TT, I do start my day off with a cup or two of strong french roast coffee but then switch over to decaf green tea ~ trying to be kinder to my B/P

Just a quick whizz about before I do something with the rest of my day... ummm.... like... maybe go back to bed :H

PPQP - As Kuya says, I think we'll all be happy for you when the legal drag stuff is over and done with. Fingers crossed for the 28th.

KY - good wedding then?! Funny how some folks say "but just a wee drink?" or "but it's only one" or "but it's a special occasion. Hands up how many here did that themselves? I did... So as much as it annoys me to hear that wee incident KY (who's ever you offer a non-smoker a toke of their cigarette "it's a special occasion!") I'm equally aware that I was the dumbass that prolly said those things too.

Was up at 5.30am (WTF?!?!) to go for a very long run (WTF?!?) was back by 9am and everyone still in their beds. Now, this means I have the rest of the day to pootle about and to do some studying. And tomorrow to do bugger all. BUT don't think my running is any way impressive - go see what Mrs A (anon) is up to. Runs twice as much as I do. Puts me to shame :H

Hi Fella's

Got my gratitude hat on, but took it off to put my forgiveness hat on ( they are the same shape just different colours!) This friend did such a bad thing to me in front of my then 5 year old and I never heard from her again until last October when she wrote and apologised.. I have just acknowledged that email and accepted her profuse apologies. It took me this long because what she did was pretty unforgivable but feel glad I did..

My AF world is rocking away after my fuck up so that's cool too

Morning all! Lovely evening last night in NYC. Had an expensive dinner, saw a terrific show and spent some time wandering around Times Square. Nice. I'm sipping tea this morning and looking out at the New Years Ball and 2013 sign in Times Square. Back home this afternoon by train, back to reality. It's nice to have New York so close. Really rough weekend here - am lurking a bit but trying to cope with life - shame this weekend is a downer as it is warm and sunny and we should be enjoying it, not dealing with it.
The girls and I are making Kelly Clarkson's song "Stronger" our theme tune for just now - not really a Kelly C fan, but these lyrics do ring true...
Anyone know a good hit man for the girls dad? he deserves it - eldest had second therapy session and it is starting to come out - my marriage was a really big mistake...:upset:

Good turnout and lots of interest. Really, really wanted to reward myself, so stopped and got the makings for a beef/seasfood stir fry. Going to have to find a different reward as I really don't like cooking all that much. :H

I went to the ocean today with my son. It was a really great day. I'm beyond tired, but it seems like I have to get away from the work week to really enjoy time with him.

I've been on the fence about enrolling him in two sports this spring, so he can catch up on skills. I just decided not to, reading my text here. I'll be so busy trying to keep up with life that we will both have a miserable spring. It's not worth it.

I don't know about where you guys live, but the pressure to distinguish your kids is crazy here. All so they get into a good college. I can't handle it. There is too much on my plate already. He'll be better off in life if his mom doesn't go crazy.

Nurdl, I'm so glad you are back. I really missed you. Don't disappear again, okay?

Hi Cat,
I work in a prestigious International School and the pressure there is enormous to be fantastic at EVERYTHING.
My advice would be NOT to go down that road.. the parents end up stressed, the kids are stressed and it's misery all round.
How old is your son? If he is still young, let him still be a child.
All the kids in my school who are given a bit of slack are much more balanced, happier, healthier and seem to end up going to a good college anyway!!

Thank you, Patrice. He is nine. He is sweet, and loving, and completely average at school. He is extraordinary at being a great human being. We'll find our way. I really appreciate your reassurance. I was crazy ambitious when I was younger, and succeeded both in a high powered career and a messed up life. SO. Slower is better.
