Excuse sticky fingers as I type with eggy hands (having an egg on Vogels toast this morning - don't think the chickens mind!). Kuya - I will leave it to you to elucidate our readers about the wonders of Vogels toast (no - she did not have to eat it first to emigrate here - but she did have to imitate the sounds of our indigenous birds - more on that later folks!) And we take the oldies (ie over 45) only if they are good looking and sexy - I am definitely telling fibs here - not about Kuya but about our immigration rules......
I enjoyed the variety of posts yesterday (still today for most of you I know). Caysea -So glad that the threads give you a quick daily connect with the real world - one that is AF.
Cinders - your health history sounds horrendous - but you seem really determined to prevent poison from slipping down your throat this time - and frying your intestines and your brain. Hang on in there - you coped with all the family demands this past weekend - which is no small task - and you did it without the dreaded blot-out-the- hassle- muck. (I said muck not Mick!!!!).
SL - you can do it too - scared me to read that your 14 year old will see a therapist - hope she is OK and gets the support she needs. I have a 14 year old daughter so empathise muchly.
Greetings to everyone else who posted yesterday. Good to see you check in Det.
Now the birds- The rationale behind gradually not replacing pet cats (which I do not support by the way) is that in NZ we have a very serious problem with declining numbers of native birds (and lizards and some other creatures). Cats do kill them but so too do dogs, rats, humans and general deforestation plus most species of birds were extinct by the beginning of the 20th century. A well known entrepenuer/conservation type person suggests we don't replace pet cats - but this is horrible and the whole thing is far more complex.
I am going to dash now - before I loose this thread (puns for breakfast everyone!) - oh, hi there Blondie - hope you are away from the floods (yes, now Australia has awful floods after the fires) - see that its flooding in the UK too.
Nice warm (but not deathly hot) summer day here
Cheerio!
