A cargo plane is in mid-flight over the ocean when suddenly the cockpit door burst open to reveal an armed, masked hijacker to a startled pilot,
        copilot, navigator, and stewardess.
He held a gun to the pilot?s head and said, ?Take this plane to Iraq or I?m gonna spill your brains all over the place.? The pilot calmly reached up, pushed the gun aside and says, ?Look buddy, if you shoot me this plane will crash right into the sea and you?ll die along with the rest of us.?
The hijacker thought about it, then held the gun to the copilot?s head and said, ?Take this plane to Iraq or I?m gonna spill HIS brains all over the place.? But the copilot also calmly reached up, pushed the gun aside and said, ?Listen to me. The pilot?s got a bad heart and he could keel over at the shock of my being killed. So if you shoot me, this plane will still
crash right into the sea and you?ll die along with the rest of us.?
The hijacker thought about it for a moment and then held the gun to the navigator?s head and repeated, ?Take this plane to Iraq or I?m gonna spill
HIS brains all over the place.? But the navigator calmly reached up, pushed the gun aside and said, ?I wouldn?t do that if I were you. Those other two
guys have no sense of direction. Without me they couldn?t find their way out of a paper bag much less get this plane to Iraq. So if you shoot me, this plane will still crash right into the sea and you?ll die along with the rest of us.?
The hijacker thought some more, shrugged and this time held the gun to the stewardess?s head and demanded, ?Take this plane to Iraq or I?m gonna spill
HER brains all over the place.? No one says a word, but the stewardess leaned over and whispered something into the hijacker?s ear. He turned beet red, dropped his gun, and ran out of the cockpit in a panic.
The crew tracked down the hijacker, who was found cowering behind some crates in the hold, and tied him up. The pilot then asked the stewardess what she said that terrified the man so.
?I told him, sir,? she replied, ?that if he killed me, HE?d be the one who?d have to give you guys your blowjobs.?

Billy Conolly ? his own words

        Things I hate about everybody?.

        1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time?.I know
where my watch is pal, where the f*ck is yours? Do I point at my crotch
when I ask where the toilet is?

        2. People who are willing to get off their arse to search the entire
room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change
        the channel manually.

        3. When people say ?Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too?.
F*cking right! What good is a cake if you can?t eat it?

        4. When people say ?it?s always the last place you look?. Of course it
is. Why the f*ck would you keep looking after you?ve found it? Do people
do this? Who and where are they?

        5. When people say while watching a film ?did you see that??. No tosser,
I paid 10 quid to come to the cinema and stare at the f*cking floor.

        6. People who ask ?Can I ask you a question??. Didn?t really give me a
        choice there, did you sunshine?

        7. When something is ?new and improved!?. Which is it? If it?s new, then
there has never been anything before it. If it?s an improvement, then
there must have been something before it.

        8. When people say ?life is short?. What the f*ck?? Life is the longest
damn thing anyone ever f*cking does!! What can you do that?s longer?

        9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks, ?Has the bus come
yet??. If the bus came would I be standing here, Knobhead?

        10. People who say things like ?My eyes aren?t what they used to be?. So
what did they used to be? Wellington boots?

        11. When you?re eating something and someone asks ?Is that nice?? No
it?s really revolting ? I always eat stuff I hate.

        12. People who announce they are going to the toilet. Thanks that?s an
        image I really didn?t need.

        13. McDonalds staff who pretend they don?t understand you unless you
insert the ?Mc? before the item you are ordering?..It?s has to be a
McChicken Burger, just a Chicken Burger get blank looks???..Well
I?ll have a McStraw and jam it in your McEyes you f*cking McTosser.

        14. When you involved in a accident and someone asks ?are you alright?
Yes fine thanks, I?ll just pick up my limbs and be off.

After an intense high speed chase, an officer finally gets the lawbreaker to pull over.
?You know,? says the cop, ?I was originally pulling you over to tell you your taillight is out. Why the hell did you take off like that??
?Last week my wife ran off with a cop,? the man said, ?and I was afraid you were trying to give her back.?

A new teacher thought she would use what she learned in her psychology courses. She said to her class, ?Everyone who thinks they are stupid, please stand up.?
After a few seconds, one boy stood. ?Do you think you?re stupid?? she asked.
?No, ma?am, but I just didn?t want you to have to stand there all by yourself.?

          Evening all,

No chocolate for you today? Poor TT.

Hi Mick.....loved the last joke about the teacher.

          Hi to Blondie

and to you Arsey, I managed an exorcism last night you will be happy to hear! :H

I was rung today and given half a day's work on a film set shooting an ad for crisps. Seems so weird ...... I have to oversee the welfare of the chickens! :H
Money for old rope! Yay mind you gotta be on set at 7 am :upset: I HATE getting up early.

'twas raining today and is forecast for tomorrow so the shoot is on Wednesday which is a public holiday here, celebrating the Treaty of Waitangi..... A much disputed document signed between Maori and Poms in 1840 and argued over ever since.

Greetings to all who follow.....have a happy booze free day.

                Good morning Abbers!

I have no idea what you guys are talking about Mick & Kuya - but that's OK :H

Sunny but very frosty here this morning
I have a trip to Curves then a bit of work lined up for myself today, no babysitting ~ I think!

I just want to offer SL a thought.....
Hormonal changes started early & came on rather fiercely for me. The absolute best thing you can do is to address that head on. Get your levels checked, insisit on it as a matter of fact. I completely surprised the hell out of my doctor, she couldn't believe I was in menopause at the age of 42 & I had been suffering symptoms for a good year & a half at that time
HRT was an absolute must & a life saver, really! You will feel much, much better & will be more stable to handle everything else in your life

Wishing everyone a fabulous AF Monday!
                Lav

PS: Kuya, I should send Stella over to do a guest spot on that TV commercial :H

Morning, fabbies! I am likely going to do a fly-by too, as I have some paperwork to do and would like to get in some exercise before heading to work today at 1pm. I am completely capable of messing around on MWO and facebook for hours, so I definitely need to get a handle on that.

Thanks for starting the the thread, TT.

Blondie, hope you get your site issues sorted out.

RC, have a good day teaching. I can't imagine spending the whole day with young or teenage children, so hat's off to you.

Mick, I'll miss you when you're gone. How long will you be away? All your jokes were terrific this morning. Will the bunnies miss you?

Wondering how I fit in here.....my mom was predominantly Scotch-Irish, with some English and French thrown in. How do you guys define that? Is it printable? Pure German on dad's side. I can be very strong and nivir whinge, except when I do, and like Kuya, I excel when whinging.

Hey Lavande, I 'm glad you have a day to yourself today. Enjoy it.

I have recovered from my funk. Now that I have been to see the property and know what needs to be done, I have settled down. No more self-destructive urges to drink and/or smoke, knowing what I have to get done. My sleep has returned to normal as well.

Anyway, back to normal today, whatever the heck "normal" is.

                  Hugs to all,
                  :l

                    Good morning/afternoon/tomorrow,

Monday now, and letting go of the weekend reluctantly. I'm going to tackle the week with enthusiasm, and feel good about the work aspect of my life.

Another drinking dream last night. Again, a glass of something, deep regret, and thinking about the loss of success here. I am once again so happy it was a dream. I'm also thinking of the advice, "Protect your quit." Going to think about that today.

Kuya, I think it is hysterical you will be taking care of chickens, given how much air time Stella gets.

Morning all - thanks once again for being here for me.
I did not sleep well last night, did a lot of thinking and soul searching. Managed to make a couple of good lists - one as to why I want to be AF, another as to why I hate drinking. I tried also to do a list as to why I wanted to drink, and really could not make that one work at all.
Mick :l your chat was great, thanks - as was Cat's reach out to me - so much appreciated.
Lav - I am thinking it is something that I do need to pay attention to. I hope this is not TMI, I have been peri menopausal for a while now and did realise that that time of the month was not just about chocolate, but was a huge trigger for me - and I had ways to cope (yup, lots of chocolate). About six months ago I thought I had crossed the line from peri menopausal to actual menopause, but found out this morning that is not the truth!!! So I am blaming this last slip and emotional crisis on frigging hormones again. I was so not prepared and not aware of what was happening. I was craving sweet stuff and had been working hard at cutting sweets out after all the reading I had been doing here - did not realise where those feelings were originating from, but now I know.
I have to say I am a tad relieved as I was doing so well and feeling so good about this quit, that falling this last week caught me by surprise and really wondering if I could do this.
So, long way of saying, I feel like garbage - but I know why, and I am even more resolved (if that was possible) to do this.
                      So, day one again.....

Lav, ABSOLUTELY not joking about this. My "sister" who was a bartender friend of mine and who actually became a good sister to me, was on HRT. She ended up with Stage 3 breast cancer and the doctors said it was from the HRT.

In her case, I think that doctors who prescribe something to make you feel better and then do not follow up with hormonal tests to ensure you are not "over the top" do not care.

Please listen to what I am saying.

I have spent a lifetime being reticent and only speaking up when I knew something was absolutely wrong. In my work that was seldom, but when I did. People listened.

                        Please listen?

                        Cindi

ps If you have a doctor who will monitor your levels and keep an eye on what is going on with you, that is different. My friend had a doctor who prescribed her HRT and did not care nor worry about what was going on in her body. She paid a horrific price.

                        Love,

SL......it occurs to me that your struggle to get more than a month may be all down to your hormones BUT we also know that you battle with letting go and weeping. You realised, today, that you were premenstrual, all us women know that makes us weepy, emotional and depressed.

Whether or not you follow an HRT route you MUST seek support when you feel like you want to drink.

We can't support you AFTER you have lost the battle, at that point we can only tend your wounds.

Please stop trying to do this alone.

Okay. Off my soap box. I have a dear friend who paid a price for HRT. There is a difference between those doctors who just prescribed something to make you feel better and those who want you to be well.

Been there, done that, saw many loved ones pay the price of those doctors.

                            I feel old now. :H:H

I am alone today and it sucks. I am saying this with much trepidation. My husband left on a trip and now I am afraid. Why? He was a ROCK for me.

However, today, I have a huge house to clean. I say huge because I was never a real housewife, I always took care of my family with my job. Today, I have no "job" and I need to take care of my house. It seems huge to me. :-)

                            But, it is doable.

I post this with trepidation, as I said before, only because I may not make the household "right." But, on the other hand, I am grateful I can just be me and do what I should.

                            Be well, my AF friends.

                            I will, too.

                            Love,
