    af day Mon 11 Feb

Greetings all to an AF day and night ahead. This will be a quickie as I am multi-tasking. Have a very busy week ahead and today is yukko meetings day. Bound to be stressful but thats part of the job and I can deal with it.
Nice wee post Kuya as you said positive things about our strengths on MWO. Be warned - we might swap colours - Lavande says I am becoming a foodie and I might even take to raising chickens at the bottom of the garden (and breed pigs that fly!). If i do I know where to find a good sober vet and maybe an agent for the TV series...
PPQP - congratulations mate!!:yay: thats fantastico!! Want to follow in your footsteps - but not through the kind of snow pic you posted. I would not be surprised if our Canadian and American friends have gone into hibernation (meanwhile the Jock has flown to warmer climes)...
By the time you read this Tezah you will have made it through an AL blissful free day - so I have tea (both green and gumboot), coffee (strong and decafe) available for all. I am also having an egg for brekkie - need to not have hunger pangs later in the morning....
Gird your loins for the week ahead SL ad SfF - SL - you are doing the right thing with your daughter I am sure. I just told my daughter that she was looking strong and healthy (which she is!!!) (instead of the usual beautiful and brainy) and she actually genuinely smiled back.
Det - hows the AB big guns? Are you on a heavy dose? I really am glad I did the AB thing last year - it kicked me up the bum. You know of course to watch your liver while on it.
Warm wet day here today - better clean my toothies and get my glad rags on (haha very casual where I work!) -
take care my dears and BIG SHOUT to all you lovely Abbers who I have not named here today - but you know who you are and that we are thinking of you all and sending lots of warm vibes :upset::upset::bye:

    Morning TT

Loved your Kiwi version of warm vibes :H:H

It was fortunate I had limited internet as my partner was injured and practically immobile, so I was head nurse; am having a rest today

Having beenn feeling super confident and perhaps a bit complacent, I mentioned on yesterday's thread about a freight train of a craving. Shook me up quite a bit, that I could, in an instant, view drinking as something I'd happily do again. Thankful to say, normal programming has resumed this morning

Hot, hot day in WA (western Australia, not Washington!). Have fun all.

It must be the phase of the moon Blondie, cos last night I had my first grieve for the excitement of planning to party and get drunk.

Strange cos it was not a craving for alcohol just a goodbye to a part of my life.

Mind you, the last time it was an excitement was more than 25 years ago! After that it was more of the same old 'drinking to stay normal' ..... Yeuk!

You will be OK Kuya - you don't drink now, thats it!
Funny about partying - I used to love parties, clubs etc (and was a good dancer I believe) but now I can't stand parties and only boogie in private - and then not much. Have always hated small talk at parties/functions - booze was a nice cover for that. Its not that I find it hard to make conversation - I am not shy at all.
You will have a great time I am sure - and if we lived out what we gream - I would have been certified yonks ago.
How's your partner Blondie? - that sounds awful.

have to go and feed the masses now...

I'd like to dip in here if that's OK? I'm also a Kiwi but I live in Malaysia so probably won't be posting at the same time as you guys .. Guess I'm halfway between the UK and NZ time zone wise.

                      Good morning Abstinent Ones

TT, a big CONGRATS to you on 4 months AF ~ very nice
I have plenty of places to buy day old chicks & will be getting some when it warms up around here) but flying pigs? I'll have to look for an online source for them :H:H

                      Happy vacation Mick

Kuya, thoughts are just thoughts & we don't have to believe them let alone act on them.
I commented somewhere this weekend about keeping myself out of the self pity thinking. That always got me into trouble & I really have no desire to go there again.

Glad you are doing better Det!

Greeting to one & all & wishes for a terrific AF Monday!

Greetings dear FABbers not so near yet not so far...

It's always nice to start my online day by reading here. I appreciate the energy and camaraderie that all of us have created here...

TT....the AF time just piles up doesn't it? Congrats on the 4 months you've done....you sure have gotten stronger and healthier since you started posted. It really is a marvel to see the progress in this process of living well and healthy again. You are awesome! AND....it only gets better. and better and bettererererererer!

Well today is a big day in the epic flooring problem from hell at my house. Long story...but we have been living on crappy plywood since before Christmas. We pulled the old floor and discovered that NONE of the contractors who worked on the additions to this part of the house bothered to level the sections where the floors meet. So....it is finally time to pour the leveling compound today. And maybe...just maybe...new flooring will go in starting Wednesday.

This is a very minor problem as far as problems in life go. I've been able to spin it into my daily gratitude time by feeling grateful that I have a house and that I have a house that is comfortable and a house that can be pleasing to live in. By Friday....it WILL be pleasing to live in again. No more splinters or dust!
                        Sober for the Revolution!

Pat......tis very rare for any of us to be on at the same time, most of us can't decide what day we are in. So since TT started posting we usually have two threads on the go at any one time.

Good words TT - trying hard to turn them out as strong and confident, which I was not!

Det - wished I had read your post about Ikea before leaving - what an experience, could not stay too long, but at least I know what to expect when I go next time - now have to work out how to put this desk together, opened box last night, closed it and put it in garage - rainy day project for sure!

Day off - have to get girls tops for Valentines Day dance - oh the stress, whay can't they just have a dance for funs sake, making it Valentines just amps up the stress level!

Great job on your 4 months TT - I have a week (this time round, but a lot of AF time for the year IMO:H)

Have a good Monday all, see you all later.....

                            enjoy the vitamin D Mick:l:l

SL, this made me laugh. I have the same reaction. I bought a very simple rack for firewood. It stayed in the box in the garage for about a month. One evening, I tried unsuccessfully to put it together with the diagram; no instructions had been provided as the manufacturers thought it was too obvious. I asked someone where the washers go - apparently, next to the nuts. Oh well, I said, have to take it apart then. I left it partially assembled. A few days later, little elves in the form of my yard guys had assembled it (properly!) and stacked the wood.

We working moms should not have to figure this s**t out.

Hi all, and a strong AF day to you.
