    MAE ALL...

Blondie...guess you should have added "at starting the thread" after the "I'm new here" smile! tumeric...and tastes of dirt. Do try it. Have you ever seen Mick's "Owl" avatar? That's the one I grew up with. :H I'll be checking out the Perth link later.

TT..yup you're definitely sounding better. I've never heard of dhal soup.

CB...good luck on your culinary adventure...I won't be joining you. :H Remember some me time during your crazy week.

Bear...and what language are you talking? Obviously I'm not a curry person. My Mom used to make a curried shrimp dish for special occasions but it was not spicy as she toned it down for us. Did anyone answer your question? MAE stands for Morning/Afternoon/Evening...covers it all. Do try and not analyze everything...what will be will be.

Mick...bout time you offered up the coffee, sorry I missed it, had a very early start this morning. Have booked holidays for the first 2 weeks of August and now I have to get all my September articles ready before I go. Hard to follow ODAT in the publishing business, glad I'm not a publisher. Gotta say it felt pretty good coming away from that meeting without a list of tasks to take care of. My niece is in town and we're all getting together tomorrow. It'll be a mini family reunion and we're not serving curry

Det...hope you were able to get to a meeting. Safe travels to your demo.

Lav...don't you just wish you could bottle that energy and sell it!! We'd all be millionaires. Sounds like you're enjoying it though.

Cindi...glad I'm not studying SQL anymore. Sounds like you've got a solid business plan and I can see all kinds of positive changes coming your way and the kids. Good job and Good Luck.

SF...I am glad to not be counting days. Rather I notice shifts in thinking or behavior that mark that I am making progress. I also am aware when...i am slipping backwards.
We have got to meet each other some day. I could have written that. Haven't thought about the days till Mick mentioned something about me following right behind him and he's right, August 15th is right around the corner. Good luck with your Anatomy class.

Now it's time for an Iced Tea and check out the jokes. Hope you all had a great AF Thursday and a peaceful and relaxing evening....PPQP

Long, long day but the first week of extreme granddaughter sitting is over
We've had a lot of fun doing stuff together like coloring, playing with the chickens, Making GF animal cookies, throwing water balloons, etc :H :H

I hope everyone else is doing well & had a good day!

Here's the link for the vegan Cherry Garcia ice cream:
      www.vegedout.com/2013/04/01/vegan-cherry-Garcia/

I use one large can of Goya coconut milk in place of a small can of full fat & a small can of lite.
What the hell - why not??? :H :H
One thing you need to remember is that the texture is going to be a bit different (icier) & you need to let it sit out of the freezer for about 15 minutes before you plan to eat. You have no idea how happy I was to find this recipe. I hadn't had any ice cream since the mid-late 80's!!!!
The only drawback is - every time I make a batch YB shows up & consumes it all

That link may not be working - so here you go

        Vegan Cherry Garcia Ice Cream

        For the Ice Cream Base:
◾1 can full fat coconut milk
        ◾1 can lite coconut milk
        ◾3/4 C. raw sugar
◾1 t. vanilla OR cherry extract if you can find it
◾1 C. fresh or frozen pitted cherries
        ◾1 T. fresh lemon juice

        For the Dark Chocolate Pieces:
◾1/2 C. chopped vegan dark chocolate or vegan dark chocolate chips
        ◾2 T. coconut oil

Method: Make the dark chocolate pieces first: Melt the chopped dark chocolate and the coconut oil together over a double broiler on low-ish heat. Once fully melted, pour the chocolate mixture into an 8?8 pan lined with parchment paper or plastic wrap. Stick in the freezer and let chill til solid.

While the chocolate mixture is chilling, blend coconut milks, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla and just a few of the cherries (for color) until completely smooth. Pour into prepared ice cream maker and let churn for 25-30 minutes. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can try this method. While the ice cream is churning, cut the chilled chocolate into pieces with a pizza wheel. Return chocolate pieces to the freezer.

When the ice cream finishes churning, pour ice cream into a large freezer safe container and stir in the chocolate pieces and the remaining cherries, so they stay mostly intact. You can eat it now, like soft serve but it’s much better when you freeze it for 2 hours til it’s nice and solid.

Lav, that sounds delicious (had to google cherry garcia!). Do you have an ice cream maker?
I found a delicious coconut yoghurt but it's about 3-4 times the price of ordinary yoghurt, but I'm nowhere near the yoghurt-making league yet!

Mick - I was half-way reading your post (in PPQ-voice) before I realised it was you and not PPQ :H I'm easily confused! Loved your jokes today. Not sure what an authentic curry is, though they are hotter. Also, the local supermarkets have a little section of UK foods and they have a Chinese curry sauce mix which I decided to buy, remembering all my late night chips and curry sauce! It was awful. Pleased to say I didn't get the Irn Bru too! Oh and my car is in for service and then needs a new part next week (looking at about $1500) so whilst you've got your wallet out

PPQ - are you doing a whistle-stop MWO tour for your hols? Who'll look after the vege gardens?

Hi Det - does tumeric last that long? I love when I can find the fresh stuff.

Cindi - your son must be reaping the benefits of his sober time now. Yes, I'm usually up 5am but don't usually get to post till later.

Just applied for a job; what a pain with the selection criteria, mission statements, etc, etc. I hope my disdain didn't come across in my letter :H

Heading over to Friday, seeing as it's almost 2pm... have a great sober evening to those still awake...
