have you bought/borrowed ceramic space heaters? They work really well.

                            Hey folk,

Nurdl, what's going on with you? I admit, I'm a bit confused. Is there anything I/we can help with?

TDN, you just keep your focus, OK? Your goal of getting your driving privelege restored is just days away.

I'm going to search Rosetta Stone for that course PQ

SL, I've had older houses with older heating systems & found that having a contract with the oil or gas company you use to be a worthwhile investment. Every time the old sucker broke down someone would come right out to get it going again. I had forgotten until just now that the heating system broke down one year on Thnaksgiving day. We didn't even notice until the next morning because the house was fairly warm with the cooking & baking going on & a ton of people filling up the place. I hope you get your system sorted out soon.

Well, I got a good bit done around the homstead today so I'm happy
                            Wishing everyone a good night.
