I short trip to Florida sounds good Star, hope you enjoy your visit.
Actually, a short trip to anywhere sounds good to me right now but that's not gonna happen.

Quick morning hello! Sorry to be out of touch - I just read through the end of last week - everyone's words are full of life and all the ways in which we form ourselves...it is such a gift, thanks.

Yes, LBH, 'Love is for the Courageous' most definitely - and I mean all types of love...good luck with the kitty (lap loss). I don't watch Breaking Bad, but it must have been a special place for auntie's send-off. Hope the event on Saturday wasn't troubling. Thanks for the turmeric/biotin idea, I have been working my way through every anti-inflammatory substance I can think of, but hadn't gotten to turmeric yet (which would help with my headaches, I'm sure) so thanks for that! Something lousy in your life? No! I hope all works out...

Rusty/Lav, the V's Day conversation is a keeper...love the MiraLax idea. Lav, I would like to wave a magic wand and have vacation tickets arrive at your door -- I hope that you have a trip somewhere in your future soon.

Dill - so happy the labs were good. I visited the dermatologist and came away with a chunk out of my left arm for a biopsy. Goodness, if there's something wrong, I think he took it all out already! RE: coffee, yes, McDonald's coffee has changed for the worse. I used to find it bearable for traveling, but now, not so much. I use the small packets of Starbucks Italian Roast in a pinch (I'm not a fan normally). They got us through 6 days of travel from the east to the desert, so that's saying something.

Star, enjoy your FL trip, even a day will do you good, I'm sure.

My Mom is coming here for 10 days, in the middle of which we'll be going to CA for a family event, god help us. More about all that later - now I must feed the pups and take them to see the doggy chiropractor - a 7:45 am appointment, so I'm off..

Hello All! Sorry for the lapse in checking in. It's been so very busy!!

I'm glad everyone is doing well. Star-have a great mini vaca in FLA. My brother is down there now and my dad will be in SC on Wed for 2 weeks.

Rusty-glad you had a super birthday celebration! I am ready for new stoneware just for my own use. I really like the square asian style plates I think. Simple. All the china I inherited is packed up and in the attic. There is no chance of entertaining anymore with all these animals in the house.

Lav-After all that the kids never made it to the wedding? Jeeze. Hope you can get a break this week!!

Cyn-hope you have a good visit with your mom and a good trip to CA. I also hope that somehow you find out what is causing you so much discomfort and can find a cure.

So the job is gearing up. Getting busier and busier which is fab. On Wed they told me they were sending me to a conference in Atlanta for 2 days. Yikes!! Couldn't say no as there is a $2500 raise riding on this (being a team player). I've spent the last few days working out boarding and pet sitting arrangements. LM and Mick are going to a very nice Inn where they will share a small room (that's right, a room not a cage!!), be involved in group play throughout the day and get room service and a bath. My dad felt bad he couldn't take Mickey for the duration so he is covering the costs for one dog (he'll still be in SC). My hoarder friend (who just got a new puppy-did I mention that?) is taking DD. I had no choice. My old dog walker is coming by once a day to feed the cats and clean the litter box, take in the mail and paper. It's going to cost me almost $200 for the boyz and cats plus the food I will have to buy while I'm there. The school gives us a food allowance that doesn't even come close the what the cost of one meal is!! I better get that raise after all of this!!
Tomorrow I am headed to a workshop in the area of my old school for the day. I'm drivingin with a colleague from my office so that will be nice.
I am only working Saturdays right now. I had the whole weekend off last week because of the storm and my boss couldn't get any other demos scheduled for me for yesterday and next sunday. Too last minute so I have been enjoying rare time off (holiday today). I had the option of trying to schedule my own demo for next Sunday but decided against it. Too much to do to get ready for my trip.
I can't believe I am actually leaving my babies!! I haven't done that since 2008 and at that time I had a friend come in and stay at the house (DD went to hoarderville). Friend has since gotten married and had a baby so that option was gone. I am going to pay $15 extra to have the webcam turned on at the Inn. I can't help it!!
I've been decluttering slowly but surely. I've set up a new Juicing/Blending station-good thing too because my outlet I had been using on the island shorted out last nite. Sigh. I've got to tackle the dining room next but may not be able to get to it too much today. Waiting to hear if I'm going to dinner with my dad and sis. Sis is going through a really tough time. Her SIL (I've spoken about her before) apparently is finally succumbing to the breast cancer. They called hospice Saturday and she is on O2 and having trouble breathing. My sis was going over there this morning and we haven't heard anything since. I just know there is no reprieve this time. I can't even begin to mentally prepare for how unbelievably sad it will be when we get the word and how unbearable it will be to attend the wake and funeral. She is being taken far too young and with young grandchildren and a 16 yo daughter being left behind never mind the huge family who won't know what to do with out her including my sis. Just not fair. :upset:
On that positive note, I will log out. Will try to post again tomorrow nite.

My daughter got such great relief just by going GF!
I am collecting recipies & learning to bake GF.....fun
Hope you are OK!

Papmom, on the road now, huh? That's pretty cool! I used to love to get out of work, go to a seminar, etc. it is hard on family life but the change of scenery is nice too!

I am watching boys again tonight - not like I had any better offers :H
I am trying to arrange a day at Longwood Gardens tomorrow with my daughter & grandaughter. Need some girl time

It was wonderful having this day off! I took inspiration from you Lav, and worked on cleaning off my desk. I didn't stop there. I got busy in the kitchen going through the fridge and pantry and pitching things with expired dates and then organizing so I can find things again!!!

Pmom, I'm so glad your job is going so well. I'm sure it will be well worth the trouble of boarding your pooches, but I also sympathize. I know how hard it can be. Glad you posted, I've been missing you and Chill and wondering about both of your new jobs.

Cyn, I was thinking your skin condition was only on your face. Does it cover more than your face and arms? Is it itchy? I sure hope you get some relief soon! Is the Starbuck's Italian Roast that you spoke of an instant? I'm also not a fan of instant, but I would be willing to give it a try. We will be traveling to New Orleans at the end of March to visit daughter and familly and I hate it when I can't find a good cup of coffee.

Star, I think you will like the book. I find some of the descriptive parts of the place he went to while in the coma a little hard to follow, but I loved how he expresses what it meant to him and how it changed things for him.

Got a lot done today, went to lunch with some girlfriends, gave the dog a bath, took a nice long walk. Back to the grindstone tomorrow.

Hi Pap, how fun to travel. Your animals will be well taken care of, too bad you could not find a house sitter, much easier. Maybe next time. A change of scene will do you good, new people places and adventures will be good for you. You sound happier and positive. The work atmosphere is different, more positive, from your description, just what you needed. Happy you are open to change and opportunity!

Dill, what a lovely day off you had. I am looking forward to reading that book.

Lav, you are a saint, hope you get some girl time.

Cyn, how rough to be fighting a skin condition. I have rashes in the winter, the harsh weather is tough on me too. Hope you find something to help you soon.

I had a rough Monday, but made it through. Really struggling with my job, which is up and down. Going away this weekend will give me time to think. To all, have a great day.

Seeing some sun at the moment but rain is moving in later (better than snow).
I'm all set to meet my girls in a few hours for some fun & flowers
Yesterday was my Mom's birthday, spent all day thinking about her & wishing she had stayed around longer. She was my one & true friend in this life & the only one who could ever talk any sense into me.

I hope everyone has a great AF Tuesday!

Mom's are special people, we only get one. It changes everything when they leave us way too soon. I was just talking about that with my daughter today. She was only in 4th grade when my Mom passed away. I hope I can stick around much, much longer for my grandaughter

Good morning all,

Hey, Pap, so sorry for your loss. It is not fair when someone dies too young, just a pain filled time. I am flying on Friday and had to decide when I booked my flight about luggage. I am taking a back pack (instead of my purse) and would put any meds in there. It will go under my seat. My on flight bag that I already paid for, will go in the overhead rack. Don't have anything security could construe as a weapon in your purse, or any fluid filled bottles over a few ounces or they will take them. I just take a lipstick, chapstick, and not much else. Flying is alright now, just get through the check in and security and you will be fine. I always allow myself plenty of time as sometime the lines can get long. Hope this helps.

Lav, you and me both. I have been thinking about my Mom too. So sorry you miss your Mom, your best friend. There is such an emptiness where she used to be, the fun we used to have, laughter, just her being there. Lucky to have your daughter and granddaughter to go to the gardens with...
