      December Determination ~ Week 3

Merry Christmas to all...working on waking up with a cup of Christmas blend coffee, a gift from my daughter. This coffee is good and strong.

Chill, sounds like a perfect day, just the kind you like. I know what you mean about the different holiday food, but we all like to indulge once in a while. You amaze me with your courage and willingness to experience life on your terms.

Lav, love the creative Christmas train cake, what an original idea! Sounds like a fun Christmas Eve, now relaxation could be in the picture for you today.

Rustop, glad you could grab a quiet moment to yourself and post.

To all, have a lovely Christmas Day!

        December Determination ~ Week 3

        Merry Christmas morning everyone!
8 am here, enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee. We did have a light coating of snow last evening which thrilled the young ones, even Matilda

This was in my email this morning, hard to read....

Twas 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38 when 20 beautiful children
stormed through heaven's gate. Their smiles were contagious, their
laughter filled the air. They could hardly believe all the beauty they
saw there. They were filled with such joy; they didn't know what to
say. They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day. Where
are we? asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse. This is heaven
declared a small boy. We're spending Christmas at God's house. When what
to their wondering eyes did appear but Jesus their savior the children
gathered near. He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the
same. Then He opened His arms and He called them by name. And in that
moment was joy, that only heaven can bring Those children all flew into
the arms of their King and as they lingered in the warmth of His
embrace, one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face. And as if He
could read all the questions she had He gently whispered to he, "I'll
take care of mom and dad."Then He looked down on earth, the world far
below He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe, the He closed His
eyes and He outstretched His hand, "Let My power and presence re-enter
this land! "May this country be delivered from the hands of fools" I'm
taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools! "Then He and the
children stood up without a sound."Come now my children let me show you
around. "Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran. All
displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can. And I heard Him
proclaim as He walked out of sight,'in the midst of the darkness "I AM
        STILL THE LIGHT

        Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas!

          December Determination ~ Week 3

Merry Christmas to all, and a big CONGRATULATIONS to you Papmom! You so deserve this new job!
Lav, thanks for sharing your photos. I really enjoyed them. And I loved the message in your post.
Chill, you are most certainly not alone. We are all with you. Enjoy the quiet and peace.
Cyn, what a fantastical dream! I don?t think I?ve ever had the like. My dreams are usually fraught with tension.
          Hippyman, :welcome:

We?re having lots of family in today and so I?m busy preparing food. The weekend was filled with baking and shopping. We only just put our tree up! The lights are on it but now I need to decorate. We?re having a late start because we don?t get to celebrate Christmas with my daughter until she and hb and baby can get here on the 5th of January.

Star, , Rusty, Rustop, LBH, Kas, TDN, nurdl, Turn, Mario, everyone, enjoy the peace of Christmas in your hearts. May we all do what we can today and every day to channel Christ's peace. The world needs it now more than ever.
          Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

            Merry Christmas!

            Welcome Hippyman!

            Chill-sounds lovely!

            Thanks Dill!

Woke up to a light snow. Just a covering and hopefully won't be too much more.

I'd like to ask all of you for prayers for my dear bro. He's been having tummy problems since before Thanksgiving and has had every sort of test imaginable. He had his gall bladder out last year or the year before? It all runs together. Last nite while celebrating Christmas eve with friends he had an attack of some sort and ended up in the ER with a temp of 102. They send him home with no diagnosis and with pain meds. He may still be asleep. My SIL had to play Santa by herself. Whether or not they can join us today is up in the air. We are all willing to go out there and take care of everything but it's his call. Hopefully he will wake up feeling much better. He has an endoscopy scheduled for Friday.
He actually had a scheduled CAT scan yesterday morning but results won't be available for a while. I'm very worried about him. I want to see him today but no it's got to be on his terms.

I am going to go and wrap gifts now and try to enjoy some christmas music.

            I'll check in later.

            Love,
            Papmom

Lav - that really made me cry, I dream of it really being like that and I guess one day we will all find out.

Papmom - healing thoughs for your Brother :l

Well I watched It's A Wonderful Life and have had a few walks dodging the showers. My Christmas dinner was vegetable risotto followed by banoffee pie and there is still plenty left for later.

I think that's what we know as banana cream pie Papmom but with the addition of toffee.
Sounds good but the dairy would put me out of commission for the rest of the day :H
Glad your brother is feeling better & can enjoy Christmas. Wonder if he's dealing with colitis since you mentioned he had a fever

YB showed up & cooked a late breakfast for us - that was nice!
Now he's out in his former 'man room' trying to configure my new computer with my embroidery software so I can actually use it. Keep your fingers crossed

Fair guess Lav. I'm thinking IBD, Colitis, Chron's or even Celiac disease. Of course I don't know what his actual symptoms have been all these months so I'm just praying one of the docs uses his very intensive and expensive medical education and figures this freaking thing out!
How nice of YB! Hope he's successful with the new PC.

Hmmm, banana cream pie with toffee. Interesting!!

Papmom, so glad your brother is doing better!

Chill, your day sounds wonderful! I wish I had time for a walk with dear Tessa. She finally seems to be adopting us though, which makes me feel happy. You know, we get the dog from the shelter and we get a version of their story, but we don't really know what the dog went thru before coming to us. We watch them and wonder why they do what they do. I worried for a while that Tessa might not assimilate well with us. But today, Christmas Day, she was wonderful with all the guests and seemed to understand that they were family, and "OK". This is a big break thru for her.

Lav, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I actually believe he can do it...

                          December Determination ~ Week 3

                          Good morning, everyone.

I read this thread most days, and need to start posting. I usually post on daily AF and also Anyone Up For 30 AF Days.

PapMom, glad you had a good day and brother was feeling better. I sure hope the docs come up with a diagnosis soon. I'm sure everyone was thrilled for your new job! Something so positive to start off the new year! And happy to hear you won't have to do both weekend days with the second job. That is a fun job, but can be tiring.

Seems like many here have pets, and adopted dogs. We lost one of ours in November, and he was the only non-rescue, but still have two. One is 15 1/2 and one is about ten or so. His story is unknown, but we adopted him when I was volunteering with a rescue group, and only after I had boarded him for six weeks, then a foster home for six weeks. He has been a challenge, but is really loving and sweet. Can't tell you how many times I've contacted pet communicators about him

Had a nice day with our friends yesterday. We don't see them enough, and the woman is leaving for four months in FL next week. Hubby has a business to run in the southern part of the state, so only goes for a week or so. We had sparkling sugar free blood orange drinks, and we buy that a lot. It's colorful and kind of festive. Wasn't even tempted by the small bottle of red wine I needed to buy for one of the dishes.

Today I will have to look for an attorney for help with the RMV in the neighboring state where I got my first DUI in May of 2011. Went through all the horrors with the court, finally got signed off on the papers there last week, then went to the RMV, paid a $1000 (??!!) fine, they didn't "need" to see my court papers, and then received two letters within a couple of days, each saying my privilege to drive there would be suspended on Jan 17, then March 17, but it looked like I could at least deal with the requirements. Monday had yet another letter dated the same day but says they are revoking my license for another two years. I am praying an attorney can help me, but with the added horror of the DUI in my state a year ago, it may be hard or impossible. Thought this would be ending soon, so am especially sad over it. It's where AL took me. I am praying over this.

Supposed to get our first major snow storm tonight into tomorrow--a foot or more:upset: Not happy about that. Won't be able to work at the flower shop tomorrow, so will go in on Friday. May get just one paid day per week through January. Not sure about the part time work I was doing from home.

Thanks for letting me be a part of the group, and wishing everybody a great AF day!

                            Good Morning Guys

TDN - :welcome: Lovely to see you here.
I really hope you get your legal problems sorted as soon as possible, it sounds like a bureaucratic nightmare.

Lav - YB does have a very sweet side

Papmom - What a lovely way to make your announcement and such a perfect gift to yourself.

Dill - It took a very long time to exercise Elle's demons, she was about 6-9 months when I rescued her and was a quivering wreck after God only knows what abuse. I have always felt from her incredible gratitude and it makes her even more special.

Im very sad today and the tears wont stop coming. My dear friend in Portugal left our world last night after such a short but violent battle with cancer. Aged 41 with two small Children.

Chill, I am actually relieved to hear that your friend did not have to suffer long. Know that she is at peace now & try to focus on the family she left behind. Send them some of your positive light :l

Papmom, glad you had a good day with your family. They should be quite proud of you for so many reasons

I wiggled out of a day watching grandsons because I really need to get back to work myself. I will check in later.

A ton of rain is predicted here today, better than snow I suppose!
Greetings to everyone & wishes for a terrific AF Wednesday!
