SF - while I don't think this is the forum to debate the AL content of poison - an interesting aside in the marketing of beer in the USA is the popularity of 'lite beer'. I understand this can run at 3 -4%. here in NZ a regular beer is 4- 5 % anyway and but it is not marketed as lite beer (I think quantity of beer consumed is the factor). To my thinking there is not a hell of a lot of difference in AL content between US 'lite' and regular. We do sell low-AL beer here which is around 1% or something. There is a substantial difference in AL content but its still poison.
Doesn't matter now cos we don't consume the stuff (and I never liked beer anyway) but again shows how advertising is so powerful and what is considered moderation is contestable. Same goes with wine - huge variation in AL content and of course size of the glasses.
