    January Generosity Week 4

    Good morning...

Lav, I too loved the pictureof your grandson, so cute! Trying to please YB and make him happy didn't work and you started drinking and proceeded to drink, and he still wasn't happy. I think sometimes women are implicity taught that we are not only to have a man, but it is our job to keep him happy! I say, now that I am older, we are all responsible for our own happiness. Good for you that you are able to focus on yourself and your grandkids.

Rustop, you are busy as usual, and wishing for spring like me. I want spring!!!

LBH, don't you love when you get things done, then have some time to just relax?

I have a super busy day ahead of me, so off I go. Friday is the first day of February, so on with some names. fantastic, fabulous, freaky, freezing, filling, sorry to early in the day. Help me.

Decided its time to jump back in and join you all.

Thank you for all your support and kind words, you really are the best :l

All is well in Chillworld and outside intrusions appear to have taken their negativity elsewhere, I will say no more.
      LETS MOVE ON!

Star I like Fabulous February cause we all really are quite fabulous

        Good morning!

Glad to "see" you, Chill, and happy to know things have calmed down for you! That's great!

Glad to hear from you, too, Rustops. You sure are busy!

Star, like your February suggestions. Any one of them would work for me.

Lav, LOVE that pic What a cute kid he is. Amazing how simple things can make children so happy. And you, too, Lav

It will reach the high 40's to low 50's here today, but it is already dreary. But it was so nice to step outside yesterday and feel almost warm! Anything above 20 feels balmy now.

Will go to exercise class later this a.m. then back to work from home, unless I am needed at the flower shop. Am having dinner with a friend tonight, and am looking forward to it.

Have a wonderful AF day, friends!

          Good morning kids!

Nice to see you Rustop & Chill
Busy is a good thing Rustop, helps us stay out of the mental darkness I think!
Chill, glad you are back here as well.

Heavy fog here this morning but temps are supposed to reach 65 degrees today - woo hoo!
Although the price to pay for that is heavy rain tonight, possibly even thunder storms
          Odd, odd weather these days.

Greetings Star, TDN & everyone yet to come today!

Star, I now firmly believe that happiness is a choice that we make. I consciously choose to be happy & I make it happen by choosing to eat well, exercising, meditating & living mindfully. I can depress myself almost instantly by ruminating around in the dark places of my mind. Turning the lights on in there keeps the negativity at bay. That's the biggie - staying positive

February names? I have no idea......will have to think about that!

OK, time to go to Curves! Have a terrific AF Hump Day everyone!
          Lav

PS: 'Radical Forgiveness' by Colin Tipping should be on everyone's book shelf.
I found it hugely helpful in learning to forgive myself for everything.

            January Generosity Week 4

Good morning from a chilly UK
It's about 40o and although the snow has all gone the high winds are making it feel even colder.

I have been working on editing scripts for the Happiness Academy and although I would love to work on the HA full time it's just not going to pay enough to meet my rent so I have been busy applying for other jobs. Today I have an interview with an agency for a temporary 3 month position with a local insurance company which would be great to get my foot in the door of.

Papmom how's your work week progressing, sounds like big changes for you.

Lav - I have Radical Forgiveness in audio and listened to it again recently. I always laugh when I remember 1st buying it and saying I would apply it to my ex, Greeneyes suggested if it didn't work, I use the CDs to throw at him instead! :H

Good morning all on this very last day of January

Sunny but very windy & cold here!

Chill, I swear the only reason YB is still alive & walking the planet is because of that book. I very well could have commited murder when he ran out of here, honestly. I needed something to help change my thinking & Radical Forgiveness was a good start. He's damn lucky Greenie suggested that book to me :H
Good luck with the job search. Temp jobs can sometimes turn into permanent positions

I have nothing special on my schedule today so after a little bit of work I have free time. Not sure if I will create something wonderful in the kitchen or take a nap :H

Have a great day one & all!

                Good morning to all....

Hey Lav, enjoy the warmth while you can. The cold has hit with several inches of snow. Love waking up to that!!! I agree that happiness is a choice...positive attitude and positive behaviors make the difference for me.

Chill, great to have you back. The job search continues for you. Hope you land something you can accept soon.

TDN, keeping busy and going out with friends, AF, sounds fun.

To all, have a great day.

                  January Generosity Week 4

Good Morning on the last day of January already. I remember thinking a couple of years back that February would be a good month to be AF as it is SHORT:H. While I still like looking at abstinence month to month, it is with pleasure not fear. Any February name is fine with me, perhaps something with "Friends" or "Friendship" in it as these cold days can feel very isolating. I am really enjoying my second eight week class of Tai Chi Chih, much easier and more natural the second time around. My first class had only three students but this one has eleven, most on their first time around, and it has been particularly interesting to see all of us get out of the rush hour scatter and craziness of our heads at the beginning of a class and into our quiet feet by the end. We are much nicer with our cars in the parking lot on the way out. Glad you are back Chill and Rustop. I hope Sooty is not far. I have a good day ahead with routine errands and tasks and a bit off my winter "to-do" list; I looked at a seed catalogue yesterday and nearly cried with remembering that there is so much to look forward to. Love, Ladybird.
                  may we be well

Hi everyone. I am a bit gobsmacked. Sorry. Just got a personal message of thanks for making sense. Responded with an explanation of why i think people fail in the first couple of years... and got told to go away. Very rudely. I have to tell you it hurt. I dont think I can take any more ex alcoholic hysteria and drama. And downright unpleasantness. So if I post, I will be posting here.

Kas I'm so sorry that a small minded individual has upset you, how very rude. Ignore them my dear.

LBH Tai chi is a very interesting pastime. I did it many years ago, the teacher was an absolute power house of energy, it radiated from him. I was in a difficult place at the time and couldn't really commit myself to regular practice, perhaps I will look at it again, but I have been fancying yoga as I'm getting very stiff and creaky.

Chill I'm so glad to see you back :l

To everyone else a cheerful wave. I have been very busy and this weekend am to be invaded by my daughters' university pals, so if I don't call in it's because i'm knee deep in catering and taxi duty!

Keep safe gang. I like fabulous too - for the same reason as Chill :l

                        January Generosity Week 4

Hello to all on this last day of January. It was great to read all and catch up. I have drifted away for a day or two for no particular reason, just life getting too busy I guess.

Kas, I too have had some bad experiences on other threads in the past. I truly think there are some out there that just delight in "mean"ness and in riling people. I almost quit posting at one point. But, I didn't want them to "win" so to speak, by running me off. So, I'm still here, but I'm more careful about posting.

LBH, the calming affect of your Tai Chi class sounds lovely. I used to do an exercise class using one of those large balls. By the end of that work out I was always so calm and centered. It was a wonderful feeling.

                        Chill, glad you're back!

Lav, Star, TDN, Sooty, Pmom, Rusty, Rustop, everyone, Keep calm and carry on!
                        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                          Good evening friends,

I've been chatting with Kaslo by PM today. I'm afraid she's no longer going to be posting on MWO. I hope maybe someday I can change her mind
Some MWO members have a long history of lashing out at members who have found AF success, sometimes they even post while they are drinking. They cannot accept constructive advice meant to help them find their way out as well, it's a shame really.
We can't make someone else want to change. Frankly, I don't know why some people even bother to post on MWO when they have no real intention of ever changing their ways.

Star, LBH, sooty & Dill - good to see you girls as always

                            Fabulous and Friendly AF February?

                            Hi Everyone,

I am almost home now, narrowly escaping the tornado that hit in Kentucky. I have been thinking of February names and love LBH's idea of incorporating friendship into our February name.

LBH- You speak of your love of tai chi and swimming with such verve that your joy and tranquility peeks through the airwaves and I can envision you meditating in class and doing a perfect back crawl a la Esther Williams. :-)

                            Chill-welcome back!

Dill- I stopped at McD's in Ky on Monday because I loved their coffee.. Why they switched suppliers I don't know, but the coffee did NOT taste the same. Disappointing!

I am typing this post on my IPhone but will write more later. Happy AF February's Eve.

Sorry you got blindsided Kas. It is so hard to know how written words will come across, finding the underlying motivation in what is said to us is hard under the best of circumstances. Add fearful emotion and it just doesn't work sometimes. I know that I rarely read other threads any more as I get really upset when communication problems escalate; I am so afraid people will give up. I never want to experience here an abusive PM or even those things that people call "tough love". My personal childhood doesn't support tough love, I don't feel the love part, I don't have the ego strength for the tough part, so I appreciate just quietly getting by and meeting my personal Af goals which are not necessarily everybody elses. Stick around here, Kas, we won't freak out (usually). Having a nice night personally, good food, quiet, a Doc Martin or two. Happy February tomorrow! Swimming with Rusty in my dreams. Love, Ladybird.
                              may we be well

Good evening, all--and goodbye to January!!

Well, I went to a step aerobics class and I made it through! I hadn't been in over a year and a half. I used to go at least twice a week, mixed in with Zumba and Jazzercise. There were thrre people from the original class, and several others whom I recognized. At least my brain isn't completely bad, as I rememebered most of the patterns and kept up pretty well. Worst part was the ab work and push ups!! This class gives a total body workout and I always found it to be the best cardio, too. Luckily I was by a window and a fan:H We use weights, and that was good. I am sure that I will have difficulty walking tomorrow, but I feel much more confident now. Will go back next week and hope to do Zumba, too.

Kas, I hope you will stick with this group here. There are some threads on this forum which seem to attract strange people, and I have seen posts from people who have been drinking or who are just plain drunk. This group is just so calm and civilized and also so supportive. Don't let the words of a mean or disturbed person keep you away from us!

Rusty, glad you are heading home. Hope the week was good for you.

Sooty, Star, Dill, LBH, Lav--looking forward to heading into February with all of you!!

Think I'll be falling asleep early tonight
