Thanks guys for all your supportive words and advice - I am also fortunate that I have the best GP in the world who will pursue all avenues - plus I am booze free - so that eliminates poison numero uno.
+ve aspect - when I had the news (and it was of the shock value kind - text, urgent phone call to me) I did not once think of drinking AL. In the past I would have though f..k it, what have i got to loose plus AL would have been my sedative. Not this time!!! Not a chance for the sneaky juice to get a look in. This lady's liver is now a temple!
Also daughter gave me lots of hugs and concerned looks (even before I told her she could see my face) and when G. came home he went straight to the internet to do more research (while I cooked his dinner haha!).
am back on the milk thistle - was doing that but read some research that it is not always good for the liver - so stopped.
Thats enough of me and my organ....
Thanks Mick for your wonderful post yesterday - you really care about us don't you? Hugs hugs hugs.
Lavande - your wisdom and long term experience at being AB is really very helpful. Yep, I agree about the whole picture thing - when it comes to recovery - we just need to fine-tune it to suit our minds, bodies, cultures, environment etc. and where we are at in our recovery.
So welcome Mein Sonnenschein - you may also find it useful to look at the Newbies nest - as there are some real 'old timers' caring for those starting out on recovery there. I found that really helpful at first - also posted on a few other sites - and then found this thread.
Hi there, Hi once- how did the 'happy hour' go. I tend to 'show my face' at such things -( I have to as I am the boss) and then politely slip away.
SF - hugs. Am with you and TDN on the anxiety front - medication can really help as long as its the right one, plus diet plus no booze plus having someone to talk it through with --
Better dash off now, too much to do and I have not even had breakfast - just some tea.
I will leave Mick to supply the jokes later!
