    March Maintenance ~ Week 1

    Good morning to all...

Lav, we are going to get nailed with snow today, I am hoping this is the last big storm of the season. You are lucky to live by your daughter, an hour is a doable drive. You can be a part of her life. I notice that with my daughter living 4/5 hours away, we are drifting apart. Just impossible to know what is going on, be close, even though we speak daily. Itis just not the same.

So, Tuesday, snowstorm, it does get better than this, but being AF makes it all much better. Gratitude and a positive attitude DO make life better and somehow things do fall into place. Maybe not the place we want, but things settle.

To all, have a great day.

      March Maintenance ~ Week 1

That's exactly what I thought Lav! I will never pick at another zit again!

Gratitude-I have definitely included this in my life the past few years. It really does make a huge difference when you think all is lost and everyone is against you. In my darkest days at my last job, I listed 5 things I was grateful for at night just to help me get to sleep. It worked! And, I ususally felt better by morning. When I didn't for 2 weeks in a row and kept sinking deeper and deeper and found it hard to list anything, well, that's when Welbutrim came to the rescue. It brought me up out of the fog just enough to be able to see what was good in my life again. Was only on it for 3 months and then with doc's permission tapered down.
Life is good again, jobs going well, animals are fairly healthy, spring is coming and I'm finally ready to start taking care of me physically. All of this is due to being grateful everyday.

        March Maintenance ~ Week 1

        Hello MMs,

Pmom, I'm glad to hear your life is going so well! You managed to weather the storms and here you are. It's awesome! I like your plan of thinking of 5 things to be grateful for before going to sleep at night. I'm going to adopt that idea.

Star, I know exactly how you feel about the distance. It changes things. But when we do visit, we fall right back in stride as if we were always together, so that's at least some comfort. Does it work that way for you?

Lav, we are having a rain/snow mix today and the temps are staying low all week. I had so hoped for moderate temps! In keeping with the gratitude theme, I guess I should be glad we are not having an all out blizzard!

LBH, I'm glad you saw Flight and liked it. Wasn't the ending when he talked about his freedom completely ironic? Yet I could surely relate. Keep on gardening! It's so cold and dreary here it gives me hope to read of your exploits.

Off to yet another day of work. Today I think I shall pull out my calendar and make the official count of remaining work days.
        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

            March Maintenance ~ Week 1

            Hello all -
Quick pop in just to say hi, and to say I am so happy to catch up with everyone in this new month (loved the 'rabbit rabbit' Star). I'm under deadlines again to get writing out - will try to get here again later today, but in the meantime just wanted to wish everyone in the storm path good luck. Dill, oddly enough I am a winter lover, stranded here in the desert and dreaming about starting seeds. 6 more weeks of limbo, and then we will head back home, where I hope there still will be some Spring springing. There are lots of specialized seed companies in the Hudson Valley, where they are trying to reintroduce old varieties, so I'm hopeful of starting some of those 'heirloom' seeds.

Missing you Sooty, Chill and Rustop - how are our island dwellers? Hope everyone else is well - more soon -

              Hey cyn,
That's one of the reasons I like to go to Longwood Gardens so often. I can pick up organic, heirloom seeds there - so far I only have the Swiss chard. But with snow on the schedule tomorrow the seeds will have to wait
I hope you are enjoying some desert time, Spring will still be here when you get back!

Just saw the snowstorm on the news that is in (some of) your neck of the woods; best to stay indoors, I reckon!! It looks lovely from someone who is snow-starved, but not so much fun when you're in the midst of it!

                Take care...!

                  March Maintenance ~ Week 1

                  Good morning to all...

We have at least a foot of snow. Last night was really hazardous, over an hour on snow packed highways. Scary. Just grateful to have made it safely, and my family, too. My son took over two hours to get home, his phone was out, and it was a blessing he made it. It was a blizzard!!!!

Dill, yes, my daughter and I get along when we see each other, but it is not the same for me. Once the weather gets nicer, I try to drive down there alot more, to be more involved. Then I feel closer. Counting down days of work left to you. Beautiful.

Lav, is this snowy mess going to affect your area? You can stay hunkered down, if need be.

Pap, so glad the new job is going well, and all other areas. Being grateful DOES make a difference. I just notice that when I sink into depression, it is my thinking that gets me there. Change my thinking, with effort, slowly my mood changes too.

Hello to all, have a good day.

Hello MMs, it's a winter wonderland outside my window. Schools are closed so I have a leisurely morning this morning. I have loads of work to do so I actually will go into my office in spite of the weather, but no hurry getting there.

Hi blondie, thanks for popping in to wish us well! :welcome:

                      Good morning March friends!

I lost the battle, have succumbed to the head cold from hell :H
Can't believe I held out so long this winter considering all the kiddie snot I've dealt with this winter!

Getting some light rain & wind right now but snow will arrive later. Hope it's not too much

                      Enjoy your snow day Dill!

                        March Maintenance ~ Week 1

I have seen pictures of all the big heavy snow?I am sorry for those of you who are so slammed, it just buries things in a heap no discrimination. I still have visceral long ago memories of that sort of treacherous blind driving, of being stranded. I hope you can be home and safe and let it melt. The magic counting of last work days, Dill, what a milestone this is. So sorry you have a miserable cold Lav, I hate them. You have fended off illness while being around the little germ factories so frequently, I imagine you will shake this off quickly as you exercise and eat well. Not to mention think well. I need some well thinking as I had a disheartening eye appointment today, every time I go I get an additional and creepy diagnosis. Today I went in with corneal opacity and scaring, multiple prosthetic lens replacements, and ocular hypertension with loss of visual field, and came out with macular degeneration, vitreous degeneration, and post vitreous detachment (my episode in the meeting). Why do my eyes still look so big and healthy? Good cover story. I have new prescribed supplements and am going to see if I can get a new hard contact for my left eye to improve the vision, but I think the lights might be going out before the rest of me. I'm really tired right now so I am going to table "thinking"; Lord Bird Heart is leaving for a few days tomorrow and I can hunker down into me. Love, Ladybird.
                        may we be well

LBH-I"m so sorry about the diagnoses for your eyes. That has to be a most frightening thing to be going through. Please don't hunker down too far-we want to know you are OK and we will help you as much as we can.
                          :l

Lav-feel better soon! Who takes care of Nurse Lav???? I've been taking the Oil of Oregano religiously and knock on wood I've avoided the plagues going around.

So glad my midwestern friends are safe and sound. Rusty? Check in please?

I have decided not to worry about the impending storm until I wake up tomorrow morning. Of course I hope school will be cancelled as I HATE when the commute home is a mess but chances are it won't be as that mere 30 miles north means the difference between 10" and 4". I of course will get the 10-12" of snow.

My dad has made it to Logan Airport with a half hour delay (flying in from SC). It was sleeting when I got home at 6, haven't looked outside since so I hope the shuttle driver delivers him safe and sound around 8pm.

Got my new blender today and hope to try it out tomorrow. I got the Ninja Complete Kitchen setup online from Kohl's. It better deliver all the promises!! I also shopped today for juicing restock. I am really enjoying my Mean Green Juice (even tho it gives me wicked heartburn for a while) and my breakfast smoothies. No real weight lost but something good has to come out of all the veggies and fruits I'm ingesting!!

I've seen Kas on FB-I think she is in the western part of Canada and taking some fabulous photos. So glad she is doing well but I miss her. Chill too and the rest of our 'gang'! Come out come out whereever your are!!

I know eye problems can be frightening`but don't lose hope. My 80 year old friend & former neighbor just told me last week that her vision is much better now than it was one year ago. She too has macular degeneration (& some other things). After a series of treatments & gallons of eye drops she is much improved.

Papmom, not a darn flake of snow here today, just rain & a lot of wind. I guess I have nothing to complain about except for this head cold :H
I hope your Dad gets home safe & have fun with your new jazzy kitchen equipment!

                            Wishing everyone a cozy night!

                              March Maintenance ~ Week 1

                              Good morning to all...

I had a weird dream about cats starving to death in my yard, and when I woke up, my cat's food container was empty. What a dream, what drama. Isn't that weird? The snow is melting here, so even though we were nailed, spring is coming, slowly but surely.

LBH, my heart goes out to you. I was encouraged to hear that drops and other treatments helped Lav's friend. I hope your eye specialist is kind and listens. We value your imput, so when you hunker down, keep on posting.

Dill, thanks for the lovely quote. How nice to have the day off school. Going in when you feel like it is such a difference.

Lav, a cold, on NO. I hate them, and so far have been, like you, doing everything in my power to avoid those old germs. Take care of yourself, and hey, now is the time to call in favors from YB and the kids

Pap, so cool you are juicing and focusing on fruits and veggies. My husband has lost over 20 lbs, but has really restricted his eating while juicing, including giving up caffeine. His blood work and blood presssure were improved dramatically withing three weeks, really awesome for him. But, it is hard to not indulge in pizza, chips, sweets, pasta, potatoes, etc. I have been juicing and feel so much better physically, but the caffeine thing is pushing me over the edge. Be careful driving in all this mess. Hey, are you happy you went on your trip the other week? I know you had lots of anxiety but did it anyway. Also, I don't know if I ever said this to you, I admire you for continuing your search for a job despite many disappointments. Your perserverance is an inspiration.

Hey ladies, our thread seems to have shrunk for some reason. Have a great day,

                                March Maintenance ~ Week 1

Hi Star, Lav Dill, LBH. Good Morning! Weather here doesn't know what the heck to do! Not bad enough in the central part to call off school although the local publics have done so but I fear as the day goes on it will be a nightmare trying to get home. Yuck.

Thanks Star for the pat on the back. I don't know how to give up apparently!! Yes, I am very glad I went on my trip. $$ wise it was a hardship but my boss is really excited for the project to start and VERY excited for me to take the lead on the functional side. I definitely feel more confident about this project now that Ive met some of the people from the company and met and spoke with other users. Its all good right now! I do like the juicing and the smoothies but the sugar/carbs are still my downfall and until I get that out of my life and start exercising nothing will change. I don't think I can give up my morning tea and lunchtime Diet Coke too.

Lav-sure hope you are feeling better today!
Well, I have procrastinated enough. 45 min to get ready and out the door!!
