Yes, I can relate to that. Last night I couldn't sleep, felt like someone had sewn me into a wooly suit - couldn't stop wriggling and itching :H so today I went back to bed in the afternoon and yes...just wanted to sleep - and that's without an injury.

Please be kind to yourself. If you were nursing your best friend back to health you would be full of compassion for her and now is the time to have some for yourself :l xxx

                Yes, thanks Kuya

I'm proud to say I have rarely drunk since last May and had nothing since 2/2/13 - it's the topa that I have an itchy reaction to - calmed with an antihistamine. I was warmer than usual last night so it wasn't working.

...and Kuya, just wanted to say what a wonderful asset you are to this forum. Right person, right place, right words.

                :thanks:

Hope you have a better night Teezah

Disclaimer: I didn't take that pic of the woodpecker (I borrowed it from the internet But one one I saw today looked exactly like that!
Apparently, as I was admiring the birds at the birdfeeder from my kitchen window there was an owl or a hawk or something helping himself to one of my chickens. I found her inside the fenced chicken run with her head literally ripped off. Pretty gross & bloody :upset:
I've been keeping chickens since 2004 & this is the first one to be picked off like that. I've had others drop dead in the extreme heat but never murdered like that
Well, I was going to retire this flock pretty soon anyway & only God know what the Amish farmer does with them when I hand them over

I hope everyone is having a cozy & safe evening

Lav - poor chook :upset: Was there no commotion in the pen? I loved the photos of the bird and the orchids.
PPQ - I "do" the free Chopra meditations whenever they come up. ie, I open day 1 and read it, decide when I'm going to start, flag the message as it's getting further down my inbox, open day 2's, flag it coz I know I won't get to it. Day 3 open a new folder called meditations, put day 3 in there straight away, set up day 4 and beyond to go automatically in there. Start to get irritated by getting these every day. Last days, go into meditations folder and start to read them. Discover they have an expiry date, so do one of them, feel great. Following week delete meditations folder as it just reminds me of my disorganised state. Look on Chopra site for free meditations.

Pat - I'd love to have a great TCM practitioner here. We did have one but he left and some are a bit dodgy. Will check out the site. (oops, it was PPQ's link) Re - bouffant hair - I can feel my hair start to curl and stick out at the first sign of humidity. :upset:

Mick - Good to see you back - what's the food like there?

Hi to everyone this thundery Thursday. Hope we get a decent amount of rain.

blondie, I was inside the house with both of my dogs this afternoon so we didn't hear the commotion - surely there must have been one
I just got my son to agree to come over tomorrow to help me cover up the top of the fenced area with something to prevent future predators from getting in there. Finally, I get some payback for all that free babysitting :H

                              hidy ho ABerooooos!

got into my hotel near old downtown Benicia on the coast early and took the time to go for a long walk out to the warf and play 'tourist' for a bit. so nice! had the most amazing salmon dinner tonight at 'Fisherman Jacks' which I highly recommend to anyone visiting this part of Norcal.

Catbuddy, shoulders are such complex joints and rehab is often slow sorry to say. hope you can be pain-free soon. have you tried DMSO? it's helped many folks I know.

TreeTops thanks for the reminder on liver interactions with things while on AB. I'm due for a blood test as it's been a little while.

Mick, awesome laughs! I thought I was the only one that darted around the market humming the 'mission impossible' theme!

Lav, you really had me going for a minute....was going to ask you about your lens and camera settings!

time for shoes off and relaxation mode. hope to catch someone in chat later on

                              be well

Experiencing extreme Ambition Deficit Disorder, but think it's related to a whole variety of legitimate, powerful issues I need to work through. After the AL is gone, I am left with the partial wreckage of a neglected life. I'm up for the job, but it does remind me of people visiting their homes after a hurricane. Lots to tackle, where to begin.

I've been trying to recover from a re-injury of my shoulder from the Jan. ski trip. Still hurts all the time, and can't sleep on it. The PT I'm seeing has diagnosed (along with several docs before her) a wacked out nervous system from physical trauma. I should go on neurontin or cymbalta to reboot, but both have led to really really bad side effects in the past. So she is doing PT work instead, waking up my nerves, having me do heat/ice, specific breathing exercises, sort of an east meets west approach. The drugs will be our last resort.

So right now I'm exhausted and in overall body pain; this is day 3 of this. I just want to sleep. Sheet.
