    Mindful May!

Hello Mindful Ones, so glad you are still here. I have just simply been swamped with real world responsibility and so limited on 'me' time! Anyway, I think about you all even when I can't read and post.

Lav, sorry about your bird. I bet it will be a bit of an adjustment. I didn't realize cockatiels were so long-lived.

Papmom, a big and hearty congratulations on your 3 year birthday! How pleased you must be. Also, I love to hear your news of clearing out those items, especially bulky ones, that no longer serve you. I feel a burden lifted, even if it is just vicariously!

Cyn, I have been spreading the word about the Starbucks instant Italian roast. I love it. I now carry it in my purse for impromptu coffee breaks. Thanks again for that.

My son starts his new job tomorrow! Yay! Onward and upward.

Rusty, TDN, Star, Pers, LBH, et. al., have a great AF Saturday.
    Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

      Mindful May!

      Good morning to all...

Pap, what fun plans, so glad you have a trip to look forward to this summer!! Thinking about retirement, I would want to work at least part time to keep busy enough. You are so busy, working seven days a week, that no work sounds great to you. However, I think balance is the key. Could you work full time for the weekend job? That would be interesting.

Lav, any special plans for Mother's Day? My husband wanted to take me out to a buffet, but I was not interested. Too much food. Instead, I received flowers and a plant stand from the kids, and would like to go to look at plants. Deemphasizing the food. Hey, made those bean burgers you suggested on another thread and they were so good. Thanks so much. Love the sites you have linked us to so many times.

Dill, great to hear from you, and so wonderful your son is starting his new job. Hope your Mother's Day is sweet.

I had a lovely day yesterday. Cleaned my entire house for several hours and boy was I tired but did it look great. Bean burgers, then a hot bath and a good book. Really relaxing and peaceful. It is colder here so outdoor activities are not so fun. Hope today is a little warmer.

Hello to all, have a great Sunday.

        Mindful May!

Good morning friends & Happy Mothers Day!

Rain has finally moved out but not without a fabulous lightning show last night.
Good day for cooking out on the grill which I will make someone else do today :H
They all like to gather here, which is great but I'm taking the day off :H

Dill, hope you are getting some time to relax this weekend. You must be getting excited, the school year is nearly over!

Star, those all you can eat buffets haven't interested me in many years.....way too much butter & cheese involved in those foods
Glad you liked the black bean burgers - I love them & they totally agree with me - yay!

Somehow, one way or the other I have been elected to throw a small graduation party for my daughter-in-law next weekend. It's not going to be big or elaborate by any means, just a gathering of a few close friends & family. She is starting right up on her Masters degree in June.

Wishing everyone a wonderful AF Sunday!
        Lav

          Mindful May!

Good morning Mindful ones, and Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are human and fur-moms! I was lucky to receive a beautiful bouquet from my step-daughter (delivered in the the POURING rain last evening, I felt sorry for the poor delivery girl!). My dogs have not been particularly forth-coming with well wishes, but you never know, the day is young. I sent a card to my step-daughter from her dog - she rescued an adorable poodle last year, so I thought she would get a kick out of that - and I ordered a mouse pad with a great photo of the pup's face...hope she likes it.

Star - going plant shopping is always a pleasure isn't it? I thought of you this morning at a plant store; don't you usually put ferns out on your deck (or maybe that was someone else). Anyway I thought of you!

Lav - I really hope it's true that you won't be doing the cooking today...have a good time with your kids around.

Take care all - hope that it is a good day for everyone - the sun is starting to peek out here, so that's good. (Though now I have no excuse not to mow, hmmmm). Cheers!
