    April Achievers!

OK OK Lav, 7 day rule it is!! I give! Nurse Lav has spoken.

Per1-I am single, never married, no kids, 5 furkids-2 cats and 3 oversized papillons, one of which I do agility with when I have time and money (hence the purchase of the Paphut, a vintage travel trailer) of which I have precious little now. So, not really doing agility like I want to, owe my dad some big bucks, have no time to fix her up, so the Paphut has been sold. He'll be by tomorrow evening to pay up and get his Bill of Sale. I expect I will come home one night next week to an empty driveway :upset:. In my mind I was traveling every weekend to New England agility events. the reality is I am not and the Paphut never left my drive.
Sorry you and Rusty are getting some nasty weather. Spring has sprung here in the Northeast but that doesn't completely rule out a surprise snowstorm but highly unlikely. As far conspiracy theories-haven't seen the news all day so no idea what the latest is. No opinion either. We'll just have to wait and see if he survives his injuries (and possible assassination- just sayin') and if so, will he even talk.
Yes, our LBH is quite erethral (sp?) and gives us much to imagine!! She is indeed a welcome member of our little tribe and when absent is much missed. And so are you!

      April Achievers!

      Hey Kids!

Saturday night & sitting here all on my own as usual but I think I'm finally getting used to this. Better than staring at a grump all evening :H

Pers, I sure hope your test results are OK. We are here to listen, share experiences from all different perspectives, etc. I hope you know that
My 40th wedding anniversary is coming up in June but I won't be celebrating since my devoted husband has bothered to live here for the past three years. Long story....he's messed up in the thinking department
My kids are 36 & 32 (that makes me pretty old)!!!!
3 grandkids, 2 dogs, 1 cockatiel & 25+/- hens & a home based embroidery/momogramming business keep me busy these days

I've seen the BS about the conspiracy theories......
I imagine these theories have been formulated by the same folks who claimed the goverment was responsible for the school shootings in CT and the Holocaust was a hoax, etc. The world is full of paranoid, delusional people - nothing new there.

Papmom, selling the paphut may be a blessing in disguise. I am kind of glad in a way because I would have worried about you hauling that trailer somewhere & having it breakdown. Something better will pop up for you. Be sure to stay open to all possibilities

It is definitely feeling chillier tonight but that's OK. I sleep better when it's cooler
      Have a comfy night everyone!

        Good morning to all...

Up early today, could not sleep when I actually can, and watch tomorrow, when I need to get up, I'll want to sleep. This has been a pattern for me....

Pap, it is a good thing that you sold the Paphut, it was sitting in your driveway torturing you because you couldn't use it. Now, you have the money and have opened yourself up to new opportunities as evidenced by the empty driveway.

Pers, I am in my 50s, married, grown kids, and love to read!!! Pearl Buck is an author from a long time ago, and Pavilion of Women is about a woman in China, her family, and that culture. Dill and I loved it!!! I love reading historical fiction, and Caleb's Crossing is another book about the past. Both at the library (hopefully) so you don't have to spend any money. So there you have it, if you are interested, you can check them out.

Lav, it is better to be content by yourself rather than unhappy in company. It seems that you are not often alone, but so involved with family matters, vital and really busy. It was cool here too, today, but pleasant. I love springtime.

LBH, Rusty, and all, have a great Sunday!!!

          Good morning friends

Noticable difference in my sleep patterns lately as well Star - makes you wonder.
Temps dropped into the high 30's last night, oh boy!
Lots of sun & allergy producing pollens forecasted for today - oh well :H

Wishing everyone a terrific AF Sunday!

            April Achievers!

Hello AAer's, Just another quick check in for me. I feel like a broken record with these short check-ins but it's really the best I can do at the moment. I'll get back in the swing of things when work settles down in May, hopefully. But things at home are still hopping too. Kids are here more than usual, so is my son. Looks like the marriage is on the rocks which is really where it should be. But it puts a squeeze on Mr. D and I helping with the kids.

I have read and am caught up with all. Sad about the Paphut, but feng shue tells us to clear away that which no longer serves us to make way for our current activities and interests. So it goes.

I agree with others, Pers, very glad to have you with us and hope you stick around.

Rusty, LBH, Lav, Star, my love to you all!
            Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Thank you Dill, Lav and Star for your thoughts on the paphut. Each one was right on. She is sold, I got the money tonite, gave him a bill of sale and gave my dad what I owed him. I have $600 left over. I forgot to ask my sis if she wanted it back (remember she gifted me $1K to buy a trailer) but I will. If not, some of that money is going to go to a total yard clean up. the rest will be put into savings so that I can hopefully save up and take advantage of whatever comes my way like Lav said. I am depressed looking at the yard which used to be one of the nicer ones in the neighborhood and is now ghetto and overgrown. I'm also depressed at the state of the inside of my house but if I at least get the yard looking decent and simplify the maintenance, I can work on the inside. As star said, I won't be tortured anymore looking at the trailer and feeling guilty that I had to choose between inside, outside or trailer.
The new paphut owner will take her away sometime this week. I'm secretly hoping it will be tomorrow so I can start healing. I feel like such a failure right now.

Papmom, let's get the word 'depressed' out of your story. This is the beginning of a new opportunity for you
What sort of yard renovations are you thinking about? Hard to go fancy when you have dogs trotting on everything.
What do you want to do inside? Paint? That's fairly easy, even I do that when I'm forced to :H
Stay positive, remember the universe is listening

                  April Achievers!

                  Good Evening, Friends,

It's been an insanely busy weekend, and I go on the road again tomorrow to Minnesota so I just wanted to check in....

Pap:l I'm proud of you for selling that paphut. I was REALLY worried when you bought it because I knew you were really in over your head financially, but I didn't want to say anything.:l Don't feel like a failure because you made a good decision...to sell something that would have kept you forever buried in debt. Hold your head up high! Taking care of your home, inside and outside, will lift your depressed mood because it will help you feel good about yourself again. You will feel that sense of pride that you feel when you quilt a beautiful table runner as a gift for someone special. Also, with regard to saving....I got great tip from a financial consultant years ago. Whenever you buy something with cash (like groceries, for example), take the leftover change (as in silver, not paper bills), and put it in a jar. Do this every time you pay cash , and see how much money you have collected in the jar after a month's time. I ended up with over $60 saved after a month.

Perse-I'm 52, single, never-been-married, no kids, and no pets. Up until last year, I was a quality assurance auditor, consultant and trainer in the automotive industry. No longer in the automotive industry, I'm in the environmental realm. I own my own business and travel quite a bit. I want to formally welcome you to our thread. I, thee Rusty, take you, Perse, to be our lawfully wedded threadmate....to have and to hold....:H We love having you here....you're a delightful addition to our little family.

Dill-is your daughter-in-law in treatment? I thought your son had gotten divorced. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Star-I forgot to tell you how shocked I was that people blamed YOU for getting sick in Mexico. How twisted is their thinking?

LBH-I cringed when you shared your "tourista" story. That was me at the Detroit airport last Thursday.

Lav-the renowned matriarch of our thread. Your advice to Pap is spot on.

Ok, kids....I'm off to bed. I'll try to check in during the week. Big hellos and hugs to LBH, Cyn, TDN, and everyone else.

IMO, there is always a bit (or a lot) of sadness with loss. But please, please, please be gentle with yourself Pap. Allowing nasty voices to go rampant in your noggin will hurt you. You are not a failure & like Dill said it can clear room for a new chapter. Sending you xoxox's a plenty :soothe:

Hope the weeks starts off swell for all of you...nighty. P.

                        April Achievers!

                        Good morning all..

Pap, I got rid of lots of things I don't use anymore, leaving room for the Universe to fill up the empty spaces: cleaning closets. It was a big chore, took a few hours and a visit to the Good Will. I was hanging on to things I no longer used, no longer fit into, and that were just plain old, maybe faded. Seriously, I believe it is good to release what we no longer are able to take care of and open ourselves up to whatever is next. To me, a failure is someone who gives up, and you NEVER give up. Resilent, resourceful, those are words that describe what I have heard. Hope you have a great week.

Dill, sounds like you are really busy. Hope your son is doing well and the grandkids too. I know divorce process is literally hell to go through, so all support is needed. April is moving along and your retirement is almost here.

Rusty, busy as usual, hope things are going your way...it was good to hear from you, stop in whenever you are able.

Lav, spring allergies are the worst, I grew up with them, then they left. It was pretty chilly here yesterday, but lots of people were out, after all we all want spring.

Pers, have a great week, are you currently working? I am so busy again this week, it is important for me to get on first thing or there is no time. Have a good day.

To all, soldier on, April Achievers.

                          Good morning April friends

Waiting for some real sun to arrive but it will.

I have work stuff waiting for me so I'm skipping Curves this morning.
And I have an appointment with the oral surgeon this afternoon to have my last wisdom tooth extracted. Can you believe it, at this age? UGH!

Wishing everyone a wonderful AF Monday!

OK, I survived the wisdom tooth extraction :H
Actually, it wasn't bad at all. I found a terrific female oral surgeon, very good skills
I decided I deserve a day off so the grandkids are going elsewhere tomorrow. Sometimes these things hurt more the day after.....

Chilly here again, was down near freezing last night. I'm glad I haven't planted anything outside yet!
Going to kick back & take it easy. I hope everyone has a good night.

Lav-hope you are tucked into bed warm and cozy and not in too much pain tonite. Be good to yourself and take it very easy tomorrow.

Per1-Hope you enjoy the meteor shower tonite! I've watched it once in my life and it was very cool. Have fun!!

Dill-your last 2 months are going to fly by! Sorry to hear about your son and his marriage but if you think its for the best then here's to hoping it will not be too painful and will be very quick in the dissolution.

Thank you Star, Rusty et al for the very nice words. The trailer was gone when I got home and I stopped at the foot of the drive and just took in the empty space. I know its for the best but when dreams that you work so hard for and go through so much angst to attain don't work out its painful. And I know you guys all know exactly what I'm feeling right now.

Rusty-safe travels tomorrow. I understand from Prairie Home Companion this weekend that it's STILL snowing in MN. I have no doubt that you will bring them heat and sun and will melt that snow with your smile!!

Lav-the yardwork I would like done is really nothing more than a good spring cleanup. I let those danged "wildflower" grow out of control last summer so along with getting rid of those, I need some leaves raked out, debris (storm and brother related-gotta love having an arborist in the family ) removed etc etc. Then some edging and a nice layer of mulch and I'll be all set. Of course I have my grand design that would cost thousands, but I'll settle for the micro plan.

Today my boss turned over the supervision of the PT contractor to me so maybe I'm back in her good graces? I still don't think I'm getting the raise, at least not this year. We'll see what the new fiscal year brings. The woman I'm now supervising is a challenge. She's very OTC, passive aggressive and a bit of a martyr. Oh yea. Oh, and I think we're going to be changing that way she does her job. That ought to be fun!! :H I'll find out soon enough if I'm really cut out for this that's for sure.

Well, it's way too late for me to be still up and 5am will come way too soon. Nite all!
